CLEAN DRINKING WATER FOR ALL

1 Fact: 1 billion people do not have clean drinking water. Where: Africa and India are most affected.

The threat: More people are lost in the world through this situation than war.

The solution: We can make a difference through UNICEF Tap Project. If you want to, please do.

True fact 2: For as little as $10, one person can have clean drinking water for a lifetime.

That’s like a beer at a Hollywood club with the tip. Amazing aye! Act. Bump this post on too. Let’s flow. :)

AND WHY EXACTLY IS THAT HAND THERE?

Born on the 4th July/ Lady Gaga News:

Stars go through moments of enduring ‘people with no space-zone’ boundary guides. This picture of Lady Gaga with a well meaning fan putting a gloved hand on her boob, says it all. Okay, it was quality brown leather, but even still! Step away from the junk. It’s like Heather Mills has leapt on her. Parlaying from this pic, via The Superficial to current Gaga news then, here’s what Stefani Germanotta has to say when blowing her own trumpet about her own amazingness on her upcoming album, Fried this way? Says Gaga:

“A marriage of electronic music with major, epic, dare I even say, metal or rock ‘n’ roll, pop, anthemic style melodies with really sledge-hammering dance beats. It’s finished and all, it’s just fine-tuning everything. I think that lyrically this album is more poetic. It’s really written by the fans, they really wrote it for me because every night they’re funnelling so much into me.”

It’s nice to hear how Funneled This Way is coming along. It does seem like this girl has been harping on about this album for a while now. Seriously though, the prolific and productive Manhattan raised Gaga–really should tell fans to get their hands off her junk, because this photo is insane.

A WEE NOTE TO LADY GAGA FANS

Well Hello, Hello: For those of you requesting “where is all your Gaga news at?” I can say these things:

a) it’s about the music. (not the peroxide, the weaves, or biting Santa’s head off in concerts, or gawdy clothes/ outfits either)

b) she did make the top ten list of trending stars on this blog for 2010.

That’s all I have to say on that at this minute. Happy holidays.

CYNTHIA GERMANOTTA LOSES FATHER-IN-LAW JOSEPH GERMANOTTA

Cynthia Germanotta was on deck to pull her family together, at the loss and bereavement of Joseph Germanotta, a husband, a father, father-in-law and grandfather of New Jersey.

Commanding her daughter to pull her bootlaces together on her five inch platform heels and find the dignity of soul to shift her focus to support her grandmother in her time of deep grief. Cynthia was taking no nonsense from anyone in her Amy Winehouse gold ballet slippers and clutching her starbucks coffee with the matching Hilary Clinton hair do she sports with her famous pop star daughter, sans wigs.

In a very classy press release, via the UK Daily Mail, these were the wishes of the Germanotta family via Stefani’s PR machine:

“The obituary in the Star-Ledger said Mr Germanotta had lived in New Jersey.

He was self-employed and had served in the Army during World War II.

He was survived by his wife of 57 years, Angeline, as well as his son Jospeh and granddaughters – Gaga and her sister Natali.

The obituary asked that in lieu of flowers, donations were made to the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s research at www.michaeljfox.org.

Joseph Germanotta was an amazing guy. He fought for country and also produced talented grandchildren. It’s not like Joe Jackson passing away-because the Germanotta’s are new on the music scene, really, but still, this man is an enigma – whose life story is well worth looking into for what he gifted his family and country.

Joseph Germanotta represents the one in ten Americans on a veterans of war benefit due to service in the U.S troops. Quite a story this weekend. Sympathies to Angeline Germanotta. 57 years of marriage. What a story. What a sad day.

COW COUTURE – STEFANI GERMANOTTA ON RIGHTS, PETA ON BUTCHERY

Lady Gaga on her cow couture, meat dress: “Well, it is certainly no disrespect to anyone that is vegan or vegetarian. As you know, I am the most judgement-free human being on the earth. However, it has many interpretations. For me this evening, if we don’t stand up for what we believe in and if we don’t fight for our rights pretty soon, we’re going to have as much rights as the meat on own bones. And, I am not a piece of meat.”

PETA’s Ingrid Newkirk on same said outfit: “Lately, Lady Gaga has been having a hard time keeping her act ‘over the top… wearing a dress made of cuts of dead cows is offensive enough to bring comment, but someone should whisper in her ear that there are more people who are upset by butchery than who are impressed by it. Meat is the decomposing flesh of a tormented animal who didn’t want to die, and after a few hours under the TV lights, it would smell like the rotting flesh it is and likely be crawling in maggots — not too attractive, really.”

Wise people have always considered the welfare of animals. Synonymous with being a good person. Farmers tend their flocks, to both kill and replenish their herds. This is the history of human survival.

