REFORMED HEROIN ADDICT HELEN BAYLOR, SINGS ALL OF ME, FOR CHRISTMAS 2010

“Mould me in your hands, into a vessel you can use”–song lyrics, the incomparable Helen Baylor

At this minute in Hollywood, a certain malpracticing ‘doctor’ has been accusing a certain A-Listed actress of being a non-reformed and current heroin addict, for his own try hard publicity. This woman has children. And he’s doing this at Christmas time. What a raping grinch!

This is what a real reformed heroin addict does look like. Drug addiction is a disease like any other that is nothing to be proud of or ashamed of either. It’s just something that some good people are or have been afflicted by. Many people in Hollywood, New York and Australia are afflicted by heroine addiction.

This real reformed heroine addict (above) is so beautiful on the inside. Her name is Helen Baylor and for our West Hollywood Christmas Special, Helen sings All of Me live, because in her life, she credits overcoming heroin dependancy on her faith in God. In this song she offers up her life as a broken gift, full of the good, the bad and the plain ugly facts of her life. So powerful! Ms. Baylor makes me bawl my face off when she sings. If you hear her life story, you’ll bawl your face off too. Yet Helen ‘aint ever graced a cover of a tabloid or a visible-to-all magazine. Why is that I wonder? She’s a total winner.

I love her. Stars don’t get more real than Helen Baylor this Christmas. Her story belongs in a future Hollywood film. Helen Baylor’s life is the freaking Christmas story. No one can deny Helen her Christmas story. If you tried, she’d sing you out of the ball park. Go lady! Sing the Christmas blues. Merry Christmas people, especially ya’ll in West Hollywood. This year we are celebrating grinch-freeness in our lives at Christmas.

We are celebrating living lives beyond lies and falsity too. 2011′s hot American goal. It’s actually a miracle many of us are even having a Christmas this year and that we are choosing to. Truly, it is. We overcame a lot this year in two years of the most hideous economy ever, where we still watched the greedy get greedier and act like spoiled children, more uglier to me than heroine addicts are, wanting more so blatantly. That stuff was sick! Average people perhaps like ourselves all got a bit thinner and came out on top this year, still smiling. Wow! How cool are all you people? You’re the best!  Let’s keep at it then. Grinch-kicking has become my new sport. Join me in it, in making the world a sweeter place in 2011. Meanness, stingyness (the flipside of greed), let’s kick it to the curb when we see it, to win. Up!

Click on Helen’s picture above to see a winner shine drug free. Her gratitude is medicine. Can’t get enough of her spirit to celebrate living life to the fullest with healthy respect for the gift of life. Wow!

THE HORIWOOD TOP TEN – MON 12.20.10

Husband. What husband, says the UK when selecting their most favorite wedding pic of Nicole Richie‘s big wedding day with Benji Madden. UK media prefer a picture of American interracial and intergenerational family-star power with Nicole and her dad Lionel Richie for this magazine cover and an image of modern family.

A very sweet picture of Michael Jackson‘s god-daughter and her dad. What a beautiful bride, Richie was. Weddings, marriage romance, commitment in love from two people to each other rising above (through and past) current economic times and anything that politicians may (or may not) say– is the new trend of the 2010′s. Long live true love.

AMERICA IS BECOMING MORE BILINGUAL – CENSUS RESULTS 2010

To fully appreciate America in the 2020′s global citizens of the world could benefit from speaking Spanish to fully engage in American cultural life and its development forward.

Robert Groves of Census.Gov and team share information that proves that America is becoming more bilingual this year. Electorate seats will also be rezoned. Some lost.

“For the first time, we are providing a series of demographic analysis estimates to more clearly demonstrate the uncertainty in these figures,” said Census director Groves.

The numbers show the nation’s population ranged from 305.7 million to 307.4 million based on lower rates of immigration, which independent think-tanks such as the Pew Hispanic Center have said dropped off sharply recently due to the souring U.S. economy.

Sharing from The Washington Post, Census Gov says, ‘Hispanics accounted for all the growth in the youth population in the last decade. In 2000, Hispanics made up 17 percent of the U.S. population under age 20. They now represent somewhere between 22 and 25 percent of that age group.

