REESE WITHERSPOON’S WATER FOR ELEPHANTS GETS A LATER RELEASE DATE

Water for Elephants will have to be quenched one week later than anticipated at the box office.

Fox has changed the release date for the film — starring Reese Witherspoon and Robert Pattinson — from April 15 to the 22.

I wonder what films are dropping like they’re hot in Hollywood on the 15th then to make Water have it’s new debut date. Interesting stuff.

WILL CAMERON SHEPHERD OF THE WALLABIES RISE ABOVE INJURY FOR RUGBY WORLD CUP 2011?

Richard Graham the solid rugby football coach of The Western Force, Australia has backed Cameron Shepherd to return to his blistering best. Graham claims ‘the utility back has finally overcome a litany of injuries that threatened to derail his Super Rugby career.

Shepherd who was born in England but grew up in Sydney hasn’t missed a beat during the Force’s gruelling pre-season campaign, returning strongly from a hamstring complaint that kept him out of the recent Qantas Wallabies tour of Europe.

Graham believed Shepherd, who has suffered numerous setbacks since breaking his left fibula in eight places in 2007, would return to top form next season.

“He’s probably in the best condition he’s been in for a number of years,” Graham said at training on Wednesday.’

Fingers crossed then for Cameron Shepherd’s Rugby World Cup sports gladiatorial hopes for Australia next year. Hopefully Shepherd can stay in the clear from injury to compete at the world’s top sporting level.

Comcast/ Universal the Media conglomerate that broadcasts Keeping Up With The Kardashians and The Chelsea Handler Show here in the USA, will be broadcasting The Wallabies live across America in 2011 as new sporting entertainment via Hollywood, when the action goes down in New Zealand at The Rugby World Cup. To get your tickets this Christmas for you and to organize the mates, zip on over here to secure.

A FLORENCE + THE MACHINE CHRISTMAS CAROL, 2010

Here as I blog in West Hollywood this Christmas I am thankful that we have freedom of expression and freedom of speech in America.

Finally, I have recovered from a dirty martini hang over from two nights ago at a Hollywood Hills Christmas party. I like olives, so always get it wrong when I see them in a festive glass. I only had two martinis, but they were good ones! The relief of not having a Bellevedere voddie headache today is awesome, yet the respite is short lived when today I look at the news and I see that people are being persecuted in Iran for being different.

People are not allowed to have a Christmas this year. Those who want to are detained, some are behind bars, some will be martyred for their Christian faith in 2010!!! That’s insanity.  (more…)

KELLY OSBOURNE, MILEY CYRUS, EMAIL

Tweets Kelly Osbourne: “Genuinely heart broken that someone hacked and read all my personal info! is nothing sacred? Literally devastated! I’m just being Miley!!!! http://plixi.com/p/64761684

Although it’s not devastating news, like someone died–it is annoying getting hacked. When you get hacked living in Hollywood, the experience just makes you… write more colorfully… for the next time a hacker comes along.

Let’s hope Kelly’s emailed secrets remain private. Ozzy is all the Osbourne we can handle this Christmas. His interviews with magazines this Christmas are a riot. For example, he jokes that he doesn’t know who Justin Bieber is yet and that Lady Gaga should take a break so “the fans can fall in love with her again.” The Osbournes are FULL THROTTLE this Christmas.

100% Full on!

Kelly is heading back to London for her family Christmas celebrations this year. Sounds fun.

FROM HOLLYWOOD – PRIVATE JOHN HOWARD, NEW ZEALAND, RIP

“Keeping secrets on our pillow”–Brandon Flowers lyrics, for those who grieve grief’s unquantifiable language in the dark night of the soul.

“As a family, we have been so fortunate to have a son and a brother who has so enriched our lives. To the young men of this country, Jack would want me to say this: Be your own man, do not be afraid to dream and pursue those dreams with quiet determination. Be sincere in your friendships, and keep those friendships in good repair. Stay true to your beliefs. Love your mother,”–the farewell words of Roger Howard on behalf of his family and friends, Anne Scott and daughters Charlotte and Isabella–as Roger laid his son, Private John Howard (Jack) to rest at Wellington’s Cathedral of St Paul in New Zealand’s capitol.

Private Howard was a Kiwi lad serving in the the 3rd Battalion in The Parachute Regiment of the British military, who was ‘killed by American soldiers piloting an American F-18 Hornet fighter, during a friendly fire incident in Helmand, Afghanistan,’ reports the UK Daily Telegraph.