“Judgement-free.” A strong buzz word.

THE HORIWOOD TOP TEN – MON 9.13.10

“I’m beautiful in my way, cos God makes no mistakes. I’m on the right track. Baby, I was born this way.”

Although Lady Gaga‘s next reinvention is to convince the world that she was actually born to a Will Harris grass-fed cow in Atlanta, in order to make her next $62 million in a year; it was this Upper East side Manhattan raised girl’s big night last night at the MTV VMA Awards. Who said that you can’t be raised affluent and still feel the pulse of a new generation on the ground in your own country?

A rarity, she is a princess of America who still battled and clawed her way to the top, in a recession era–with a lot of critics along with phenomenal invisible backing. Props!

Chelsea Handler clocked up heat too with a critics controversy. And, Georgio Armani‘s fashion sketches rated today too. Here’s our top ten entertainment and celebrity news posts, as voted worldwide today. Enjoy.

1. Critics grill Chelsea Handler like a plastic meat dress under a blowtorch

LADY GAGA VANITY FAIR COVER II

Although this second image of Stefani Germanotta (stage name, Lady Gaga) is being touted as Vanity Fair‘s big stylish Magazine Cover reveal this week for her many fans worldwide, I have to say, it’s very five-months-old West Hollywood styling.

Go here to get my drift.

What ever happened to the days where Vanity Fair produced images of elegance in fashion? And is Lady Gaga’s ‘style’ team running out of good ideas to get Germanotta noticed more?

The eyebrow situation of the shoot is very Italiano. That’s kinda authentic.

STEPHANIE SALDANA’S THE BREAD OF ANGELS WRITES OF SPIRIT AND LOVE IN WAR TODAY

Stephanie Saldana‘s The Bread of Angels speaks of where the world is at today, when discussing cross-cultural and different faiths of the world at this time in our history. Dialogue has always been about having the humility to learn from others.

“Above all, a love story . . . a page-turner that keeps you up nights.”–Geraldine Brooks said of Saldanas book.

The inside cover notes say: “In 2004, twenty-seven-year-old Stephanie Saldana arrives in Damascus with a broken heart and a haunted family history that she has crossed the world to escape. She has come on a fellowship to study the role of Jesus in Islam, but speaks very little Arabic, has no friends in the city, and has no place to live. Nor is it an ideal time to be in their region–the united States has recently invaded neighboring Iraq, and refugees are flooding into the streets of Damascus. Still, Stephanie does the only thing she can think of: she begins knocking on doors in the Christian Quarter, asking strangers if they have a room to rent. So begins The Bread of Angels, the unforgettable memoir of one woman’s search for faith, love, and the meaning of her life in the place she leasts expects to find it.

Before long, Stephanie is offered an airy room in a glorious, dilapitated house. She begins to stumble through Arabic and to make the Old City her home. But after a series of disheartening developments, she leaves to spend a month in an ancient Christian monastery carved into the Syrian desert cliffs. (more…)

ANNE ST VINCENT MEETS STEFANI GERMANOTTA

Anne St Vincent sits down with Stefani Germanotta to help calm her down and unruffle her rockstar Elmo feathers for a morning.

A cute picture tweeted from Annie. The special K serial in the background, steals the show. It’s always surreal that in the short space of a year, Lady Gaga has become one of the touchstones of American celebrity today. So much so, that I just created an Anne St. Vincent tag, on this blog–as St Vincent rocks on up the star ladder today of show biz. Nice work.

WHISKEY BRAVO TATTOO by ANGELINA JOLIE for BRAD PITT

In Lady Gaga‘s new song, she moves passed “red wine” as a buzz word, to claim “whiskey” as part of her fame hogging branding evolution.

Here’s Angelina Jolie‘s answer to that move on the Hollywood chess board: According to Jezebel’s readers, Jez thinks she might have cracked the code on Angelina Jolie’s new tattoo. Here’s her theory: “I think it reads Whiskey Bravo. My logic: She says : “Um, it’s for Brad. Brad’s real name is William Bradley Pitt. According to the alphabet the military use: William Bradley = Whiskey Bravo.”

Wow, Sherlocks of flesh ink, always get my attention. They done their time to have a real opinion.

NEW SONG: LADY GAGA FOR SIR ELTON JOHN’S WHITE TIE AND TIARA BALL

You and I. Red wine. Live. Gaga.

For those of you requesting, a ‘creative’ Horiwood commentary on Lady Gaga, this one’s for you. It’s no secret, that 1/4 of the almost 2.3 million blog hits on this blog, are due to crazy Lady Gaga snapshots of ‘pop’ culture, I’ve posted in the past. So, with that tradition in mind—here’s your wish].