African American News: ‘There were roughly 40.9 million to 41.7 million blacks in the U.S., based on a tabulation that includes Hispanic blacks. That would put the share of blacks at roughly 13 percent of the U.S. population.’

Hispanics Are Keeping America Young: ‘Without Hispanics, the number of young people in the U.S. would have declined between 2000 and 2010. Based on the estimates, the non-Hispanic youth population declined somewhere between 1.25 million and 2.9 million.’

Driving Force: ‘Hispanics are the driving force behind this youth diversity,” said Kenneth Johnson, a sociology professor at the University of New Hampshire, who reviewed the numbers.

THE ALI TIN TOTE IS KINDA HOT FOR LUNCH AT THE WORLD BOX OFFICE TODAY

Guess what? I noticed that we can buy the Ali tin tote to take to your office for lunch every day, while wearing a suit a tie.

It’s kind of rocking good hot–in a who you lunch with, knock out, corporate way. Like, if you have a lunch box tote like this–you’d better be lunching with the right people and not a bunch of pretentious time wasters. It’s what this tote symbolizes to me anyway.

Go here to Ali’s official website to buy it for your office team and their lunches in creating a team of champions at your unique box office. It’s purchasable for only $15. What a score! Go here. American history at its finest.

Ali was an original American Lord of the Ring! A civil rights champion for the world not just America. As a Maori-Kiwi I totally dig it. The tote holds meaning to me.

RIHANNA STUDIES, THE ART OF CELEBRITY AS SOCIOLOGY AND A GQ BRITANNIA MAGAZINE COVER, DECEMBER 2010

I saw that The University of Carolina is offering a Major in Lady Gaga and the Sociology of Fame. Pop music as a vehicle of leadership in nationhood’s direction is what kids want to study. Really a University should be offering science and advanced mathematics or physics papers in the US in an effort to close the gap on Education being an equipping tool towards being viable competitors in the future direction of a global economy.

If sociology is a lure to get kids into college to see what it’s all about, all good–perhaps they should be offering a 2 hour lecture in Rihanna Studies instead though. Kids would learn just as much, although Rihanna is not technically an American citizen. Although shaping American culture so much as an artist, rather humorously, her visa status is still that of an alien. She is the USA’s Alien Queen of the 2010′s.

In 2008, Rihanna was ranked in the top four on google New Zealand trends for the year. Her live performances in Auckland The Supercity were well appreciated from fans. A then relatively unknown American leader (to the-wider-world), Barack Obama, also made the top ten in this innovative and perceptive trend-spotting small nation. At this time, New Zealand’s current Prime Minister, was not yet ranked in the top ten (Sir Edmund Hillary was instead, at no. 7) yet Rihanna and Mr Obama were on New Zealand’s cultural radar of people they like.

As a comparison, Australia ranked Paris Hilton and Anna Nicole Smith in their top ten and Mr Obama was not yet on the radar in Australia’s mindsets at all that same year in a significant way. Rihanna however (was ranked no.9 in Australia that year as a trend) denoting that she is a key figure and entertainer to the South Pacific and Asia Pacific territories. She was the only person of color in Australia’s top ten that year to ‘cross-over’ as an accepted trend, whereas New Zealand had 3 people of color trend that same year. It is fair to say, that as a star, leader and a cultural-architect artist of a modern world–that Rihanna is always a forerunner of the world’s elite leaders. This is her destiny as a person. Let’s look at what she’s gifted the American people, so far.

What would GQ be, without its Rihanna magazine covers in the US or Britannia? You need at least one Rihanna moment as your cover girl each year to be a successful men’s magazine. This girl is both pretty, tough and resilient in making a comeback when beaten down. She can also make a fashion accessory super hot–that all stars emulate and fashion designers incorporate into their styles of design. She’s the edge of trendsetting when she feels like playing the diva role.

She also gave America a powerful image of someone who recovered from post traumatic stress disorder of something unexpected that can hit a life in America, requiring a major rebuilding effort. Her Chris Brown domestic violence saga of the past catapulted Rihanna into superstar status. Resilience was added to her star exotic brand in that tragic moment of callous American mistreatment by young Chris towards a foreigner living and working in Los Angeles. That media moment was bloody awful. Thankfully Chris Brown has moved on from the incident too now, maturing from it also.

