A SHANIA TWAIN FESTIVE GREETING SPEAKS OF LOVE
Shania Twain who is an occasional resident of Queenstown, New Zealand (pictured below) and who has may-jah fans in Australia writes an email that’s uploaded to her blog for fans.
Seasons greetings to all!
I’ve spent much time over the course of this past year, learning about others who have suffered loss in their lives and taken inspiration from how they’ve managed to overcome it. I’m learning that grief and the suffering of loss, challenges me to be more sensitive and understanding of other’s and also more accepting of my own struggles. Challenge reminds me how important it is to let those who love me, care for me when I need it. The support of others has helped me to move forward less fearful of change, allowing me to embrace the beauty of life today and remain more open to whatever it brings tomorrow.
The people who make my life the most joyful are the ones I am able to lean on because of my own humanness. (more…)
THE HORIWOOD TOP TEN – MON 12.20.10
Husband. What husband, says the UK when selecting their most favorite wedding pic of Nicole Richie‘s big wedding day with Benji Madden. UK media prefer a picture of American interracial and intergenerational family-star power with Nicole and her dad Lionel Richie for this magazine cover and an image of modern family.
A very sweet picture of Michael Jackson‘s god-daughter and her dad. What a beautiful bride, Richie was. Weddings, marriage romance, commitment in love from two people to each other rising above (through and past) current economic times and anything that politicians may (or may not) say– is the new trend of the 2010′s. Long live true love.

GALLANTRY by BRIAN AUSTIN GREEN
Sometimes gallantry is letting someone you love, have their space.
Brian Austin Green gets deep talking to show biz spy on how his relationship to Megan Fox has stood the test of time to date.
He explains why they both split a little while last year. Here’s that interview:
“The reality is, she was 18 when I met her and she went through an enormous change in her life… just her career in general and going from being a girl who — when I met her, she was living in New York doing Hope & Faith and we’d go to restaurants and I was the person everybody would recognize and point and laugh at or whatever,” he said.
“And all of a sudden that turned around and she couldn’t go anywhere and her name and her face were everywhere. So, she went through the natural period of, ‘I’m not sure if I’m ready to be in such a settled relationship.’
“I didn’t want her to feel like she was stuck because she said she wanted to be in a relationship to begin with and we just never really went in different directions. We’d say, ‘Oh, let’s kind of take a break and see what’s going on.’ It always came back together.
“I have an eight-year-old, he was two at the time, when Megan and I met. She helped me raise him and it’s a huge responsibility. There was a lot to it.
“She’s amazing.”
I like Brian Austin Green’s thoughts at this time in Hollywood with so many splits taking place not only in Tinsel Town but across the US in tough economic times.
It’s always wise to reconcile two warring parties, if that’s possible. The way of the wise is to make peace.
Breathe people… is the message.

THE NORMALLY RESERVED BRITS ARE GETTING A LITTLE OTT
David Cameron, Prime Minister of Britain got hit by Young Royals Romance fever, declaring Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding a public holiday, reports The New York Post

LORD OF THE RINGS – PRINCE WILLIAM’S PRINCESS DIANNA TRIBUTE AS A SYMBOL OF HIS LOVE FOR KATE MIDDLETON
How romantic. In turning up for a photo call with the British Media – Prince William Windsor and his bride to be Kate Middleton both looked a picture of love and all things romantic pertaining to a lifelong commitment to each other and inspiring growth and well being for a Commonwealth Empire.
Their engagement ring belonged to Princess Dianna of Wales and of the ring appearing on Kate’s finger as her engagement ring, Prince William had this to say:
“It is very special to me. It was my way to make sure my mother did not miss out on today and the excitement that we are going to spend the rest of our lives together.”
What a sweet thing to say and do. I don’t thing anyone in celebrity land can trump that. This couple are the super romantics of their generation. Needless to say, the woman that last wore this ring had one of the greatest hearts of compassion of any humanitarian of the modern world. Perhaps Kate as the wearer of this ring, will do the same in the world. But no pressure! :)
Image below of Prince William on his debut public presentation to the world, when his mother chose Waitangi of the Bay of Islands, Northland, New Zealand to present this crown Prince to the world’s eyes.
She was a great woman who chose for her son’s presentation to be surrounded with songs, color and beauty of the Ngapuhi, Ngati Hine, Te Rarawa, Te Aupouri maori tribes of New Zealand. On his presentation day to the world’s gaze, he was surrounded by the sounds of Te Reo Rangatira (or, the language of Chiefs). Below is a song, that was sung on this day, called Te Whare e Tu Nei – written by songwriter of Matauri Bay, Katerina Mataira - whose name ironically means Katherine in English. Her song’s title when translated means, This House That Stands. Diana had impeccable taste that her son seems to have inherited in his choice of a wife and a star maker of leaders of a modern world faced with new challenges, requiring a gift of wisdom to be creative towards sustainability in the world’s good future.
It’s nice to see William honor his mother by bringing her engagement ring back into play in the eyes of the world, as a homage to a woman who never saw this Kiwi-presented future King’s engagement day. It’s like full circle of their bond reclaimed in honoring Diana’s memory and his new love with Kate.

