THE HORIWOOD TOP TEN – CHRISTMAS EVE – 12.24.10

“Our cup overfloweth with joie de vivre to share with others”–motto for 2011 onwards.

This Christmas Eve is the month where a Maori Hollywood entertainment celebrity blog made history and hit the 2.8 million threshold thanks to you all worldwide. That’s never happened before in Hollywood’s entertainment history. Hawaii takes the top spot as both the 44thPresident of America and New Zealand’s Prime Minister vacation at the tropical jewel isles location of the USA.

Here in California this artwork at the Wiedeman gallery photographed in Hollywood this eve, reminds me of the umbrella I’ve been living under while living here in Hollywood California to date. Very French with a Hollywood twist. And Jakey Davis shines with two of his biggest fans, sister Taylor Jane and his mom, teen mom’s champion life coach - The Maori Rose of Sharon across the world in New Zealand. It’s all about children and their world we help and support them create. As you can see, I’m on Jakey’s program as he’s already busting out his Peace sign moves for photos, so fine like already, on a Kiwi beach. Too cute.

TAYLOR LAUTNER’S STAR POWER, HOLLYWOOD 2011

Taylor Lautner: The only teen action movie star to clearly make it through Hollywood’s quick sand celebrity hoops in 2010 by playing a teen werewolf has managed to keep his newest relaysh with Lily Collins out of the public eye, at least compared to his tour-de-paparazzi-force courtship with Taylor Swift.

This kid never made the top ten in Hollywood this year, but still proves he can kick above his weight in Tinsel Town. He’s a symbol that teen lads can do anything if they work hard, get lucky breaks, if authors write popular book series with teens in mind that then get adapted to film; and with the right parenting behind them.

Lautner’s upcoming movie work in Hollywood sees him cast in the film: Abduction (Post Production); The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part I & Breaking Dawn Part II as Jacob Black.

JESSICA WATSON, OPRAH WINFREY AND YOU KNOW WHEN YOU’RE A GLOBAL ENTERTAINMENT BRAND WHEN

You know when you’re a global entertainment brand when: These things (advertisements from entertainment companies featured below) start appearing above your blog posts’ search engine items on Google in Hollywood as people pay Google to put their ads above your posts. Who ever would have thought that would happen?!

Oh… and Oprah wanted to be a sailer for a nanosecond and dreamed that she would and could be–just so she could say that for a cool magazine interview in LA’s Parade Magazine, after leaving Chicago and heading to California to start her new TV network. In the interview her comments about television are so deep. (See bold bits).

I think for a split nano-second the big O wanted to be a very popular Australian sailing teen, like Jessica Watson (above). Why not?!!! Even role models need role models. Oprah’s found hers this year. By the way Jessica is a blogger too. She has her own merch and online store. Read Winfrey’s thoughts on sailing below these crazy ads. It’s so meshugenah that people are making money off this blog. ;)

Says Oprah: “I was questioning, Why don’t I build a boat and sail around the world? Why don’t I learn French and find a nice little house in Provence? I could see myself bicycling with my baguettes and the whole thing. But I talked it over with my friends, and they all said, ‘You’re not going to be happy doing nothing.’ What will be a failure is if nobody comes and watches this network. What others will perceive as failure is if some shows don’t succeed. I’m concerned about the bigger overall picture: my belief that people are basically good and want to see the good in them reflected through their experiences and the shows that they watch. This is a gamble I’m taking. I believe that the banal state of television, the kind of insipid space that we’re in–that you can have as many channels as we have and not find anything that really interests you–means that to a great extent we’ve lost our way.”

DISNEY TURNS TO BRITNEY SPEARS AND JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE TO MENTOR CHILD STARS

True fact – America produces the most fun teenage experience in the world that is media savvy. In particular a vision of the teen of California. Creating such pictures of California youth is a big global industry industry the world loves.