There has never been anyone who lived in Hollywood Hills, quite like Rihanna who has contributed to American culture in difficult years, offering hope or distraction or attitude or just good fun. She’s quite unique. Via Barbados and the Commonwealth, along with Beyonce she is the All American Girl inspirer of the last decade. Next year, I wonder if actor/ singer/ fashion sequer and stylist, Kat Graham, a newbie who is currently sporting top hats of British gentry of the UK, will get to land on GQ too?

In the meantime, here’s the hardworking Riri, amusing Britain with those looks. In the last 11 months, she’s just not stopped working. Respec. In fact Rihanna’s music accomplishments are second to none in America–she’s pop royalty and the Commonwealth’s black queen of pop. In 2008 when Rihanna performed live for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, she wore earrings reflecting the shape of the late Princess Diana‘s engagement ring, the same ring now being worn by Kate Middleton. With her symbology that constitutes pop star monarchy’s iconography, that millions of people worldwide follow–as symbols of empire that they think define them, Rihanna is always smart. Equally subtle as confrontation, a rare mix. Rihanna is a little naughty, she’s the only music artist to give the Queen a diva snear at the end of her performance, before she curtsied–an expression the Queen would never allow herself to do in public, even if she wanted to. The moment from Rihanna is cute.

Hitfix reports that Riri (who this blog is sorta named after too), is the no.1 charting artist of the millennium. The music website writes: “Only Girl In the World jumps to No. 1 this week, giving Rihanna her second single from Loud to hit the top spot. Two weeks ago, What’s My Name featuring Drake was at No. 1. Loud debuts at No. 3 this week on the Billboard 200.

Riri makes history. It is the first time (more…)

HOW A NATIONAL ANTHEM SHOULD BE SUNG by PATTI LABELLE, NONA & MARVIN GAYE

I was thinking how in New Zealand, we hardly devote any time, energy, spend to the production of our “national anthem” being sung. In America, the singing of the anthem — is a production. Watch this clip.

What: A walk down memory lane–how a national anthem should and can be sung.

Who: Patti Labelle sings the American Nation Anthem (with power and gusto) for Venus Williams at US Open final at the request of President Bill Clinton. Watch that HERE. Amazin,

Above version Nona Gaye sings a (mellow and chill version duet) of the Star Spangled Banner (the SSB) with her late dad, Marvin Gaye. Both cute versions.

As a Kiwi – living in the US – it’s weird how New Zealand and America’s national anthems – both have the words “ramparts” in them. In New Zealand – we are “freedom’s ramparts.” Check out Patti Labelle giving a clue, what the sound of freedom is. Her version deserve THREE stars from Hollywood, I reckon. Talk about blowing racism out of the American air! Patti Labelle is something else. An amazing performance and picture of an American-ness vibe in the clip, I want to be a part of as a Kiwi American-Maori.

Wow!

NEW TALENT ALERT – MEET HINETAAPORA SHORT – THE GOLDEN, HOLLYWOOD MAORI, MILKY BAR KID!

“She has a young Reese Witherspoon look and fresh-faced appeal about her as a potential child-actor of the future in Hollywood”–Horiwood on Hinetaapora Short.

A Diverse View of Hollywood worthy new talent potential:

Should Hinetaaporo Short, 10, be cast as the next Milky Bar Kid!

One of this kid’s X-factors in the entertainment game already, is that Hinetaapora speaks Te Reo Rangatira – The Language of Chiefs - otherwise known as the Maori language of New Zealand) each day, at her Kura Kaupapa school in Roto-Vegas/ Rotorua, Hiobbit country.

Te Reo Rangatira is one of the two official languages that Middle Earth, New Zealand protects and speaks within its shores.

Should Hinetaapora be the Milky Bar Kid for chocolate makers Nestle? Heck yes! What a bilingual, intelligent and talented cutie pai. Adorable. The Milky Bar Kid is a New Zealand child’s ‘super hero’ figure of inspiring Adventure and fun adventuring activities with friends and community–the great Kiwi Way. Just like Hobbits represent such cultural heroes too. A Maori girl super hero? Heck yes! It’s time. What a splendid idea at updating Kiwi pop culture in the 2010′s.