A wooden buzzy bee Kiwi-made child’s toy was the first paparazzi photographed item, Prince William ever owned to amuse audiences worldwide. The toy that is made of wood is iconic to New Zealand. This one as featured on the cover of North & South magazine, courtesy of Buzzy Bee.Co.NZ .
Prince William is like every Kiwi’s little brother in a sense of those who watched his parents marry in 1981. Myself, being just one of many, now blogging about this momentus day in his life from California. Surreal stuff. To visit Waitangi for yourself – a right of passage for all people in the U.K who have followed the royals for years, go here to discover more on how to do that. It’s the region where I grew up.

COWGIRL FEMINISM – JESSICA SIMPSON DOESN’T WANT A PRENUP WITH ERIC JOHNSON
Jessica Simpson News: With news today in the USA, consuming everyone that Jessica Simpson is engaged to ex NFL Footballer Eric Johnson and does NOT want to sign a prenup of her $100 million fortune, this seems to be upsetting everyone. Always a humorist, if you’ve followed Jessica’s career? at all, these are my thoughts on the matter.
1. It’s her money. Who cares? She can do what she wants with it.
2. As an ‘artist’ whose always stood for romance, she asks key questions in the form of this ‘gossip tid bit’ of: what is Love? Is it not always a risk? Isn’t love more important than money? Hilarious and yet so true.
She has a point for her generation, because due to the economy being low, no one’s getting married or having babies here in the US (stats prove these rates are low). The psychological thought ruling America is monetary gain, instead of love or courage in a strong American future to raise kids– predominating, so I like the way Simpson is rolling on this one, to challenge the grinch that has America’s wedding fingers barren and wombs locked up right now, over a stupid “-$” symbol. She’s a bit of a grinch slayer, like a female-David shepherd girl, slaying an invisible giant of debt and fear, strangling America’s emerging generation. She’s armed with a wedding ring rock, and a no-prenup sling. She’s hilarious!
3. Simpson adds value to her star brand, by alluding she’s not about bucks.
4. She shows ‘independence’ from her manager dad, whose not forcing strongly persuading her to sign a prenup.
5. She gives her man, Eric Johnson the max opportunity, to either a) know she loves him more than money and b) lift his game pronto and earn as much as she does.
Good Texan cowgirl wisdom. Let’s see if this spicy taco-loving, singing comedian, skips down the aisle after this couple’s most talked about American engagement of the year.
On a sidenote – Who thought that Jessica is worth as much as Elin Nordegrand post the Tiger Woods divorce, when Jess has never been near a golf iron. She’s surprising. Her new album about ‘love’ is out soon. No matter which way you look at Jessica Simpson, she’s doing modern ‘cowgirl feminism’ for wont of a better term. When girls of today, think being tough or cool, is having ‘total control’ of everything, Jess is doing the opposite. She says, I know a better way than that.
Love gives. Lust controls. She’s Radical.

THANKS FOR THE BLOG LOVE PEOPLE!
Today was the biggest growth day on the blog in two months.
Thanks for the mad love everyone. Together, we’re making history.
God bless you all. Thank you.
Let’s rock this, together!