After Jerry Seinfeld blabbed on radio, after watching Lady Gaga’s behavior at the New York Yankee’s match, where she was removed from the crowd and put in his box, that he had paid for–he said “Who is this person? And just wake me up, when it’s over,” (yeah, Mr. Seinfeld needs to do one of those “corporate, Change-Management courses” in the mode of the movie Up In The Air, to get up to speed on his American culture),  Lady Gaga returned to her own box, the live stage, with this new little number.

Did she write this song, especially for Jerry? Did she write it for a President, in hot pursuit of her lucrative fan base as she has the world’s ear. If she wrote this song as a response to Seinfeld’s comments and dig about her, being the toast of New York, their home town–then this is a cute little number for The Big Apple. There’s Something About This Place lyrics, could allude to the fact she did. Your thoughts?

GEN. STANLEY A McCRYSTAL SEES THE PRESIDENT

President Barack Obama recalled Gen. Stanley A. McCrystal from Afghanistan yesterday, for a 20 minute meeting, where America’s top commander abroad had to address comments, in his Rolling Stone Magazine article, where he describes Obama as “uncomfortable and intimidated” when they first met, and when asked about Joe Biden, the General had replied “bite me.”

If you have a sense of humor, perhaps this response is to be expected from the man who oversees American soldiers for the President, who average out to $1 million per year for the U.S serving the Western world in war. However, Stanley’s words are all over the media today–and have landed him in a bit of strife in the homeland.

LADY GAGA ATTENDS HER SISTER’S SACRED HEART GRADUATION

Although she may give chiffon a bad name, Lady Gaga‘s heart is in the right place. Here she is attending her little sister’s graduation day at the Convent of The Sacred Heart School, in Upper East Side NYC.

Her little sister, should be so proud. A good effort. I am totally loving this picture today. :)

LARRY KING GOES GAGA

Lady Gaga demonstrates the art of mimicry (the Gaga way) as she wears suspenders/ a tie too–while Larry King interviews her on Larry King Live for CNN.

Fake blonde hair (mimicing Madonna who mimmiced Marilyn Monroe). Red lips. John Lennon glasses. The British Queen’s cup of tea in bone china tea cup. And mimicking/ reflecting back whose interviewing you — will get you everywhere. This is the art of Gaga, when she’s not on a music stage singing.

Watch her here. If you must.

THE HORIWOOD TOP TEN – SUN 5.30.2010

Today we honor the life of Dennis Hopper –a gentleman, artist, leader and Hollywood great. #1. Here’s the open road of the easy rider featured above with Dennis, Peter Fonda and Jack Nicholson.. American flag for Dennis’ stellar cinematic and artistic legacy by Tiffanys.

Lady Gaga releases the music video for Alejandro, tomorrow. Major world news. It is her 7th record breaking top ten hit on the World Music charts. No other artist has achieved this from one album in history, except her. As war seems to take up a lot of our attention and resouces, time and energy, here’s a comparative contrast between Stefani Germanotta‘s Dirty Rich song and some thought-provoking poetry, beneath your top ten today.

In New Zealand, poetry is called the breath–or in Maori “te ha.” So, I’m going to let newcomer artiste and sometimes poet, Miss Tessa contrast the spirit of what the lyrics “bang, bang” could mean–from two American girls who are both artists. Rest in Peace Dennis Hopper. He was a great.

1. Dennis Hopper was a great man. 74. RIP Hollywood’s Easy Rider

2. OperaPuccini ‘s Madame Butterfly is still a hit

3. Meet Japan’s Lady Gaga, Ayumi Hamasaki is hot

4. Prince Harry Windsor gets his wings

5. Ugg Boots for the weekend by Britney Spears

6. Dennis Hopper is diagnosed with prostate cancer

7. Hoop Earrings by Madonna for Interview Magazine

8. Beauty is more than skin deep–4 supermodels sans make up

9. Angelina Jolie is triumphant in Salt

10. Black Rain Poetry by Hone Tuwhare

This particular, Lady Gaga video version, stars the Darlings with Mr Donald Sutherland at the helm of this American TV show’s fictitous New York family. Miss Tessa’s Jackson Pollack-esque poetic words follow, after the jump to compare to Germanotta’s thoughts on war. Thanks Ladies. What a show. :)

LADY GAGA IS 2nd MOST FAMOUS SUPERSTAR, OTHER THAN OBAMA

~America has a new first lady of pop culture~

Stefani Germanotta is about to become Twitter’s #1 celebrity with the most followers real soon. Fame wise globally though, Lady Gaga is second on the Famecount index of 97.7%,. Barack Obama is the only person whose a more popular “social media star in the world” than Gaga. She’s unstoppable and a mouthpiece of change. Wowsa! Congrats honey. What a superstar!