Will Hinetaapora go on to appear in Hobbit in 3D films in Wellywood too and Hollywood? I hope so! She’s a doll.

Go honey! Mauri ‘Ola from Hollywood. Let’s hope Hinetaapora can sign on to the same Hollywood agent as Oscar nominee, Keisha Castle Hughes. My Hollywood agent recommend though for Hinetaapora’s Hollywood acting hopes, is agent: Steve Dontanville. –the agent behind Reese Witherspoon’s acting career in Reese’s initial early years until two years before Reese won her Oscar.

Imagine Hinetaapora Short in a 3D action adventure film? Could she be another Reese Witherspoon, with the potential to win an Oscar too? Only time will tell. But, go kotiro tutu! I love her chutzpah. This kid has spirit.  She’s off to a good start at ten years-of-age.

[Presenter Scotty Morrison, executive news producer Tini Molyneux - Te Karere. Keisha Castle Hughes appears here with Inception star Ken Watanabe, image courtesy of Wire Image].

UPDATE: Hinetaapora Short is on the Nestle casting team’s Top Ten Short List at this minute. Go honey! You have Hollywood’s big tick approval. The gorgeous Hinetaapora short is a descendant of the Te Whanau a Hinetaaporo subtribe (Haapu) of Ngati Porou. She also descends from the Te Arawa iwi of Aotearoa/ New Zealand. The same tribe as famed and globally-loved entertainer, the late Sir Howard Morrison. The son of a Maori All Black rugby football star, Temuera Morrison , Sir Howard’s song My Old Man’s An All Black - combated and addressed apartheid in South Africa back in the day. He’s still a legend in hearts and minds today. Good Kiwi Ambassadors and proven entertainment stock are the performance artists of this tribe. They do the right things with their fame for noble humanitarian causes.

Hinetaapora’s Te Arawa tribe are watched by globe-trotting visitors to New Zealand, every day of the week in Rotorua City when they perform live daily as consummate and gifted entertainers. They star in musical theater showcases daily and have been practicing mau rakau (traditional Maori martial arts) for over a thousand years in New Zealand on Mokoia Island. As warriors in performance, they are New Zealand’s indigenous action stars. Very similar to Japanese samurai or Old-World warriors of the Chinese Empire dynasty too. Sir Howard, their much loved late Entertainer king, is pictured wearing his cowboy hat above.

Courage to imagine, see and be true to… yourself.

Message to H.S: Mihi atu ki a koe Hinetaapora… are you practicing your American accent and learning Chinese each morning for Hong Kong filmmaking, 3D action movie/ co-productions in future years, before school? Hope so! Ka rawe! Tino pai kē! Kid, you’re too much! :)

HIP HOP ART HOUSE CINEMA by KANYE WEST, AUTEUR and SELITA EBANKS with RUNAWAY

Artists of the world, will always respond to an auteur. The Arts are always created when we cross cultures, to the center and push back in creative response. In this moment, we are the center of the world’s pop culture creation too as artists. We are creating the future by speaking back in response to the present in expression with our unique worldviews and artistic reo (voices) and vision too. Let’s go Maori and Polynesian filmmakers, musicians, artists and entertainersHoriwood

Who: Kanye West

What: Hip Hop Art House Cinema as a new genre of filmmaking.

Title Work: Runaway, a short film

Duration: 34 mins, 32 secs aprox.

Starring: Selita EBanks and Kanye West

Key Themes: A commentary on America’s nationhood, in Kanye’s lifetime. The rise and fall and what is the rise back up again of the USA. Decadence fused with decay of empire.

The Michael Jackson death of the King of Pop reference, is both respectful and a little spooky in the form of a military like national guard parade, and a blown up head of MJ. The golden phoenix references are powerful. Selita Ebanks is pure art in this role. Naive, beautiful, out of place, learning of a new world–a metaphor of a nation rebuilding, and representing a younger generation in it–as also reflected in a gaggle of strong, youthful ballet-swans, depicted as youthful potential turned statues with their economic? wings ripped off by resulting circumstances of unwise political/ banking leaders of the past. Selita plays the role, of someone being introduced to America now as shown by Kanye, an auteur. She asks: how is it possible to be authentic and survive in your world, when most are cast in stone of economics/ current politics?