Two Maori warriors carrying taiaha (traditional Maori wooden weapons of the art of Mau Rakau hand combat martial arts) ‘accompanied Private Howard’s coffin along with seven of his fellow British soldiers.’ In very poignant imagery, his coffin was draped in a Union Jack flag and with a traditional hand woven Maori cloak as he was carried into the cathedral, with his family following behind.’

His family are such big-hearted people to be able to forgive the futility of Private Howard’s loss of life in Afghanistan’s war effort. The cost of war to America and allies has been shared by many in common bonds of brotherhood in the hope of peace in the world.

New Zealand is a small nation. News like this rocks New Zealand culture to the heart, deeply. We don’t have all that many people to lose, our nation is small. One life lost is like 10,000 to us. It feels like as a Kiwi looking at New Zealand from afar in California that I’ve unexpectedly found myself crying about 29 lost miners gone too soon recently and now Private John gone too soon as well.

Such news makes any Kiwi cry. Blokes included. We’re just wired that way to fellow Kiwis in a deep and committed sense of place and Life’s purpose in the world. I’m tired of crying for New Zealand blokes lately in Hollywood, whose lives have been lost too early in the pursuit of the earth’s energy resources or a real sense of Peace too in the world transcending war. Accidents resulting in loss of lives in both cases, where unexpectedly men weren’t safe. Sorry, but I am. It’s just gut wrenching and we all share their loss and contributions to our culture.

RIP Private Howard. Sending kind healing thoughts and prayers for the Howard-Scott families this Christmas. A Kiwi brother of Commonwealth and Am-Kiwi community gone way too soon. What a beautiful send off for this Kiwi lad as these pictures show. John’s grandmother Elizabeth Scott looked very regal at the helm of her family.

Haere ra ou tatou teina–a symbol of a younger brother’s vital potential– to us all. Hollywood salutes your blood father’s spoken symbolic words of Peace in the Spirit of shared bronaaki culture (fellowship) that is Our Protector, stronger than war’s unquenchable grave and the proven Victor over death itself. Mauri ‘Ola Tatou. Ka Tu Te Whare Ka Ora o Te Ao i te taha o Te Awa Ora, Mo Ake Tonu.

In the spirit of global brotherhood that surpasses any difference of race, geographical borders, religious or cultural boundaries too in our shared humanity of melanin fused with spirit on this same shared earth we love, here’s the group Candella singing Brandon Flowers song Crossfire in honor of Private Howard’s life of service for the world. The song is offered from Hollywood today in the hope of Peace’s diverse rule and expressions in hearts and minds universally as an intelligent way forward of all leaders of future generations who wear Wisdom’s timeless glasses to see the best paths forward for children to walk in freely. Children who as global friends, consider each other equally and who build good friendships across all cultures of the world, as their open hearts so choose to as our guides, teachers and leaders without fear. [Thanks Candella & Brandon Flowers]

HUGH LAURIE ON THE SHOCK HORRORS OF CONTINUING THE AMERICAN ACCENT AS A TV DOCTOR FOR 7 YEARS

Yabbering on from the magazine pages of GQ France, much awarded British actor, Hugh Laurie is riding the coat tails of his House MD costar, Olivia Wilde‘s new box office success (Tron: Legacy).

In Hollywood it always pays to back younger stars, because they become your insurance plan later in life. Seriously though, the very talented Hugh talks about the unexpected events in his California life at getting to talk in an American accent in a hospital fake setting–for six years longer than he thought would happen. He’s fun, as ever.

On House MD‘s ongoing success: When I auditioned, I thought that within two weeks it would all be over. I had not imagined that seven years later, we would still be here. At the same time, it was a good script with a complex role. I appreciated the series in its entirety– clever, funny, with the ability to express different tones. Sometimes witty, dramatic, funny, other times clownish. I found that original, I understood the character.

On the art of acting with an American accent: Frankly, I have no technique. It takes practice. There are words that I cannot say such as “murder” or “girlfriend.” Too many “r”s. I used a coach for like, 20 minutes! Terribly useless. I should not say that, it will annoy people in Hollywood. Seriously, I’m not convinced by the method. I’ve never had any acting training. Sometimes I feel guilty: Sometimes I feel fragile and I would love to posses the knowhow. But I’m not sure you can teach actors how to speak.

Isn’t he the funniest? He’s like the Jon Hamm of hospital sets drama. He keeps getting quirkier with time.

SILENT NIGHT IS THE no.1 CHRISTMAS CAROL OF THE UK

“With the dawn of redeeming grace. Glories stream from heaven afar”–Christmas, Hollywood 2010.

Silent Night tops the U.K’s Christmas carol poll this year.

Music licensing company PPL, have registered 1800 songs with a Christmas theme but the Austrian song, Silent Night is viewed as the best. ”Everyone from punk band The Dickies right through to Sinead O’Connor has recorded it, which exemplifies just how much it resonates with all different types of artists,” a PPL spokesperson said.

