SHOWMAN KANYE WEST BLOGS HIS APOLOGY TO TAYLOR SWIFT
He has the hottest America girlfriend in US modelling, Amber Rose, so perhaps he can be forgiven for getting carried away with him impetuous bad self! Ever the showman, if Kanye West didn’t do pranks like robbing Taylor Swift of her moment of glory, and cutting in on her speech, stealing the VMA show, than it perhaps wouldn’t be as entertaining as it was.
Kanye West, love him or loathe him brought the drama last night. No one’s sure for certain, whether his interruption of Swift’s speech was staged by MTV, between West, Swift, Beyonce and Jay-Z to create a finale that could somehow equal the brilliant Michael Jackson tribute opener by MJ performance footage/ Madonna and Janet. The show had to be balanced out somehow after a great opening tribute number to the King of Pop, so this creative interruption from Kanye provided the big payoff moment for Taylor Swift, and put Swift ahead of Lady Gaga and Pink after Beyonce herself of course. Hey, that’s how showbiz and stars keep the star power close to their chests. Jay-Z is perhaps the King of this, behind the scenes.

RIHANNA’S BOLD FASHION STATEMENT TO LADY GAGA – FASHION NIGHT OUT NYC
Rihanna is sick of Lady Gaga getting all of her fashion magazine covers and popstar attention.
So Princess Riri, dressed herself up in Grace Jones gear and fashion accessories and made her statement at Fashion Night Out: A Global Celebration of Fashion in NYC, Thursday night, that Lady Gaga is not the only pop princess with #1 hits who can be fashion fierce.
Being a global fashion event, Rihanna is also giving a shout out, to First Lady Michelle Obama, who shares the December cover of Glamour Magazine’s Christmas issue, 2009. Rihanna had just finished her photo shoot, Michelle Obama is next, so she says to Mrs Obama “it’s your turn” now. She’s also shouting out to Gaga. It’s a political pop thing.
I am sure every pop star, actress, woman in entertainment, thanks Rihanna for popping Lady Gaga‘s ego by doing her far out and freaky Alien Princess rendition of Whitney Houston in The Bodyguard.
Wearing the black hood, like Grace Jones (and Whitney), Rihanna takes back the hood that Lady Gaga once used on her Poker Face album cover, to make Gaga look ‘mysterious.’
Rihanna also wears even more mysterious looking glasses than Lady Gaga ever has to send the shivers down Stefani Germanotta’s spine, that yes Rihanna has better fashion designers and stylists giving her the best fashion shizzle first.
Rihanna’s jewelry (bracelets and earrings) take pieces of Lady Gaga’s disco stick and accessorize the pop princess from Barbados with a fashion edge that pushes the boundaries.
Finally, to make her point really clear, Rihanna has a message glued in sequins to her clutch purse. The message says: “Such a [freakin] Lady. Now Your Turn.”
The message is, look out Lady Gaga, you’ve only done one album and I’m so sick of your over exposure! Rihanna, of course has had #1 hits off two albums. Her second album, Good Girl Gone Bad, had more than double the #1 hits that Lady Gaga’s The Fame album has had. So Rihanna makes a good fashion statement on the matter.
You just know that after his healthcare speech, Thursday, that Barack Obama called Jay Z after seeing Lady Gaga’s Vogue Homme Japan photo shoot weirdness and the new President said:
“Jay, can you send Rihanna out there and shut that crazy Gaga girl down. She’s making America look bad! She’s getting a bit too weird.”
I kid. It’s actually a flattering tribute from Rihanna to Lady Gaga, to give the new kid, a shout out at all. Love it! Rihanna is a builder not someone who knocks another down. She knows what its like to be knocked down, and this Barbadian girl is a very generous and warm soul.
In 2007 Rihanna won big at the World Music Awards for World’s Best-Selling Pop Female Artist and Female Entertainer of the Year, as well as the 2008 American Music Awards for Favorite Soul/R&B Female Artist and Favorite Pop/Rock Female Artist. Rihanna has attained five Hot 100 number one singles, becoming the first of the only two female artists with the most number ones attained within the 2000s decade. She also serves as one of Barbados’ honorary cultural ambassadors as an ambassador of youth and culture.
As someone who knows what achievement is in pop, she’s actually congratulating Lady Gaga here, and saying welcome to the club for all of your achievements in pop music this year. A nice nod from Rihanna to the new girl.

Like Michael Jackson, Britney Spears is a pop icon, who blew up into solo superstardom when she was a youngster. Brit Brit’s big moment came when she was a teen so it’s only fitting that she will perform at the Teen Choice Awards. She’s officially booked the gig.
Of course, Brit Brit is following her golden rule– that being– she only turns up to an awards show these days if she’ll actually win an award. She’s smart. Spears has been nominated for three Teen Choice Awards this round.
We wonder what song she’s going to do? Hopefully it’s a new hit with some retro Britney mixed in. That would be hot. Spears will appear on the Fox aired awards show Monday, August 10th.
A brilliant spin doctor of her own career and image, she positioned herself as the comeback kid in her late 20s, but still on ‘curfew’ aka the ‘conservatorship’ which has made her totally relatable to teens.
Despite her ditzy blonde hair extensions and trailer trash jokes she hides behind (it’s classic Britney dark humor), Spears is one of the most savvy marketers in show biz.
Her teen choice nominees show just how much the once ‘picture perfect’ pop star, still knows how to strike a chord with teens worldwide. Nice work Team Britney!

This music video reeks of all kinds of wrong, so you just know that kids are going to love it. The Miss Lolitas want a share of the pop music market.
Think….. the youth of Miley Cyrus + the blonde-trash-tasticness of Lady Gaga’s sensationalism with blonde wigs and accessories….. and you have this group’s pop music target market nailed.
Something tells me, they need a stronger reason to form a group and be together. Like, some originality in their gathering of purpose to be sustainable long term.

Apple are so clever at growing their brand. Music is the key to all of their products. You know it. In fact, in China, even under a heavy regime of censorship in Communist rule, the only thing the Chinese people unanimously say they’ve missed out on, about Western life and culture is, access to pop stars and music.
The future of the internet and also any software or digital media devices by any software company at growing markets (including into the 1 billion plus people in China) is music dependent.
Because Apple knows this, they’ve been working hard to grow their music related media packages with iTunes.
Here’s the latest: Apple and the four major record labels, Warner Music, EMI, Sony Music, and Universal Music Group have partnered to create virtual bundles that have online interactive features. All music related marketing to grow their brand. They’ve dubbed it Cocktail.
The gimmick offers sleeve notes, photos, lyric sheets, music videos with selected music downloads. An interactive book, allows a virtual album experience, where your favorite singers’ songs can be played directly from the book.
Nice. What next? The virtual concert experience too? You know it! Miley Cyrus needs to be offered a deal from Apple, to head that up. She’s got the jump on that.
Cocktail launches in September and if Apple are as smart as they say they, the Michael Jackson packaged bundle will be freakin amazin, if they want this concept to take flight in the world with success.
If they’re really smart… Apple iTunes will also create the WhoDunnit: What killed Michael Jackson Virtual Boardgame too… which is the favorite game the media are playing here in the US right now, to sell their advertiser’s space for bucks in a recession. MJ + Music = big money ya’ll.