Perhaps indicating, patriarchal culture, Kanye’s response is: just stay with me anyway and make love to me. An interesting political commentary, when no one really has an answer to this question Selita posits.

Anyway, it’s a little weird for me, but I love the fact that Kanye has created the Hip Hop Musical, Art House short film genre of cinema. Not enough can be written about that. It’s revolutionary in African-American cinema that he’s done this. Creative plus!!!

Enjoy. And in honor of Taika Cohen‘s artistic filmmaking abilities – who could do the same, for Maori down under, I post this Korowai cloak, as a challenge (or take in Maori) to pick up in future years and do the same as an artist. Maori Art House Cinema, let’s go, thinking outside of commercial, Hollywood narrative structures too – into more artistic expression of Maori cinematic arts. Artists should always respond across cultures to other artists. It’s cultural manners and is also what true artists are about if we hail from centuries-old traditions of artists – which we do as Maori. Any culture with authentic artist will respond from their nation as global artists.

As Maori we are not passive. American culture is boring if it’s monologue. What we need is dialogue for US culture to even be relevant in our Maori mix at all. We don’t just consume from America, we speak back like mature adults, and put our own spin on our own future – as teachers (not children) of America too. So, where’s our film texts (musicals on cinema, please).

Who in New Zealand wants to respond to this, in cinema? I ask. Taika is a good start, with Awanui Reader writing the film’s score and starring in the lead. Ainsley Gardiner, an award winning film producer and Oscar nominated producer, as producer of such a project, showing the strength of good female leadership from New Zealand – would be hot.

But let’s get back to Kanye West’s brilliance and budget spend here. His interweaving on a sound sonic-scape with international accents (German and European) as well as importing the class of Rihanna ‘s hip hop and r n’b proven sound globally via Barbados of the Commonwealth (UK tributes and associations) show’s an American artist seeking cross-cultural ties and connections with a place for Americans in the world. Amidst the American ego–that his nation expects in their pop culture to fuel their own sense of identity, Kanye shows humility too for other nations cultures he’s learned and gleaned from as one of the 30% of Americans who have traveled outside of US borders and dared to be an American minority in another nation’s cultural life–and position himself as a student of the world. I like it that he has and it reflects in this film, from what he’s borrowed and interwoven into his art.

In particular, Kanye uses the elements a lot, of the sky. Perhaps indicating a future where, manipulating the earth’s elements (whether in visual depiction via news footage) or for real, will be common. An oil spill, was the last example of this we witnessed by a multi-national corporation in Mexico’s gulf for example. Oil from depth in the earth’s crust became vapor that filled the sky like a column of smoke. The world had never seen that before, as elements burned from the sea.

Kanye’s film is a version of a vision of America today. Powerful as art and social commentary. He raises the bar of hip hop artists and most music artists too, with this contribution. It’s his version, of “I am King” of pop culture and the arts eg: Muhammad Ali via cinema. Or, his version of “Presidential vision” or “if I was President” in that The Thompson Twins 80′s kinda statement way. Smile America. It does get better, is what West says here. :)

WILLOW SMITH, WHIP MY HAIR! OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO

She’s an artist okay, this is her message. A hip hop artist to boot.

Willow Smith says Color Me Bad and Color Your World. And definitely Color Your Classroom! Color Your Thinking! Um, not that young Willow is ever in school, I’ve noticed. At 9 years-of-age, she’s on Presidential duties. But, that aside–

Have you encountered any archaic thinking? If you have, this kid says: Just Whip it! Make an expression on your face like “step, else I’ll cut you, with the diversity of the world’s color.” Bust on through anyway.

This second generation Hollywood kid, is poppin it, just like her pop, A-Lister and box office heavyweight, Will Smith. Love her! She is the muse of Malia & Sasha Obama - as American celebrity honors a King and his family – with her creation and expression as an artist in the world, within America’s star system of entertainers. I would like to see Willow throwing around a rugby ball though in her depicted classroom of buddies and budettes, just to make this kid a tad bit more internationally appealing.