What I have learned at this point blogging, is that Maori-Kiwis really can live away from whanau (family) iwi (tribe) in the US full time, for 4 and a half years now.
I’ve learned that I love America, more than most people claim they do.
This is a great nation, diverse and beautiful and I feel very privileged and blessed to have been a small part of it, during some very interesting years. As most of you who read the blog are American, “thank you,” have faith in yourself, as many of us (your friends who are non-American) do. We believe in you!
No matter what the day may serve up, may a growing bond never change between you and your allied nations of friends. When you’re down, it us who, within reason, hold your arms up in shared victory. That’s what real friends are for. Kiwis (New Zealanders) are such real people. We don’t quit good people. The victory is not always monetary. A change for you all perhaps in these not always smooth, political years and growing pains. Instead, the victory we share together is a shared world for future generations, beyond temporary moments of instant gratification known as ‘our lifetime.’
On that note, here’s a group of lads, all of whom are perhaps much more noble than me –yet not one has my profile, even though they all should– whose ancestors all raised them to think of their grandchildren’s grandchildren. Here’s some more Maori entertainment from the priceless lads of K2 Maori Company.
Blogging in H-Wood, most days I feel like one of these bros. Not much different to any one them. I believe that not enough Maori men are seen or visible at high profile levels of leadership in the world. Yet the world needs what Maori men know culturally, at this point in world history. Especially in America, hence a motivating reason of why I blog.
Incidentally, most Kiwi kids grew up singing this song. I was about ten? I think, when I first learned it with my siblings, next door neighbors and friends. I still know all the words off by heart. When I was in Hawaii I heard some Hawaiian bros singing this hori jingle too, so it’s a bit of a global hit, worth sharing. Americans… you’re quite surprising people, to know this song. Thank you all for being a part of our diverse view, that includes Maori presence (taste preferences and observations) daily too in Hollywood and America. Mauri ‘Ola - life to you!
Golden couple of the day: Jessica Simpson & Eric Johnson

U2 IS PERFORMING IN NEW ZEALAND – THE VIEW OF THE HOLLYWOOD HILLS FROM LITTLE RUSSIA, WEST HOLLYWOOD – 11.13.10
Only Love wins.
Photographs of the Hollywood Hills, the local Russia Delhi in front of where I live in Little Russia that serves up the best caviar in West Hollywood, Angelina Jolie‘s latest billboard 30 yards from home and the open street view of fair Santa Monica Blvd today.
As I upload these pictures to share with you all, I’m reminded that super rockers U2 are performing live in New Zealand soon.
My Maori-Kiwi Helensville-raised mom is in her 70′s and is so excited when talking on the telephone that U2 are performing not too far from her Whangarei City hood in Auckland The Supercity soon.
She really wants to go and see Bono, The Edge and the lads live. Gorgeous Maori – Kiwi mums, they’re always too much fun!Where fun is, that’s where they can be found. Fun people need to be recharged with fun too. Mom knows where it’s at! Go Mom! :)
Here’s U2 performing live at the Rose Bowl, Pasadena California in an epic performance. Hollywood is still raving about it today.
Amazing Grace & Where The Streets Have No Name. Up! Liberty looks, feels and sounds like this today. Loving it from these Irish rockers here in Hollywood today. Bring it on!
[Jimi Hendrix Hollywood star, Walk of Fame, complete with Adventurous Maori motif jewelry, Hollywood Blvd California--especially for all kids of Auckland The Supercity, New Zealand and California who want to express themselves on the guitar. Hendrix's music mastery is legendary status music. Avoid all the other stuff, just learn his music. Hot! LOUDER PEOPLE! Skilfully on ten guitars, even. Why not?! Now that's a fine plan!]

RUTH’S SONG written by STEVE APIRANA – 11.12.10
Ruth as the Jewish legend goes was once an immigrant in a foreign land. Though some tried to persuade her to turn back to be with her own people and to forsake the new people she’d joined, her faith kept her in it.
I like Ruth’s spirit. She was an adventurer who had courage. I have a sister whose second name is Ruth. She has courage too, to see others and love people from her heart. She doesn’t see what society sees, she sees their future of great potential. What she does with her Ruth-heart is so inspiring. She’s been that way all her life, so I should really make a bigger fuss of her than I do. I’m just so used to my ‘Ruth sister’ being that way. We all are. But our Ruth is remarkable.
However, this song is dedicated to Aunt Elvira Kanim, who passed away on this day 4 months ago – the first California ‘family member,’ I lost in America. She was sweeter than honey til the end. She died of cancer. She too was an immigrant once. Aunt Elvira taught me a lot and I loved her.
Song written by Steve Apirana, words by the original Ruth.

OBAMA DEFENDER – RESTORE SANITY RALLY
An Obama defender, holds up her “Obama is not the devil, I am” sign proudly, with a smile. Cute.
[Restore Sanity Rally TPM]
Pic 2: In the middle of these signs, symbolizing opposite mentalities , is… a foreigner.
It’s a rough cultural environment to be in. Immigrants can never settle peacefully, always on edge in such conflict.
On a good day, democracy meets in the middle. Usually when the sun’s out and shining bright, I’ve noticed. There’s no ‘devil’ that day.

