REFORMED HEROIN ADDICT HELEN BAYLOR, SINGS ALL OF ME, FOR CHRISTMAS 2010
“Mould me in your hands, into a vessel you can use”–song lyrics, the incomparable Helen Baylor
At this minute in Hollywood, a certain malpracticing ‘doctor’ has been accusing a certain A-Listed actress of being a non-reformed and current heroin addict, for his own try hard publicity. This woman has children. And he’s doing this at Christmas time. What a raping grinch!
This is what a real reformed heroin addict does look like. Drug addiction is a disease like any other that is nothing to be proud of or ashamed of either. It’s just something that some good people are or have been afflicted by. Many people in Hollywood, New York and Australia are afflicted by heroine addiction.
This real reformed heroine addict (above) is so beautiful on the inside. Her name is Helen Baylor and for our West Hollywood Christmas Special, Helen sings All of Me live, because in her life, she credits overcoming heroin dependancy on her faith in God. In this song she offers up her life as a broken gift, full of the good, the bad and the plain ugly facts of her life. So powerful! Ms. Baylor makes me bawl my face off when she sings. If you hear her life story, you’ll bawl your face off too. Yet Helen ‘aint ever graced a cover of a tabloid or a visible-to-all magazine. Why is that I wonder? She’s a total winner.
I love her. Stars don’t get more real than Helen Baylor this Christmas. Her story belongs in a future Hollywood film. Helen Baylor’s life is the freaking Christmas story. No one can deny Helen her Christmas story. If you tried, she’d sing you out of the ball park. Go lady! Sing the Christmas blues. Merry Christmas people, especially ya’ll in West Hollywood. This year we are celebrating grinch-freeness in our lives at Christmas.
We are celebrating living lives beyond lies and falsity too. 2011′s hot American goal. It’s actually a miracle many of us are even having a Christmas this year and that we are choosing to. Truly, it is. We overcame a lot this year in two years of the most hideous economy ever, where we still watched the greedy get greedier and act like spoiled children, more uglier to me than heroine addicts are, wanting more so blatantly. That stuff was sick! Average people perhaps like ourselves all got a bit thinner and came out on top this year, still smiling. Wow! How cool are all you people? You’re the best! Let’s keep at it then. Grinch-kicking has become my new sport. Join me in it, in making the world a sweeter place in 2011. Meanness, stingyness (the flipside of greed), let’s kick it to the curb when we see it, to win. Up!
Click on Helen’s picture above to see a winner shine drug free. Her gratitude is medicine. Can’t get enough of her spirit to celebrate living life to the fullest with healthy respect for the gift of life. Wow!