THE HORIWOOD TOP TEN – MON 12.20.10

Husband. What husband, says the UK when selecting their most favorite wedding pic of Nicole Richie‘s big wedding day with Benji Madden. UK media prefer a picture of American interracial and intergenerational family-star power with Nicole and her dad Lionel Richie for this magazine cover and an image of modern family.

A very sweet picture of Michael Jackson‘s god-daughter and her dad. What a beautiful bride, Richie was. Weddings, marriage romance, commitment in love from two people to each other rising above (through and past) current economic times and anything that politicians may (or may not) say– is the new trend of the 2010′s. Long live true love.

KATY PERRY IS ON TOP OF THE US SINGLES CHARTS TWO WEEKS RUNNING

“Come on, let your colors burn. Even brighter than the moon”–Katy Perry, songwriter.

There is no stopping Katy Perry-Brand. First up she had the whole wedding in a Tiger sanctuary in Rajastan, India to Brit comedic lad Russell, after the two had met backstage at an entertainment awards show.

Perry went on to become Google’s (worldwide) in the Western World (according to Bill Gates company) most searched for woman in the entire world, this year. Wow! That’s quite some celebrity heat for this California Gurl.

This week Katy is on top for the second week in a row leading the US singles charts. Reuters (not E! Entertainment, or, People Magazine, or UK Daily Telegraph but REUTERS worldwide!!!) is reporting: “NEW YORK (Billboard) – The spinning wheel atop the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart came to a halt for the first time in almost two months on Thursday, as Katy Perry’s Firework logged a second consecutive week at No. 1.”

Rihanna is not too far behind her main buddy in pop music. “What’s My Name? by Rihanna featuring Drake, was also angling for a second shot at glory by rising one place to No. 2 on the heels of strong radio airplay. The R&B starlet held at No. 6 with Only Girl (In the World).

These two girls have the golden touch when it comes to no.1 hits on the US charts. Congrats. What they both have in common is that they choose to live in California when not on tour; they both have strong links to the U.K and Commonwealth nations and they LOVE AMERICA. A winning mix, combined with beauty, talent and ambassadorialship traits like few others. Hot!

THE TOP TEN FASTEST RISING NAMES OF ENTERTAINMENT, OUTSIDE OF ASIA 2010?

If you haven’t heard these names good on ya! I don’t know how you found this blog. Anyway, according to Google Zeitgeist’s result’s that have been okay-ed for distribution, these are the top ten fastest rising names of the Entertainment world, outside of Asian nations. A youthful burst of (mainly) American faces. They are:

1. Justin Bieber. 2. Katy Perry. 3. Selena Gomez. 4. Kim Kardashian. 5. Eminem 6. Lady Gaga. 7. Miley Cyrus. 8. Taylor Lautner. 9. Megan Fox. 10. Robert Pattinson.

Other trending names: Shakira, Netflix. Youtube Videos. Ke$ha. Nicki Minaj. Grooveshark. Transformers 3.

All I can say is: There is no Bollywood stars here (a weakness Google needs to improve on to grow market share, still this year) and thank goodness for Robert Pattinson and Shakira, otherwise there would be nobody who wasn’t American in this list other than Bieber.

Come on Google! Be more sharing and reflective.

Zero grade for cross-cultural spirit from an American-owned IT company! You’d think the world was American looking at these results. What a false and deluded bubble that is, to present such a vision to the world. Let’s hope next year Google USA isn’t so insecure. I have a blog, I too know who trends each day.

It’s a pity the Wikileaks scandal didn’t involve the real Google Zeitgiest results. Just saying. This list conveys a vision of ‘cultural imperialism’ that is skewed America’s way. Ideological brainwashing on display, a tad here to be remotely feasible.

I even ask whether Google was censored this year? Unreal. With the exception of Eminem, Nicki Minaj and Ke$ha’s inclusion and Selena Gomez being bumped onto the list at no.3 to reflect the latest US census results proving more Hispanic-American than envisaged–this reads like last year’s list of entertainers. This list feels stale.

JULIAN ASSANGE NEWS UPDATES AND WIKILEAKS NEWS UPDATES – 12.16.10

“It’s great to smell fresh air of London again,” Assange, 39, illuminated by a blizzard of photographers’ flashes, said after being released on $312,000 bail. “I continue on with our work. Clearing my name is not the highest task I have. The highest task I have is to continue with my work,” Assange added. Christine Assange, Julian’s mother (pictured below) had flown in from Australia to London to be with her son to “hold him close.” Aussie moms–How sweet.