Commentary on what is the purpose of this rally?: Undoubtedly, the man of the moment award this weekend has got to go to both President Obama & also John Stewart. The latter held a rally where 200,000 plus attended uniting community (always a good move in an impersonal IT age), allowing people to scream and vent frustration (healthy for the lungs and emotional cathartic purposes) and get their picture taken at a ‘historic moment’ (an essential in a media age, & good for phone companies). I kid.
John’s closing in his own words in the clip above, sums it all up. He describes “a reflected Image of “US” through a fun house skewing mirror of the carnivalesque-producing media. He says it is a distorted. True, as it’s ratings driven Media/ Sales propelled based on sensationalism. Stuart being one of the best at the game, which is why he holds the microphone in this clip. 30-40 somethings of the U.S currently love Stuart’s news the best. What a guy!
In summation: Why when we go to war (a polarizing matter) and all politicians love raising debate through intersecting two totally opposing views–to give a feeling of ‘change’, ‘progress’, ‘leadership’–as it gets leaders noticed, when they referee such debate –do we then act surprised when people manipulated by these political and media antics –lose a sense of peace and sanity.
It’s a bit rich. But I’m glad everyone at the rally felt happy about attending that’s awesome. Everyone who attended the Halloween rally? last night in West Hollywood, got exactly the same benefits from it, without political orchestration or interference or a noble man of TV Talk’s verbage either –cementing his own ratings, for further down the track of his career.
Gosh — I need another cup of coffee. That was harsh! Good to see the American people unite though. Together Everyone Achieve More– talk?
Seriously though – we live in an age, where a President must partner with a trusted person who has a platform, because us people are so easily distracted by social media, how else does a leader get their nation’s attention. So Obama-Stuart are a good combo, to give messages to the people.
On that note lets go, New Zealand–LOUDER! :)
[This image Sir Richard Taylor, Oscar Winner, at that Hobbit Rally, t'other side of world--doing what Jon Stewart was doing too, uniting hearts and community--for a future project coming up. We know what Sir Richard's is (Hobbit films in 3D)--I wonder what Stuart's is that he's been assigned. All eyes on Jon as well as Hobbits then. Rallies. Gotta love 'em. They're US.
Here's Israeli artist Ofra Haza & some good MC 80's blokes: As critics say, they don't know what Stewart's rally was about, (it was a Seinfeld episode, done live en mass--a "buncha nothing"), this song can help shed light. The captions in the video clip are what Stewart's rally could be about, defining what to turn up the volume. Things like color, diversity, tolerance, peaceful ways forward, artistic authentic expression being shared equally and cross-culturally--while still getting loud for fun. I was 16 dancing to this song with friends. It's kinda jurassic. Still a goodie though. Lol! My point is--when at the place where all these sites can cross-over freely (in equal give and take opportunities) is where love can be found operating between people. That's still what the world wants. Can a government love us? Or be love teachers? Most governments in the world probably won't. But a good one can, will and does.
The governments that do, will rule the world. Love meets in the middle. Like Middle Ground or Middle Earth where two parties meet. Starting with loving the earth, is a good start. People-care goes hand-in-hand with this thinking of earth-care. There's work to be done. Traditionally family, Church, neighborhood, community--teach these values. We must never forget that. It's the government's to fix the economy and grow it, and then when that's done, philosophy about what love is, can be - should happen after that. There are more people qualified to define what love is, than many politicians spending 60 hours a week in a system that is often worn of love. A politicians desire to have love, tolerance, acceptance is an acknowlegement of the deficit in the political system they are married to, politically and spend all the time in. It's not necessarily what the people think, with different lives outside the political system. I think love ambassadors should be that, politicians politicians. Then cross-over, when all jobs are done. We have government, wanting more love--from the people (worship almost) in a way that needs to be checked. Fix the economy, than praise of the people follows. Alright, these are my thoughts. In the meantime, pump up the volume on "big hearted films" or "big hearted community-shared art" and stuff like that. Fun!

BOLLYWOOD POETIC ROMANCE – HARD MAN VIVEK OBEROI WAXES POETICAL FOR BRIDE PRIYANKA ALVA
Alright, we interupt our American Halloween Show from California to bring some exciting news from Bollywood. It can’t be about Hollywood or Wellywood New Zealand news – all the time! Kiwi celebrity Hollywood bloggers like to share our celebrity focus and global spotlighting skills.
At the time of writing America is obsessing about a Bollywood-Political union of the romantic kind. A man really did marry a woman in India. That’s big news in America. The 7th trending topic in the US right now.
In particular, Vivek Oberoi whose Bollywood’s leading lad at playing an angry young man onscreen in blockbuster Bollywood films, has gone all gooey in the heart, waxing poetical for new wife (married October 29th) Priyanka Alva. A cute story:
Filmitadka reports: ‘In Vivek’s poems, one can feel the sadness yet optimism from a man’s point of view who has been through everything, check out what he wrote – “In a world of only two people who are each other’s world…”
“Every day with her (Priyanka) is a blessing. In a world full of storms, she’s my anchor. I live in a world of masks. I needed someone as real as she is. She is my home. She’s the one I can come home to. She has changed my life”.
‘Priyanka Alva is the daughter of Late Jeevaraj Alva, politician in Karnataka and danseuse Nandini Alva, Vivek and Priyanka married on 29th October.’
A sweet story.