LIVE KIWI JAZZ – CAITLIN SMITH – BATHE IN THE RIVER
For those who grew up, bathing in an Oak Ridge River - laughing lots as kids and dreaming big spirit dreams for the world… this one’s for you.
Caitlin Smith sings Bathe in the River.
Poetic Lyrics by Don McGlashan: Mighty water, hear that rushing sound.
Mighty water, lay my burden down…
Bathe in the River. :)
~Pretty music. Makes me think of Billie Holiday‘s hotness as an artist. She was the sound of a smoky reed saxophone on a blue moon night, beaming freedom’s sound of jazz light across river Jordan. Posted by Horiwood.Com, Hollywood California USA. 11.6.10. Labasa Fiji, Ni Sa Bula Vinaka. Woot!~
THE KNOWLES WOMEN TAKE ON CRYSTAL METH CULTURE WITH THE LAUNCH OF MISS TINA FASHION LINE
I love Beyonce Knowles‘ P.R moves on the celebrity and merch chess board lately. They’re smart, to both make bank and also to speak into an accelerating drug culture as people escape in recession to avoid the reality of a scaled back American dream.
The last week in Hollywood has been insane for people aged 20 to 45 being wasted on stuff-not-alcohol, at some bars. On a level, I’ve never seen before, in terms of the amount of wasted people, has quadrupled.
Don’t get me wrong, like Hollywood is not a convent, so drugs are a part of it, but the level of people wasted, is oppressive. Not because of them being wasted in higher numbers (no pun intended) but because it’s a sign of these economic times, that crushes peoples spirits. That pisses me off. It’s like a silent but present bully, weighing heavy on a generation of Americans psyches. It’s sad to see occurring.
What sucks, is that no one looks happy, either. Like, it’s not like the hippies were happy and cool in the 70′s, rebelling for a social cause. It’s not that look at all. The look is dark and scared. They look glazed and beaten up, in that state. Did I mention, that these California people are incredibly gorgeous though, so it makes the tragedy even more gutting, from an ‘aesthetics’ stand point.
I think of parent artists, who created these canvases called their American children. I don’t think these artists, bled on canvas to tell this kind of American picture. That irks me too. This is inter-generational art, under threat. Being eroded. Gutted. From within the soul. It has to stop. Then there’s the foreboding feeling, that there’s still more knocks to come. They know it too. So perhaps, they are leaders of the next wave of challenges, if they get through these temporal ones.
Wonderland is definitely in reverse. It’s a bit off putting. Like surreality, gone lopsy. A tad bit odd.
As we know, crystal meth drug culture is a big issue. Especially in many L.A communities (not to name hoods). Put simply, crystal meth culture exists for people who can’t afford the culture of diamonds and chandeliers. They’re shut outside it, yet all the role models being held up, are dripping in both. There’s a disconnect, so crystal meth culture exploits this – and the masses get hooked in. It’s a very social drug.
Thankfully in New Zealand we had a crystal epidemic a decade ago. I have a niece named Crystal, who developed her own strategies as a babe, to avoid it, when it hit her generation hard. She’s instinctually smart and an amazing person. And I think of her, when I look at these 40 year-old kids on it. Knowing, that teens and the 50+ set who are most at risk of it, are not even present in the room.
It’s a trip to watch, strip people of their ability to fight back, at what’s costing them their dream in the first place. That one, is going to be around for a while.
When Lady Gaga came on the scene – her Bad Romance video has many crystal symbols in it. In fact, many of Gaga’s fans get her crystal symbology. The same way red wine drinkers do. She’s a marketing genius at producing symbols, to attract and cyphon markets. Beyonce is too, but needs more symbols generated – to now compete at the level Gaga has been with symbols generation.
Since Beyonce switched it up with a good P.R team – her marketing is set to take on drug culture. This week, we saw Beyonce take her diva self to the block – for a block party. This positions her brands within reach of the little people who first made her a star (safety in Beyonce whiplash aftermath from the public that swung to now Gaga-flavored fickle times), but the positioning of Beyonce on the block, also declares her war for community issues and concerns, that happen in neighborhoods, that need an angel (or advocate).
And, she’s now – launching her statement against “tina” culture

SAMUEL G. FREEDMAN ON THE NEW ORLEANS BLACK CHURCHES, LONG SLOW BOUNCE BACK
Samuel G Freedman, has a great article in the NY Times today about black churches slow recovery after Hurricane Katrina’s devastation.
Basically, there used to be 75 churches in New Orleans, only 12 have been able to reopen in the last five years. Rev. Charles Duplessis story touched my heart today. His congregation meets in his home each Sunday. How inconvenient for his wife and children and their family life.
So, sending out some light and love for them today, on this Hollywood blog. Why not?! :)
If you’re interested in reading up on their progress, in the interest of gospel’s deep roots here in America, then go here to read at Herald Tribune. If you’re spiritually inclined, and are in a position to make a change for Rev Duplessis–than you know what to do. :)

TIME HONORS MOTHER THERESA’S WRITTEN WORDS OF LOVE
Mother Teresa was as selfless as she was famous. In fact being selfless was her art of celebrity.
She probably wished she’d been six feet tall and looked like a supermodel, but she smartly got over herself, and this pint-sized lady made a marked difference in the world fronting for the world’s cameras when called upon and asked to for good causes.
Mother Teresa let nothing hide the light of love in her heart for the poor, destitute, sick, homeless, abandoned and forsaken.
Time Magazine pays tribute to Mother Theresa of Calcutta’s words and life’s work of love, in their special commemorative issue of India’s once much-loved leading lady.
She was a giant of a woman in spirit.
Read her handwritten words in this pic, if you need a slice of cake, for your spirit’s nourishment. A reminder to live a life perhaps of love, worthy of keeping a daily diary for. Cheers!