There’s always room to improve a hip music video. However – So hot! And on that note. Heck yeah! :)

More Willow Smith and her folks news, can be read after the jump: (more…)

SAMUEL G. FREEDMAN ON THE NEW ORLEANS BLACK CHURCHES, LONG SLOW BOUNCE BACK

Samuel G Freedman, has a great article in the NY Times today about black churches slow recovery after Hurricane Katrina’s devastation.

Basically, there used to be 75 churches in New Orleans, only 12 have been able to reopen in the last five years. Rev. Charles Duplessis story touched my heart today. His congregation meets in his home each Sunday. How inconvenient for his wife and children and their family life.

So, sending out some light and love for them today, on this Hollywood blog. Why not?! :)

If you’re interested in reading up on their progress, in the interest of gospel’s deep roots here in America, then go here to read at Herald Tribune. If you’re spiritually inclined, and are in a position to make a change for Rev Duplessis–than you know what to do. :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE HUMBLE CAN, 200th BIRTHDAY TODAY

It’s hard to believe that the humble can, has turned 200 today. But  it has. WRCH Radio reports that on August 25, 1810, an English entrepreneurial gentleman Peter Durand was granted a patent for an idea he registered to preserve food in a humble tinplate vessel.

In 1812, the can manufacturing industry began. Like all innovative ideas, America had to have them, so that same year, Thomas Kensett, an English immigrant to America, brought the idea with him, that same year.

Today, there are over 600 diverse sizes and styles of cans being manufactured, offering 1,500 different food items in America all year round. Variety is a consumer’s spice of life, thanks to the humble can. But cans are also a booming industry once they’ve served their initial purpose of storing and preserving produce.

Since recycling began in America, consumers have earned more than $10 billion by returning their aluminum cans. One of America’s #1 financial advisors, Warren Buffet currently has his fortune invested in rail, humanitarian causes and garbage recycling. Buffet saw that there was money in garbage and thinking green.

The can is an art worthy subject of many famous artists. As The L magazine points out: “None of us can afford an authentic can of Andy Warhol‘s famous Campbell’s Tomato Soup, but what about Fuse designer Willem Heeffer‘s Campbell’s Soup Can Lights (top pic). These cost 90 euros ($113.50) for these artistic light fixtures. TreeHugger recommends trying to make your own and recycle.

Finally, Solange Knowles, popstar, brought the humble can to attention, when she made her music video for her song Sancastle Disco referencing pop music and pop artists, when she was filmed dancing on the top of Campbells soup cans. (Seen at the 1.30 mark of her video art). Here’s that song, in celebration of the can’s 200th birthday today.

WYNTER GORDON IS A RISING MUSIC STAR

~Miracles: We were moving mountains long before we knew we could–Recovery 2010′s~

Wynter Gordon has a #1 dance hit with David Guetta, called Dirty Talk, of which we will not be running on this blog. Gordon is a sweetie, gospel raised, and she has the velvet vocal honey as she cuts her chops in entertainment singing sexy lyrics for music producers on her way to the top.

In a bid to spice up the game of Beyonce dominated soul, artists like Madonna, Mary J. Blige and David Guetta all think Wynter is winner. I agree. Here’s her version of Poker Face.

And Winter has a brand new song out, called Believe as she sings it up for Freemasons.

Because Wynter Gordon can perform without lip syncing (she’s humble and the real deal), here’s her afro-ed gorgeous self, singing Leonard Cohen‘s Halllelujah song, about King David’s human frailties when a battle of lust and love renders the heavens and the heart too. What a hot babe.

All Gordon needs is a backing track, a computer and this girl can give an A-List worthy concert in her bedroom.

What a star. Go girl! And to prove my point, here’s Wynter singing Whitney Houston‘s Joseph song from the Prince of Egypt soundtrack (When You Believe) in her bedroom. She amazin! Enjoy.

RUTINA WESLEY MEETS HOLLYWOOD’S NEW WEREWOLF IN TOWN

Hollywood’s new werewolf in town is Joe Manganiello for True Blood. Hollywood can be a tad bit feral. Trust True Blood to turn out a wolf show and capitalize on summit entertainment’s fanbase.

That Allen Ball is a writer to watch if you’re a hot vampire film studio, like Summit Entertainment is. Ball keeps their fanbase in his palm until the next Twilight Saga film hits. Well, parents of Twilight fan kids anyways. A bit of a freak, Allen is a good weaver of trending topics the people want to see on google, when they’re working in their day jobs.