(recipe: fresh tuna, cut in generous chunks, freshly grated ginger, lemon juice, plenty of sesame seed oil and sliced green, spring onion – yummo!). Try this at home in Porirua. Too good to be true.
However, Sidewalk’s or Aunty Sia’s chop suey, isn’t quite as good as the chop suey Miss Universe of Samoa, the one and only Aunty Martha makes (my Aunty and Aunty of Michael Jones and Cathy Collins & Mr Cool - Derek Jones too, obviously!). But definitely a close second.
Now back to our two lovebirds, Kobez and Darrin: You two Wellingtonians are both so lucky, to be in yummo chop suey, rich, Polynesian heat, right now! It’s raining today in otherwise sunny California – the home of Dwayne Johnson.,”The Rock” -formerly of Grey Lyn, Auckers.
Gosh, just thinking about Aunty Sia’s chop suey in Porirua and Aunty Martha’s as well is making me want to play down some major records of The Jets here in Hollywood, but I should show some respect to Brother Love with his Poly club classic we all can get our siva-salsa-haka dance grooves on to. He’s coco-licious cool.
Here’s Roimata for you Wellywood-Hawaiian birds of love to enjoy and all of Porirua City. Like Aunty Sia’s chop suey in colourful Porirua, Brother Love is the best. Playing it down from Hollywood today for all of us in Porirua City, Grey Lyn, California and Hawaii. Heck Yeah! Let’s go Porirua! Up!

ROMANTIC DIRECTORIAL FILMMAKING – ANGELINA JOLIE AND BRAD PITT SUCK FACE ON SET IN BOSNIA
“A film is not a film, unless it is made in the spirit of the filmmaker”–Len Lye, filmmaker of New Plymouth, New Zealand.
Miss Sarajevo of the Hollywood film directing world (aka Angelina Jolie) had all the support she needed for her debut filmmaking outting as camera’s rolled in Bosnia for her “Untitled War Love Story” a novel adapation.
Filming a story set in a dramatic back drop of genocide, rape, human atrocities of war being overcome by love between two people initially cast as enemies will always be a heavy yet redemptive film to create and bring to life on the screen.
Thankfully Jolie has a supportive running mate, with Brad Pitt who constantly encourages and distracts at the right times too, Hollywood’s leading lady – even sucking face at work, when he feels the moment calls. Big romance love. So California, how these two roll!

TAYLOR SWIFT ON THERE IS NO PATTERN, FOR LOVE
Shares Taylor Swift from Parade Magazine: “ there is no pattern. Absolutely nothing is predictable in love or in life.”
Aint that the truth. That makes life, so much more exciting to live and be a part of today.
Who wants to be predictable, when we could be missing the new discoveries of the century? Risk it all, I say, like all of the explorers and discovers before us did. In that moment we are the future.
Having said that, I love predicatable people. They’re different.
Taylor Swift represents the vibe of many young people today, looking on at America, asking what is love? It can be confusing, especially for teens. Here’s one answer. Even when being tested and defined, in spirit, Love goes Up. Our job is to believe in love and take others up to.

WORLD PEACE, POLYNESIAN MUSIC – HOW DEEP IS YOUR LOVE by ADEAZE
To love our enemies is where true love begins
Peace is like a harmonious river that always flows over the rocks and hate-hurled boulders of the human frailties and short-sighted misunderstandings of history’s wars–Horiwood 2010′s for World Peace
Two brothers of New Zealand ask one question in song. That question is very pertinent for all leaders of the civilized world today who claim to know what Peace is, when dishing out Peace Awards on a global stage.
It is a question penned by the Isle of Man born and Australia raised Gibb brothers (of The Bee Gees) of the UK:
How deep is your love?
Here’s Adeaze of New Zealand with that question with their performance as sung by brothers 9z and Viiz Tupa’i of Otara - South Auckland, in The Supercity of New Zealand.