This year, Selena Gomez was the third most popular name in entertainment in the US. Miley Cyrus no.7. What both stars have in common is that they were spun concurrently via Disney’s child-star making factory. Selena in direct response to Miley’s star phenomenon no one quite expected to occur as evidently as it did.

The U.K Daily News reports that Disney has appealed to Britney Spears & Justin Timberlake to help mentor its child stars and ex-stars–in sharing about making the transitions as famous kids to adults.

Good luck with that! There’s not really a “From fame to real life” manual–it’s up to every individual to navigate that for themselves–but I like the sentiment of mentoring. Sounds wise. The weird thing about Disney is that child actors aren’t really thought about while they make the lucrative bucks for Disney–their problems begins when the child star realizes how much Disney (or the world of Entertainment) has taken from their young lives in the fame trade-off. Is Disney doing damage control here? Looks like it.

However, Disney is the surest way to create child stars from America perceived to be credible in the world. Such is the enduring legacy of Walt Disney as a star brand.

SNL, SALVIA, MILEY CYRUS PARODIES – ADULTS AS WANNABE TEENS ARE KINDA SAD

You know when you’ve arrived, when your teen slip ups, are imitated by grown adults–seeking to make a buck for corporate advertisers on television as ‘comedic actors.’

Is the zenith of America’s comedic actors to really go to drama school–to then grow up to play a teen? Okay then, read this story and watch this clip if you believe it is.

This is the case, with Miley Cyrus (18)’s life and SNL actors who don’t know what else to do except parody her.

Only in America. What ever happened to “teen bullying is not okay.” Lol! Or the topic of “predatorial jealousy of teens and young people’s success?” A parody is always a compliment in Hollywood, so let’s go with that lens on these idiots imitating Smilers.

Miley Cyrus is huge–look at these crazy kids trying to wrap themselves in her tinsel, to be entertaining! (Above). It’s even more surreal than Miley’s real-ness as a person, in person.

MILA KUNIS STRIKES HER STAR AGAINST MILEY CYRUS’ NAME FOR A HOLLYWOOD SPARK

While Mila Kunis (That 70′s Show & Black Swan) was appearing on Lopez Tonight, she let slip that she did not think that Miley Cyrus‘ ‘bong video footage’ on the ex-Disney teens 18th birthday had anything to do with Salvia.

Says Kunis: “She was smoking some weed! Come on, now; that was not no legal [substance]!”

Scandalous! Why would a fully grown woman want to go challenging a Californian teen’s word on what she says she was doing on her 18th birthday? It makes it appear that Hollywood’s emerging lights are being led by the global popularity of California’s teens. Cyrus has yet to respond to Kunis’ allegation. Just as well Smilers is such a good girl, most of the time.

At least Kunis is not too proud to admit it, as she heats up her Hollywood star against Miley’s heading into publicity stakes for 2011. A smart move by Mila as she acknowledges Cyrus’ no.7 ranking in the world of all “Entertainment Names” requested online in the Western World this year. Heading into 2011 the young are leading the world. This one fact we know about who people trust the most in the world right now as entertainers. I guess they figure, the younger someone is, the less they’re likely to lie to other people. I find this trend fascinating. Where does this leave the existing ‘power set’ of the world? Leading in their own heads perhaps? Let’s hope not.

Go Mila Kunis! She’s a beauty.

JUSTIN BIEBER AND SELENA GOMEZ ARE FRIENDS

Two of the world’s most popular teens this year Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez were snapped sharing a laugh in Miami. Along with Miley Cyrus and Taylor Lautner these teens ranked in Google’s top ten names in the world of people most searched for on a search engine in 2010. Bieber and Gomez in the top three.

Both Gomez and Cyrus were spun into stars from Disney perhaps indicating the strength of the Mouse House to generate global stars. Singing teens is a key of the world’s brightest stars today.