Music by Ree, Do Right Woman, with the message from America, Courage To Love Arabs and Muslims, people just like ourselves too. True Love is unconditional, not based on skin color, or the language you speak, or pen one’s handwriting in. Because this is our conviction of Liberty, which relies outside of laws of ink alone, and that does not come from the hand of man or the hand of woman either; neither is love confined to the believed borders of nationalism, the constructs of race, or the limitations of religion outside of love relationship with all God’s children. True Liberty as walked in love, neither comes from the constrictions of current world leaders blindsided political models of leadership, that become mere afterthoughts of hindsight in the canons of history as reflective, sobering lessons learned from ‘history’s past mistakes.’ Love is more active than that in the present. We live in times, where recent political mistakes have cost too many lives–and we can no longer be passive global citizens with consciences that we claim are alive, but we need to act too in Love for those, our own nations may deem ‘enemies.’ So, as people who choose to live in the light of Love’s truth which is timeless and not bound by either current events or history, we have a lot of work to do ahead of us, right now in supporting our leaders, not to miss what Love is. May unconditional love define action as we all grow up and see beyond borders of hatred, into the hearts of people just like you and me. May we let Love be Love, and yield to it with all inclusive humility. Let’s wurck~
PEACE MUSICALITY IS PINK AND SEAL FOR HERBIE HANCOCK WITH THE IMAGINE PROJECT – COURAGE TO LOVE :)
Beautiful are the words “We are all the same people” in an “orchestra of life.”–Herbie Hancock.
If we believe in peace; our breath, rhythm, heart, soul languages, bodies, dreams will unite like a river to give voice to it. Hot musicality is Mr Herbie Hancock recording his new album, The Imagine Project around the world. Herbie’s vision transcends differences in the earth’s languages, religions and tongues spoken, to join hearts and minds in a common purpose, that will outlive us all. Smart. The rest, is the small stuff–and let’s not sweat that.
Here’s the project’s electronic press kit for meaningful entertainment today. And, my favorite book, at the minute speaks of the same themes: Courage To Love by author Robert Ellis, also available as a Peace audio book.
With Herbie’s new album–what a fine coordination effort around the world for a great cause.
Vocal courage is popstar Pink and crooner Seal at the 4.30 mark of EPK – Part II, in this video clip. Wow! Harmony for Africa. Love it.
This album has Grammy Winner written all over it.

TREE OF LIFE IN A STATE OF GRACE
These words from Alegra22 blog, have resonance this eve, while sitting at the feet of our beloved. She’s been having dreams lately:
“Two nights ago I had a lucid dream. A flood was coming. Standing on a hillside I could see the wall of water moving towards me, covering the earth. It was beautiful and terrifying and there was no escape. In the next minute I was running down a narrow city street, preparing for the impact, for death. As I ran, I looked up at the stone walls of an ancient city and then suddenly I found myself lifted above them, held by the limbs of a tree. The water rushed past me and I understood how perfectly, exquisitely alive I was. And so was the tree. It pulsed and hummed with an energy that radiated like light. It was protecting me.
I woke up and without thinking about the words, I wrote in my journal:
The Flood and the Tree of Life.
The dream has multiple meanings for me. It spoke to the themes in my novel and thesis, confirming that I am on the right path. But more importantly, it reminded me that the garden of my own childhood Eden, that state of grace, is still alive and well inside of me. (more…)
POETRY TREE by WAYFARERS CHAPEL and EMILE KANIM from PLENTITUDE, THE BOOK for EARTH LIFE
Image: Romance tree, by Wayfarers Chapel
Poem: The Beginning of the Ends by Emile Kanim
For in the beginning
we anticipated an end.
This endless end
compelled us into
this brighter beginning.
–Stunning poetry. Circuitous. Complete. Like the circle of love for life.
On the road from Serra Malibu, we stopped at the Road Inn for hash browns and pancakes with maple syrup, washed down with coffee. Then it was on to Palos Verdes, to the Wayfarers Chapel, to see the fruit of the romance tree in lively bloom of plentitude.
Trip Advisor says of Wayfarers Chapel: “Inspiring Beauty: This architectural jewel, all glass & wood, sits overlooking the rugged coastline of Palos Verdes, and is used for religious services and weddings, but is open for tourists. The gardens, fountains, reflecting pools, endless fragrant rose bushes make for a peaceful, thought-provoking meditative walk. Surrounded by trees, the views from the hillside change with the weather…. fog-shrouded like a Japanese painting, or radiant with color on a clear day. I think attending a church service would be profoundly beautiful, with the sun coming through the all-glass Chapel. Wayfarer’s Chapel is a must-see for those of any and all faiths.” Lloyd Wright is the architect of this talked about center piece of Californian life.