Never underestimate a man who looks closely at google trends, long before they become mainstream symbols.

And I’ve got to say, from day 1, Rutina Wesley became one of my favorite TV actresses the minute she appeared on screen as that OOC stroppy waitress with a few family issues on her shoulders, kindred sista of Anna Paquin‘s Sookie.

This girl’s off the chain. Love her. To prove my point, Rutina’s popularity is up 40% on IMDB this week, while Joe’s is barely up 10% this week. Perhaps a message to keep your clothes on as an actor, as much as you can.

OPRAH HIRES ELI BROAD’S MONEY MANAGER, PETER ADAMSON

I’m sorry Chicago, but Ms Oprah Winfrey really is moving to California. She wasn’t bluffing.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Oprah has just hired Peter Adamson to manage her ‘family office’ and watch her money and investments portfolio. In California, Peter Adamson manages Eli and Edith Broad‘s money so that the Broad’s can continue doing artistic and philanthropic things for arts and culture in LA–in and around Hollywood’s movie culture.

It looks like Ms Winfrey is going to get a little bit more creative, in her role as a power producer of Hollywood films and TV Network producing in her next, Californian reincarnation. She’s freeing up her time, so its less money focused. Love it. And the philanthropic money management skills of Peter Adamson on board–prove that Oprah is heading in the same direction as the Broads. Think Oprah in the past–but on a much bigger philanthropic scale.

To check out what’s happening on the Broad Stage concerning music, jazz, live performance and the arts, here in LA… go here. It’s time that LA got a bit more artistically philanthropic. So this is exciting news. The past two years, a spirit of meanness, fear and stingyness has gripped this city. Good works incite more good works. So, hopefully Winfrey and the Broad’s will get a really good ping pong match going on between them–concerning artists support in the 2010′s.

Needless to say, anything that Oprah’s attached to when she hits Califor-NI-A–invest in those stocks. Here’s some retro Tupac–to celebrate in advance, the Oprah Effect on Hollywood. :)

AVATAR: MAORI CONTINUE TO INSPIRE IN 3D AT #1 AT THE BOX OFFICE WORLDWIDE. YAY!!!

It’s a case of “follow the leader” as the reigning box office king of Tinsel Town who created Avatar speaks… these days. Being Maori and living in Hollywood, I’m loving it! :)

Say’s film auteur, James Cameron, of the amazing Maori language of New Zealand and Polynesia in this latest interview:

Paul Frommer is a linguistics expert at USC, and we hired him to create a language,” James Cameron says. ”He riffed off the 30 or so character names, place names, and creature names that I had come up with. They had a little bit of a Polynesian/Maori influence because of some time I had spent in New Zealand and in other places throughout Polynesia. So he used some Polynesian roots — but there’s also some African, there’s Native American, there’s even some bits from the Latin languages — and then he mixed it all up with German sentence construction, where the verb comes last. From an acting standpoint, the hard part was speaking English with a Na’vi accent. Zoë Saldana had the most lines, so we let her create the accent, and then everybody had to match her.”

For all you Avatar fans who want to know how the real Maori lads of Polynseia and the Pacific Islands roll. When we party, we kind of party like this in our hood… always about others, the collective and community… never solo.

Here’s some vintage Nesian Mystik old school, boy band sounds for your entertainment from Hollywood today. Chaa! Let’s pop it. Maoris and Poly boys are in the hot mix of the Hollywood house today. You know it! These lads a big hit in Hawaii, USA. Like James Cameron, Island dwelling people love Maoris and Polynesians. Enjoy. ;)

BEAT BOXING LADY GAGA’S BAD ROMANCE

Lady Gaga‘s Bad Romance song receives the beat boxing treatment by these two honies. This tribute is just awesome! Love it.

Bad Romance hits a vibe with American kids and young people all over the world, caught up in an economic global recession. It defines their mood, of when will the hard times end? Lady Gaga sings of this frustration for everyone.

Love. Love. Love the vibe being sung so cutely by these two girls. Thanks ladies for getting creative, sharing your talents and putting a video up on youtube. Fantastic stuff. Enjoy!