Lady Gaga proves she can generate symbols of fame, American pop iconography of the past, that are recycled… at a rate that matches the best publicists in the white house. And… she’s not on tax payers dollars. Wowsa! She’s a marketing extraordinaire that represents crazy fun–with classically trained musical talent that has a freakish “monster” quirky twist.

Judging by her popularity as voted by the populous, White House appearances and performance dates–are coming the way of this Teacher of A New America.  Let’s keep up, with her star trekking wake. Wow!:)

LADY GAGA TREKS OUT HER ALEJANDRO VIDEO IN LA TODAY

With her Latino friendly lyrics, Lady Gaga is trekking out her Alejandro music video shoot today as shot by S. Klein.

Casting involved no latinos amongst the extras–just white twinks wearing black Spok Wigs. Interesting.

Let’s see what America’s #1 pop sensation of the 2010′s has to say concerning the Latino situation in America via her art. Love her.

INSIDE GAGA HOT TIP -ALEJANDRO IS FILMED IN LA

~”She’s got a halo around her finger, around you”–songwriter Stefani Germanotta~

Yes. Lady Gaga really is filming the music video of Alejandro in Los Angeles, this Wednesday. With Arizona looking a little fraught in the USA right now, concerning immigration laws rhetoric… you bet this song will be a US #1 hit song. The people will vote and speak with their downloads.

Hola America! Let’s rock it out!  1 in 4 children in American kindergartens are of Latina/ Latino descent. Although border control is definitely an issue in America, it has to be said too that the future of America, beyond our own temporal view of what America is ‘perceived’ to be… depends on 25% of these American children feeling loved and secure.

Why should they hide who they are or feel ashamed? All American children deserve to grow up feeling loved. So…  Let’s go Tribe Gaga. :)

Alejandro currently sits at #17 on the music charts the other side of the world in New Zealand… in a nation that at the last census defined its population as consisting of only 34,743 Middle Eastern, Latin American or African residents.

In the nation’s capitol, salsa dancing is one of the hottest cultural activities–one can participate in, perhaps indicating that Latin culture is the next big trend on the horizon.

ROYAL NEW ZEALAND BALLET AND GLEE DO LADY GAGA’S BAD ROMANCE

Two things. Here’s the stunningness that is the Royal New Zealand Ballet troupe performing Lady Gaga‘s Bad Romance. Watch above. And America’s favorite musical TV show, Glee also perform their take on the same song. Loves!

From High Culture (ballet) to pop culture (Glee) across both ends of the earth, Stefani Germanotta is a cultural phenomenon. She fuses these differences together as an artist. Hot! And how rad are these hot ballet b*tches from New Zealand. So hot! Love them. :)

LADY GAGA ON UPCOMING ALEJANDRO MUSIC VIDEO

Lady Gaga says these things about her upcoming music video for song, Alejandro to Extra TV‘s Teri Seymour on the set of American Idol. The Italian-American pop star says:

“”I’m shooting this video with Steven Klein. I’m so excited, but like all of my videos, I don’t know what it’s going to look like until it’s finished.

LADY GAGA AND ISABELLA ROSELLINI ATTEND MARINA ABRAMOVIC AT MOMA

An artist will always support other artists. Their work is food and creative fuel to inspire true art from new artists. So this post tickled my fancy today.

‘Lady Gaga made a surprise visit to New York’s Museum of Modern Art this afternoon to check out the work of famed performance artist Marina Abramović. The exhibition, titled ‘The Artist Is Present,’ is a tribute to Abramović’s 40-year career, highlighting the artist’s video works, installations and photographs, as well as solo and collaborative performances. Abramović’s most popular piece, ‘The Artist Is Present,’ involves the artist sitting with one person at a time for an intense experience that often leaves museum goers in tears. Gaga did not participate, but all it took was one tweet for word of her presence to spread like wildfire this afternoon, with user “juliaxgulia” tweeting that Gaga had entered the exhibit and that the popstar’s shoes were “unreal.” Naturally. Thankfully eagle-eyed photographer, Joseph Holmes, was on hand to snap pics. Check them out and even more celebs we’ve spied in the hot seat.

TL;DR: GAGA WENT TO MOMA. OTHER PEOPLE WERE THERE TOO ISABELLA ROSELLINI, CHRISTINE AMANPOUR, THAT CHICK THAT’S MARRIED TO MICHAEL C. HALL THAT I CAN’T EMBED SO JUST CLICK HERE DAMNIT)