LEVI JOHNSTON IS THE 50TH HOTTEST STAR VOTED IN HOLLYWOOD 2010

America: The Forever Young Hunter & Protector

Levi Johnston, the ex almost-son-in-law of Republican Senator Sarah Palin and once boyfriend of her daughter Bristol Palin makes the top 50 stars voted in Hollywood this year on Horiwod.Com. He’s the underdog pin up boy of America. A country Woodsman tryer who just keeps getting smarter, step by step.

His year saw Playgirl shelling out $100,000 for Levi to pose naked. This shoot created a controversy for the 20 year-old father of son, Tripp. Johnston has since become ensconced in American cultural life.

He often appears on TV talk shows as his ex mother-in-law’s nemesis, a reoccurring starring role for Levi across the same talk shows as Palin has appeared on. America finds this entertaining.

Surprisingly, Levi Johnston rates in both India and Thailand as an American celebrity to keep an eye out for in 2011.

He is currently waging an election campaign as Mayor of Wasilla Alaska–Pallin’s former Mayoralty stomping ground. His ongoing campaign involved Levi stopping by The Big Gun Store today.

His career path, star template is “everything Sarah Palin does, Levi does too– either the same thing with a slight twist, or, the opposite.” This has made him a star. He’s the frenemy mini-me male version of Palin. The in-law turned out-law sporting guns.

Reports People: Levi is often seen being trailed by a reality TV camera crew for a show he has in the works titled: Loving Levi: The Road to the Mayor’s Office.

Levi Johnstone is proof that young people should be represented and stand for local politics and government politics too. A view the White House needs perhaps, as Levi’s popularity denotes as a trending topic this year. Last year his trending topic was that Levi was a teen parent.

This year a local candidate on the huntsman’s political trail in The Last Frontier of America is his hot trend transition. He is a young lad who like many country-raised fural folk, enjoy black powder shooting in his recreational time. He’s also a military pin up lad many soldiers can relate to abroad, estranged from their children and families. With a tenth of America registered as a veteran of war – Levi has quite a loyal fanbase, every time he’s spotted holding a hunstman’s gun. In a way he’s a young modern Davy Crockett King of The Wild Frontier from Greene County Tennessee, in American mythology of the 18th and 19th Century.

Perhaps if Levi held a Human Rights manual in his other hand every time he held a gun for publicity, he just might one day rise to be a well rounded Senator or President of promise. Congratulations Mr Johnston for making the top 50 celebrities this year, by democratic vote in Hollywood.

JOSEPH DUNBAR, MAWHERA RESIDENT, SEVENTEEN-YEAR-OLD TEENAGE MINER, IS REMEMBERED BY THE HUFFINGTON POST, RIP

He is the teen who wore a coal miner’s hard hat for but an hour–Joseph Ray Dunbar RIP

Today America mourns the loss of Joseph Dunbar, the 17 year-old teen, whose first day at work in a coal mine, cost him his life at the Pike River Coal Mine Ltd managed New Zealand coal mine in Māwhera (Greymouth), Aotearoa/ New Zealand.

His story is tragic. Youthful potential of a son of New Zealand (a minor in America) gone too soon. He had a job, he was working. It just wasn’t his day. Here’s the Huffington Post‘s story via The New Zealand Herald:

“A teenage boy who was on the job for just one hour is among the 29 New Zealand coal miners trapped after last Friday’s explosion, the New Zealand Herald is reporting. All of the miners have now been declared dead.

Joseph Dunbar celebrated his 17th birthday Thursday, just one day before beginning his new job at the Pike River Mine. According to his mother Pip Timms, Dunbar was originally supposed to start work Monday, but he was reportedly so excited after an on-site tour that his boss let him begin Friday.

“He wanted to do this for a very long time,” Timms said of her son. She went on to note that he began planning to work at the mine since they’d moved to the nearby Greymouth area from Christchurch. “He set himself a goal, and achieving that goal meant everything to him. It meant he was going to travel with the company, take him different places. He was absolutely stoked. He was excited, he was ecstatic.”

Timms was distraught over the lack of news about the rescue efforts early in the search. “It’s pretty horrendous really. It’s quite hard,” she said. “You just keep going but you get exhausted and try to rest, but you can’t because your mind is just going over everything.”

So sad. I am reminded of Kevin Costner‘s “on screen name” as the actor and director who won Oscars for the film Dances with Wolves that he starred in with Graham Greene who played the legendary Kicking Bird character, a Lakota Indian Chief. Costner’s character’s name was John Dunbar. On IMDB (Hollywood’s industry guide), John Dunbar’s plight is defined as being: “Lt. John Dunbar, exiled to a remote western Civil War outpost, befriends wolves and Indians, making him an intolerable aberration in the military.”

In this film, loved by many Americans and people the world over too–we see a man in communion with landscape with nature’s resources and in dialogue with the people of the land. It’s a beautiful movie. A role that conscious Kiwis play each day with Maori people of Aotearoa/ New Zealand. It’s actually quite an exciting life. Culturally rich in its cross-over potential and meaningful on a real and deep level. I miss this a lot most days. My parents reflected each day, when I was growing up in Middle Earth, Kiwiland.

If there’s any consolation in this film for Joseph Dunbar and his family at their tragic loss at this time–may you find hope in the beautiful healing landscape of New Zealand’s scenic views–and in the comfort of friends not only locally but also worldwide at this time thinking of you all.

There just are no words to convey such a loss for a kid, a teen, a young man on the job wearing a hard earned hard hat with a lamp on it– for merely but an hour on his first day of his working life.

Heart-wrenching loss of youthful potential. As there are no words in sharing with the Greymouth Dunbar family’s grief, I must turn to the mastery and magic of a musician for their inspiring gifts to heal the world with a score of hope. On that keynote, here’s composer John Barry‘s orchestral film score music to offer solace from Hollywodod today in the hope that the spirit of adventurous lives remains rich in the dreams of all Kiwi kids, like Joseph Dunbar, who lived and grew up happily treated to beautiful views of nature daily in a West Coast green paradise like no other. Each day, young Kiwi Joseph’s eyes soaked in such cinematic worthy beauty from nature. His person was blessed, daily. May Joseph’s life be celebrated by all young people in New Zealand who have a dream and are prepared to work hard for it, knowing that even at great risk or unknown factors and odds too, a dream is always worth fighting for and working hard for each day–as Joseph’s intentions exemplified the first day he started at the coal face of his job.

His life speaks of reaching for a dream today in a community of brothers committed to industry, profit, community and the common wealth of global family. In New Zealand, human life is always our most valuable and highly prized asset this nation values, above any other resource or commodity. Joseph Dunbar’s loss is huge news today. Ka aroha tataou i tenei wa. May the sun shine again on the Dunbar family’s smile in the world. Love you.

OSCAR WINNER’S GLEE: GWYNETH PALTROW SINGS CEE-LO’S “FORGET YOU”

Hola! Gwyneth Paltrow is taking over Glee with a rendition of Cee-Lo Green’s Forget You song.

She sounds very early New Edition actually in this version, with an early Jackson 5 catchy jangly beat and tune. So American!

Then again with Gwyneth’s outro to the song, “Let’s go get some tacos” – she’s beyond American, she’s both early California and New Mexico and Cali-America now. Lol!

Oscars goes high school for a bit of fun. Press play for a laugh.

And for the full lyrics of the song, that give the jingle its full context, go here. And because Gwynnie’s outro directs America to follow the golden brown Hispanic-American trail (the people with the deciding vote now in America)–and she’s made me laugh five times now–try watching the ending of this clip too a few times for chuckles. Too true and too funny! With the jangle of change in our pockets, least we forget our Americano gratitude status, Tacos R US! Yes!!!

Go girl! That outro is good writing. Needless to say, Glee really does need to cast some real Latino and Latina teens about now. I don’t get it, there’s like about 2,000 who go clubbing at CircusDisco in Hollywood every weekend. It’s not like there’s a shortage to choose from for Glee’s updated casting needs here in Cali, where Glee is filmed every week. Why hide them?

On that note, let’s go get some hangi and some palusami too and maybe even some sausages from Pak ‘nSave and fire up the whanau BBQ as well!

UP! Let’s go groovy people of the world. If you’re from: East Los Angeles/ Santa Ana/ El Monte and Oxnard of California or Laredo/ Brownsville/McAllen/ El Paso of Texas, or Hialeah and Miami of Florida…Smile… chances are I’m talking to you. :)

MARIE OSMOND ON SON MICHAEL BRYAN TO OPRAH

‘I told him ‘Mike, I will be there on Monday and everything is going to be okay’. But depression does not wait until Monday.’–Marie Osmond gives a heart-wrenching interview, about the loss of her son Michael Bryan to Oprah Winfrey on Thursday’s Oprah here in the US.

Michael committed suicide by leaping from an apartment building in Los Angeles. 9 months later, this story, still makes us all so sad here in the USA.

What has the Osmond family, not been through? They’re quite amazing people really.

‘I think there’s always ‘what if’s,’ Marie told Oprah. To the Osmond family and fans of the Osmonds, here’s that consoling blog post, from last year that Jackie Warner and me, put together for Michael’s passing. That day hit West Hollywood hard. It was heavy bananas! Michael’s sister lives here.

GREY POWER NEEDS OUR LOVE MORE IN TEN US CITIES

“In my heart I’ve been a forest ranger all my life, but now I’m official.” Betty White sheds her gratitude on finally getting a childhood fantasy out of her octogenarian system with being named an honorary forest ranger. [LAT]

According to a report conducted by Money Rate.Com’s Richard Barrington - these are ten cities where grey power types should not retire in within America.

1. Nevada

2. Michigan

3. Alaska

4.South Carolina

5. Maryland

6.Tennessee

7. Ohio

8. North Carolina

9. Missouri

10. Arkansas

Interesting. If you live in one of these cities and are retired. A big hug, from Hollywood to you. Have the courage to get out of the house, partner with young people on money making projects, even if they don’t get it at first.

You need them, they need you –together you can turn these stats around in these cities and also change the culture which says grey power are not included in the cities economic planning as much as they could be. Needless to say, America’s youth could do with all of the extra wisdom to make a buck in these times. Go for it! Leap in and make a difference. :)

Now back to Betty: After getting presented with a stetson forest ranger’s hat at The Kennedy Center, and, giving a hug to impromptu guest, Smoky the Bear, white said: “Wilderness is harder and harder to find these days on this beautiful planet, and we’re abusing our planet to the point of almost no return,” White said. “In my heart I’ve been a forest ranger all my life, but now I’m official.”

White said some of her first memories as a child are riding in front of her father on a horse into the High Sierras. They would stay for three weeks and never see “another two-legged soul,” she said. The family also went camping in Yellowstone National Park. White said her teachers eventually asked that she write essays on topics other than Yellowstone.

ARIANNA HUFFINGTON RIDES THE DIVORCE THEME FOR NEW BLOG CONTENT

[Image Dustin, Meryl, Justin Henry - Kramer Vs Kramer via TMZ]

Writes Meaghan Williams of Associated Content: “The Huffington Post, a progressive news-reporting and opinion-editorial-driven website started in 2005, is adding divorce to the list of topics granted its own section on the site. Now, in addition to opining about comedy, arts, news, sports and the like, Huffington Post writers will share primarily anecdotal stories about their divorce experiences, divorce-related news, and advice for people in the process of getting or recovering from a divorce.

In the section’s inaugural post, “Introducing HuffPost Divorce: Everything You Wanted to Know About Divorce But Were Afraid to Ask,” Arianna Huffington, eponymous founder of The Huffington Post, explains how divorce has affected her personally. We won’t get into how Arianna discovered why she needed a divorce, it’s a tad bit shocking. But I do think the whole ‘divorce section’ is another way of processing peoples grief, loss, rendering apart, in current conditions.”

RENEE RANDALL TRAINS YOUNG MAORI, AND GETS A VISIT FROM HIS PRIME MINISTER IN WAINUIOMATA

This news clip in Te Reo Rangatira (the language of Chiefs) of New Zealand, shows how a concentrated and sustained community effort and key partnerships created between educators working with youth in training programs–closely with local business owners is getting results. Jobs for the young.

The biz owners win. Government funded educators win. Most of all young people win –all working together to educate directly where industry is indicating where the economy is expanding. Resourceful, no waste, community grass roots spirit. Smart dedicated focus.

Renee Randall of Taranaki who now lives in Wellington (Wellywood), trains young people at The Wainuiomata Training Centre. In particular young Maori people.

Watch Prime Minister John Key at the 40 second mark, while he goes onto a marae (a community gathering place) to meet with Maori leaders, along with the Minister of Maori Affairs, Pita Sharples.

Then at the 1.57 minute mark, you can view Randall meeting the PM. If you don’t understand a word of the language, that’s okay you’ll get used to it in time. I like the word Peremia (or Prime Minister). The clip is just worth watching to hear that several times in this story. When you watch Maori Television in Hollywood, the word peremia is similar to the English word, Premiere — like a red carpet film premiere. Watch the clip two or three times, and say the word when you hear it. Then you’ve learned some Maori. Cool aye?!

Peremia, is so Wellywood in Hollywood; the word brought a smile. What a versatile prime minister of global action, New Zealand has in Mr. John Key. Training up the next generation is key this week. Enjoy clip.

[News story: Presenter, Scotty Morrison, Reporter Joe Glen, Executive Producer Tini Molyneux for Te Karere. Red carpet premiere Hollywood star belonging to a, once upon a time, legendary auteur and architect of Hollywood Cinema].

WASHINGTON POST 10.18.10

The Washington Post gives some thought today to: the double tragedy of the Indonesian people and Americans now on edge over their next mortgage payment.

That’s America today on the face of the Capitol City’s newspaper. And The Posts website, these stories are popular: Obama on ‘Daily Show’, Christine O’Donnell, Billy Ray Cyrus, Tony Bennett, Farooque Ahmed, Time traveler?, Carolyn Hax.

At the time of writing, these are the most viewed topics US nationwide on the www right now: home business opportunities, vladimir putin, miami heat, nexus two and Arkansaw homophobic verbal slayer “Clint McClance.” What an idiot.

Anderson Cooper spoke on CNN about McClance’s idiotic tone, concerning children who identify with being gay, lesbian or transgendered. Here’s that story.

In putting this story in context as many media are blowing the gay teen suicide issue way out of proportion (as a pet topic of human rights awareness), US statistics show that 1500 teenagers committed suicide in 2002 in the US. More children will be shot to death by gang violence than suicide each year. The issue here is “mean teachers, advocating for the suicide of any kids” vs. sane humane people on school boards. Mr McClance has not yet replied to this broadcast. Sadly, Anderson lost his older brother to suicide in 1988. Any topic that polarizes a nation as McClance’s comment is doing right now in the US – is how stars are made. Cooper is that star right now in the making in U.S cultural life. His blog can be read here.

KEY 3D CINEMA PARADIGM SHIFT – CASTING MAORI AND POLYNESIAN TEENAGED ACTION STARS IN 3D, 2010′s

Hollywood, Calif– to [Hobbitsville, Middle Earth], Wellywood a Poneke today. A message on Wellywood casting.

One headline to grow the film industry globally: KEY 3D CINEMA PARADIGM SHIFT – MAORI AND POLYNESIAN TEENAGED ACTION STARS IN 3D, 2010′s

Why not?!

Image of Taylor Lautner of Hudsonville (Ottawa and Potawatomi Native American Indian tribes, descendant) 18, earns more than US$8 million a film in Hollywood. That’s not including his merchandising of his mixed American-indigenous image.

A Native [American Indian] teen in Hollywood. He has yet to appear in 3D cinema texts.

I present Taylor today as food for thought for Maori and Polynesian action stars, who are Hollywood worthy as entertainers also. Remembering that Maori have practiced Mau Rakau martial arts for centuries in Middle Earth, Aotearoa/ New Zealand. We have this history for 3D cinema’s authenticity as Art and Entertainment texts of Hollywood and Wellywood worthy cultural significance.

This thought being presented in Hollywood today for the land of Hobbits and their Oscar-holding creators and auteurs of Middle Earth to mull over. Namely Sir Peter Jackson and Sir Richard Taylor with casting lenses of wisdom and foresight worn in New Zealand, to grow existing and new talent and film markets from New Zealand shores showcasing all of New Zealand’s diverse potential in film growth to our economy. Courage to develop new Kiwi action stars, who have the potential to develop new action film genres that appeal to Asian markets.

Why can’t Polynesian and Maori Kiwi kids, be a vital part of Young Hollywood pop cultural texts, icons, symbols generation, and leadership too?

MAIKI SHERMAN – COVERS POLITICS IN THE MAORI LANGUAGE – SHANE JONES FOR TAMAKI ELECTORATE, THAT’S CULTURALLY VISIBLE IN NUANCED ARTS 2010′s

In the age of iPhone and digital media telephony – globally, a nation’s visibility is perceived as credibility. Maori and Polynesian Arts as Visual Arts getting more visual in Tamaki is a necessity to attract a global economy to New Zealand. The substance transmitted in all media that cannot be replicated, it stands on its own, will always be Spirit. If we possess it, we must serve it to Shine.

If we are credible, we must match the integrity of our belief with greater and more creative visibility as leading entertainers contributing to culture in the world. Whether they know it yet or not, the world needs US and our culture as expressed from artistic spiritsHoriwood on Arts & Visual Arts in The Super City – 2010′s.

Hot! Watch this clip to see news reporter Maiki Sherman covering politics and news in Auckland – The Supercity in Te Reo Rangatira (the language of Chiefs).

This clip also features Shane Jones who will stand in the Tamaki electorate, next election. Presenter Scotty Morrison and executive producer Tini Molyneux for Te Karere News bring us this unique story in Hollywood, wtih Maiki – for your viewing pleasure and Hollywood entertainment diversity.

Shane was Harvard educated in America, where he studied with his wife and children. He also speaks the indigenous peoples language of New Zealand  – a future trend for all politicians in New Zealand to become more proficient in, for the upcoming years of NZ politics. It’s time.

For Maori leaders like Shane, promoting Maori women into leadership roles across all sectors of society is his and his male peers’ (regardless of color) next biggest challenge. I see Shane being very instrumental, visionary and gentlemanly in this role as the world seeks out Maori women leadership and their wisdom as women on many global issues concerning other women, in the world. Maori and Kiwi women have a gift to lead that’s on the rise.

[Um, I'm posting this clip, because Mr Jones said "And how is that talented son of yours?" to my Maori Helensville-raised mom, when the two last met, at Dame June Jackson's anointing in Auckland - The Supercity.

[This pic - Samuel Marsden of Yorkshire, a later arrival and founding father of New Zealand]

Shane and I both grew up in Nga Puhi country – when he was not in America studying, learning at the feet of Maori Marsden - one of the greatest minds on theology, whose gift of Peace to mediate, along with Gra Theodore‘s is legendary in the ilk of New Zealand leadership circles.

Maori Marsden was the great grandson of Samuel Marsden of whom exploits and legends of New Zealand history books write about. Samuel had a spirit of deep respect for Maori, similar to that of Sir Douglas Graham. I pay respect to these greats today too from Los Angeles, The Entertainment Capitol of the World.]