Julian Assange has had quite a month. He proves that in a month, a dark horse outsider can: take the cover of Time Magazine; be listed as Time‘s no.2 most influential person of the year after a Facebook founder; can have Swedish girls fling themselves at him claiming rape, broken condom rumors–all after consensual sex with a man (go figure); have fame seekers like Michael Moore appear on camera to bail Julian out of jail.

KIERA KNIGHTLY TALKS HOLLYWOOD FILM FRANCHISING FILMING SCHEDULES

“I think I intended not to work again,” Kiera Knightly, 25 tells The UK’s Telegraph in a recent interview, describing filming back-to-back filming schedules for Pirates of the Carribean when she was 22.

Perhaps this is one of the reasons Kiera prefers to film outside of Hollywood where she can.

Really though most 25 year-old actors can’t relate to a comment like this right now–they’re all looking for a break, but good on ya Kiera for speaking your mind.

Emma Watson declared the same thing after wrapping Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows back-to-back filming schedule too. At the moment Watson has been recalled to reshoot scenes for Harry Potter 8, so these words from Kiera will be amusing Watson and getting her through, no doubt.

British starlets do appear to have decency standards they expect from their film franchise bosses to consider, by the looks. Good on them!

JAMIROQUAI SINGS OF VIRTUAL INSANITY

An empty chair for Liu Xiaobo led to this performance of Virtual Insanity by angsty kid of the dance-lounge world Jamiroquai at the Nobel Peace Prize Awards this year.

Of course, one nation’s vision of heaven or a paradise could be another nation’s version of a complete nightmare, perhaps indicating that more cross-cultural dialogue on deeper and profound levels (other than lip service revealed in leaked cables to be just that) is needed in the world to find a medium of peace from each nation to another. The greatest virtual insanity of all–is to not find a meeting place or a bridge to talk equally on–one to another.

Where is that bridge? There is a lot of work to be done in finding that concerning the human rights of all people in all nations of the world. Not one nation has a squeaky clean human rights record, if we all are honest–so we can’t be children and just project all of our own self-righteousness of ‘status’? in the world, on one nation like China. It requires more work to be done in finding the center for all people on human rights issues. We also must remember that if China was not humane on many issues–this nation would not have loaned so much money to the USA over the years, to assist the American government to be able to be more humane to fellow Americans with that loaned money. In addition, the American government would not have accepted the loans either if they did not think China was okay. Every issue has a perspective from many different angles to consider before we throw stones.

Back to Jamiroquai–this group was always one of my favs growing up in college. They were just off the wall quircke. Enjoy.

ROYAL ROMANCE IN 3D – UK TV – REGINA AND PRINCE PHILLIP BECOME THE FUTURE

Reports Urmee Khan for the UK Telegraph:

Channel 4 will light up the U.K’s television with footage of The Queen in 3D. Urmee says that the footage of her Majesty will look like a regular television picture until viewers, reach across the coffee table over the ruby, for their special glasses where the images will strangely appear to emerge from the screen. Right in your own living room.

It’s perhaps a way of Her Majesty saying, she has a unique perspective? A very cool idea.

Director Bob Angell and cameraman Arthur Wooster shot the colour newsreel as part of a package called Royal Review. The special 3D effect was achieved by using two cameras simultaneously at different angles before blending the archived footage into one single picture. It’s about blending two views of the same existing facts pre-recorder to reflect a more relevant view today, no one has ever seen from that unique perspective.

3D Royal filmic content: The 3D footage features Queen Elizabeth II at events she attended in the lead up to and after her Coronation in 1953. A visit to the Epsom Derby features and a wee trip on the Royal Barge on the Thames. How posh! Sailing along down the river then.

Angell and Wooster, are in their 80s, and have come out of retirement to make the documentary and get behind the camera one more time and create contemporary footage of the Queen. Grey Power are seriously rocking out a show to inspire the world. Very cool.

David Glover, whose rather grand job description defines him as ‘a specialist factual commissioning editor,’ says, “When I was told that there was unseen footage of the Queen’s coronation in 3D I didn’t really believe it at first. Watching it didn’t disappoint – it was like turning the TV set into a window – you draw back the curtains and look straight back into 1953.”

David Glover adds, “Watching period 3D documentary footage is about as close to time travel as one can get. You watch as the crowds wave at the coronation and you see the young Queen Elizabeth walking right past you,” he added. Sainsburys will distribute the special red and blue glasses for free in collaboration with Channel 4. It’s like Christmas.

The two, hour-long programmes, are made by Renegade Picture Ltd/Can Communicate, in association with the British Film Institute (BFI) and will be shown later in the year.
