WATER BABIES AS CELEBRITIES OF US ALL

1 bilion people in the world don’t have access to clean drinking water. Yet we are made up of 63% H2O as people. I think true celebrity is about whose moving water flows in the world. It’s as simple as something like that.

Nicole Richie is one of the brightest stars that does all year round. She’s our girl. Click on pic to learn more about what we can do through initiatives like Global Water.

To make clean water flow in dry places where it needs to be the most, let’s do it. Thanks. Love you all.

EVAN LYSACEK for VANITY FAIR says WINTER OLYMPICS 2010 HAD SOUL

Evan Lysacek tells Vanity Fair that the Winter Olympics 2010 was soulful. Says Lysacek:

“The stories. Obviously the athletes and the events and the competitions are the bones of the Olympics, but the stories and the triumphs and the victories are the soul of it, and so to be just one of those stories and those victories is something I’ll never forget.”

It’s a good thing Evan won gold, or it might not have been as soulful for him as he now heads to Dancing With The Stars. Now, if he doesn’t win that televised dance-off after winning gold in skates and on ice, then um… there’s something majorly jacked about DWTS this upcoming season.

The Hollywood Winter 2010

Winter in Hollywood 2010

looks like men and women on skates n’ skis

Snowy carpets replacing red ones

From TV sets of maple leaves

Sporting-glory caps mere mortals

Championing elite mountains of men

Olympic Oscars gold

Is hung ‘round necks again

LORDS OF THE RINGS – SNOW BOARDERS AT WINTER OLYMPICS 2010

What a beaut pic, from the LA TImes. That’s the Winter Olympics spirit right here. Canada’s Robert Fagan, right, leads Germany’s David Speiser, Canada’s Francois Boivin and Swizerland’s Fabio Caduff during the men’s snowboard cross quarterfinal at Cypress Mountain. Four nations athletes together competing in the greatest show on snow, on earth.  Winter sports entertainment doesn’t get much better than this. Nice one fellahs!

CHINA MAKES ICE SKATING MARRIAGES LOOK SO EASY – WINTER OLYMPICS 2010

Zhao Hongbo and his figure-skating partner and wife, Shen Xue, perform an intricate maneuver en route to the Olympic gold medal in the pairs competition at the Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver, Canada.  How inspiring are these two, in total unison. But I wonder if they ever get sick of each other. They are saints on ice for China. :)

If this golden couple ever penned a book on  marriage. I’d so buy it.  What winners.

LEMON PLEDGE OCD by ICE SKATER JOHNNY WEIR

Skating is all about control and mastery of the body on ice. One slight error, costs an athlete their medal and top placing. The skaters I know who compete competitively, always have a touch of OCD.

They are very difficult people to be friends with, but they make up for it with their creativity. OCD goes with the territory of skating in their quest for glory and the expectations that rest on their shoulders.

Says Team USA’s talented Johnny Weir at the Winter Olympics: “I was nervous last night. So I Pledged [as in Lemon Pledge] everything in my room. Some people eat, some people drink – but I Pledge everything.”

Lol! Isn’t Johnny Weir a character!

Has the Winter Olympics got you amped up to go skiing on your next planned vacation. Here’s an image of Mt Aoraki in the beautiful South Island of New Zealand, to schedule into your next Winter holiday plans.

In New Zealand, like here in California, you can ski and go swimming at the beach in the same day. I think US Gold medalist skiier Lindsey Vonn would approve of that concept a lot. Fun! Let’s go Europe! :)

LINDSEY VONN STILL MAY HAVE A CHANCE AT WINTER OLYMPICS GLORY

Lindsey Vonn, 25, the US gold medalist favorite for skiing the slopes of Winter Olympics glory, almost saw her dreams to compete slip away with a skiing injury this week. Although in intense pain and not being able to train at all in Vancouver, due to bad weather causing the rescheduling skiing events, Vonn still stands an outside chance that her injuries could heal in time to take to the slopes.

Good luck honey! And in Hollywood, we’re rooting for ya!