For all of you Hollywood readers –manners with a reply back is how I was raised. My reply: E pehea ana a Lucas raua ko Kylie Brown? Kia ora te whanau katoa. Kia kaha.

Maiki Sherman appears at the end of the clip, rocking it in the Maori language. Is New Zealand getting a cultural revolution in between filming Hobbits in 3D for Hollywood audiences, or what? So exciting to see Maori and Polynesian culture thriving. That’s the spirit. It would be awesome to see a leader from the Tamaki Electorate develop and foster Maori Art House Cinema in Tamaki and take Maori and Polynesian cultural operatic performance to cirque de Soleil heights too, in Tamaki.

We need cultural visibility in theater, film, fashion, globally competitive music and dance choreography that’s relatable, emulatable and appealing — across all arts genres diversity to compete with the way visual arts, are being used in political circles today.

In observing political trends in and from the USA – A nation’s arts, proceeds it’s message of political value. There’s no way around that. Art and culture is the artistic armory of Kings to trade within a culturally nuanced global market place.

Now there’s a challenge for a Tamaki electorate leader to foster and ensure for Auckland City’s global presence – for our Prime Minister and nation’s culture and economy growing and feeding into each other, naturally, like enriched dialogue depicting intelligence of expression and maturity of nationhood, in our pride and sense of place – from a paradise nation rich and beautiful in ecological resource.

[Message to Tamaki Electorate - Horiwood Hollywood, is pictured holding Wellington-based Maori-produced magazine Tu Mai in Hollywood California. Held is an image of visual artist, model and talent, Yasmin Bidois, 15, symbolizing people wealth of our young people’s talented potential. Yasmin wears a Hei Tiki in pounamu worn by Wahine Rangatira of the Chiefly ancients – but now, a young woman faces the challenges before her in a modern world. This image depicts a visible age of Maori and Polynesian in the age of iPhone mobile telephony and all media globally.

The artistic statement is: “Maori on French Art fusion via Hollywood, California USA.” All Maori produced media in making this low budget visual message. Put simply – Visibility is our credibility. Let’s get louder and more visual to express and grow Tamaki’s artistic cultural potential in The World and to compete in a global economy. Korowai evening dress, Yves St Laurent, couture of France, 1952. In honor of French-Maori connection in the arts, as Yasmin also symbolizes by blood. We are New Zealand art. Let’s get visual with sophisticated production budgets in creating our own globally appealing artists and messangers of cultural texts that have an appealing message about who we are as Kiwis. Mauri ‘Ola tatou.

KE$HA’S VIDEO – IT WILL GET BETTER

~Always be yourself – Ke$ha~

Ke$ha, one of our favorite Valley girls of Los Angeles, who introduced us to how Valley girls like to brush their teeth, has made a video.

Her message: “It will get better.”  :)

Buying your very own fresh toothpaste, every month with money from your own job’s earnings, also makes life get so much better too.

There’s so much to look forward to, growing up as a teen. You have your whole exciting future ahead of you. You know it. Up!

TIM GUNN ONCE OVERDID IT IN THE PILL DEPARTMENT, BY MISTAKE

In very Marilyn Monroe styled publicity, Project Runway‘s Tim Gunn fesses up that as a teen, he tried to end his life taking too many pills.

Thankfully, he’s alive to tell the tale. He discovered that fruit flavored skittles, were not only rainbow colored (bright and pretty, like a young fashion designer’s, brand new Spring/Summer ready-to-wear, runway collection), but that they were also much sweeter in taste.

Although the skittles calorie intake was a little high for a good, disciplined, gym boy’s liking, they always would make young Tim, as a teenager smile – from that bright moment forward.

Tim Gunn inspires gay teenagers and teens of America today, with a message of: “hold on, and that life does get better.”  Gunn advocates for The Trevor Project. As most people do in Hollywood. He stresses to teens feeling suicidal, to reach out – and that it will get better. :)

Did I mention, that the American media is so gay today? I’m expecting Liza Minelli to sing in the White House any day now. :)