UN SOSPIRO IN THE SECRET GARDEN
“You are the like the dew of Haramon, glistening on”–
Creative Poetic Prose: While you were sleeping, I took the liberty of delicately tracing your spirit. Beyond your furrowed brow, lay a secret garden watered by a reservoir of love. There were all kinds of people in it, that your life has crossed paths with and touched over the years. They are your flowers you’ve grown with your prayers, when no one was watching. The depth of the garden’s flowers is both eclectic and rare. Just like you are.

TRENDING BOSNIA HUMOR: ANGELINA JOLIE REALLY NEEDS TO SHARE HER JOKES WITH THE OTHER WOMAN
~Being a loving and conscious global citizen is about sharing a smile with who really matters~
Angelina Jolie finds joy in bringing joy to the displaced people of the world. Here she is sharing a joke with the grey power set of Bosnia. What an image of the human spirit being shared… priceless!
I was going to be like most Hollywood ‘magazines’ and crop this image into a nice two shot–but I decided to keep the pic as a three shot, so I could run this blog headline with the pic.
As Angelina is Hollywood’s trendsetting queen–who all other stars either mimic aspects of her star template she has created from her life, admire her and follow her lead, or envy or attack with jealousy–it has to be noted today that Ms Jolie has set these trends:
Laughter is a good trend. American couples doing good in the world regularly is another. Travel is good. Travel to where it most matters and spending time with people who most matter and who reflect our global humanness… is a trend. Help others is a hot trend. Give voice to the forgotten and voiceless is another trend. Hollywood must do something for the world is a big trend. Leadership looks like going outside your own comfort zone in order to lead is another trend. And Bosnia and her struggle is hot right now. And of course, like a wise star–Jolie fights ageism in Hollywood with this image in this post.
Love her. Grey power are needed and important in the world, regardless of their bank account size, their age, or where they come from. Thanks Angelina for the ray of light and the message today.

RECOVERY IS THE ART OF AMERICAN REDEMPTION
~The way of the wise is to make whoopi Peace~
~Today’s hero is anyone who is actively recovering from a lite affliction or oppression and who has the audacity/ courage to be transparent and honest about it. Hot.~
For Eminem and Nelson Mandela from ‘Mother Theresa’s bedside 2010: Recovery is to make peace with your demons, by calling them what they are without fear of judgement–in order to rebuild lives and better systems that serve more noble purposes for all people into the world–Horiwood, June 2010.
A fairy tale of Peace from World Politics and Hip Hop Music’s King: Once upon a time, one man was locked in a jail because he possessed courage of spirit and his conscience led him to fight death systems that had been created in his own country. Namely, apartheid.
Although this man was deemed an insubordinate criminal with criminal intentions by the finest judges in the land, (he perhaps just couldn’t pretend to be sub enough), he had diamonds on the soles of his shoes as a noble freedom fighter against oppression of his people’s better futures.
When the bullying sickness of greed in his country, had passed–blindness fell off the eyes of his countrymen.
They realized that their nation’s recovery and healing from this glaringly obvious sickness, was to release this man from jail–because in his soul that had endured suffering within an unfair justice system, were all the keys to free his country from a psychological hell guised as an artificial oasis–they had once created to gain an advantage for select few people–while marginalizing a majority.
This man is a man of Peace. His life story mirrors that of Joseph whose life was once cast in ancient Egypt. His name is Nelson Mandela. His life is a witness, that recovery rhetoric–is always a Peace rhetoric and that making Peace is the art of recovery for the world.
Music by Africa Black Mambatu and the dazzling poetic words of Paul Simon today. Commentary on the art of recovery follows:
