An interesting look from Drew Barrymore in Boston, while promoting her new movie, Whip It. Very indie punk.
As uninteresting as all of these trivial topics are, to create scandalacious headlines in Hollywood, somehow makes InTouch magazine, seem so Out of Touch this week!
It’s all about a revolution and getting people to rise up, Tracey Chapman styles. There are deeper issues in society going on right now, than Tom Cruise’s perfect fringe, Kate Gosselin’s crocodile tears or Brad Pitt’s boozing ways to encourage the peeps to go and see his new film Inglourious Basterds.
How about reflecting on the plight of people in Rawanda & Dafur, or the homeless and the unemployed of America for example?
But seriously, having a nice chilled beer, is a sensible thing to do in these times. Smiles all round to the people. Go Brad…. Rawanda & Dafur forever!
And, what a dumb ass magazine cover!
Momma Britney Spears, gave her sons a buzz cut recently. The mother of two is looking good, finally realizing that family will always be more important than fame.
She’s got her buzz on and its motherhood these days. Nice work Ms Spears.
10. DALE K GOES RED!
To see Dale K’s hair color transformation, contrast the above pic of Dale from two weeks ago, to her pic at #10. Ferosh!
This from Justin Gatson’s twitter account:
This brotha from North Hollyweird is too funny today. Made me lmao!
My girlfriend Dale, from Wellington New Zealand became a ravishing redhead this week.
She’s pictured here with Sir Wira Gardener, whose a bit of a guru on mapping trends on Maori leadership in our recent times.
One of my favorite, Maori leaders was Sir Apirana Ngata, who bonded one tribe to another to help out in recession like times. A Maori tribe would all move to another tribe’s rohe (tribal area) and develop the hosting tribe’s business potential, then when the host tribe’s biz and industry development was completed, that tribe would then reciprocate the favor in the guest tribe’s home territory.
With a concentrated effort in one particular area of biz development (with double the manpower and womanpower) things got done twice as fast. Together Everyone Achieves More. That’s the true success of Maori leadership in effect.
I hope Sir Wira Gardiner writes a book about Sir Apirana Ngata’s greatness as a leader and includes such inspiring stories in it as well as the modern leadership styles of Maori leadership too.
It would be weird though trying to give an honest perspective from your own opinion on…. well… your own peers. Um, good luck with that Sir Wira!!! But yes, this book needs to happen. Young Maori (hori) upstarts like me, need to be inspired by such a book written by Sir Wira Gardiner. We look to you to write it.
I hope Dale K is in that book. Dale is one of THE BEST Maori leaders I know of. She’s strategic, forward thinking, practical and in touch with where the future is heading. I like her leadership brain. It’s a cultural treasure of New Zealand. She’s also a real gem of a friend too. Lucky, lucky me.
The pic below is the view Dale has each morning from her kitchen window while having her morning coffee. Isn’t Dale so lucky! Wellington (Poneke) New Zealand is so pretty.
Love the hair color sweet Dale. You be rockin! Very cool!
Dale’s fab hair color was courtesy of Jean Jacques (of Jean Jacques Hair Design, Lambton Quay, Wellington NZ). Says Dale: “any girl knows that a hairdresser is her best friend and JJ and I have been together for about 15 years – so he knows me well! Funny thing is I always preferred red hair when I was younger and coloured my hair ‘auburn’ throughout my last year of high school.”
What a hot color! Suits Dale’s effervescent spirit and personality to a tee. Love this woman! She’s the future leadership of New Zealand.
Shakira rocks the cover of Latina Magazine. She is the Sonia Sotomayor of Latina pop justice, and her hips don’t lie. Love Shakira!
Here in Hollywood, here’s how you ranked your hottest celebrity news items tonight. Enjoy your choices. Thanks Team.

… was hoop’n today. Black girls who have the courage to lose their weaves in public, are just too fearless and real!
America loves Beyonce’s little sister because she’s so cheeky!
… as the Armenia American princess goes blonde. She’s now got J-Lo locks and booty for Africa, but footballer, Reggie Bush, don’t want it. You get that when you’re hot!
Kim is onwards and upwards to new things. She’s looking good.
… with Sam Worthington. Yet more confirmation that boy bangs (and high maintenance) hair styles are out for men during a recession.
Let’s keep it simple and get on with it, is the message to “save” the world in these trying economic times.
Men’s hair product companies the world over, must be feeling the knocks as more and more male stars opt for shorter dos.
Let’s wurq ya’ll. An “action Jackson” attitude gets the job done quicker. You know it!
My favorite byline for this cover is: “Eat Like a Man. Recipes for Men. The Best Fast Food in America.”
It sounds like fighting obesity in America is too expensive to eat healthy. Esquire urges men to just enjoy the comforts of take out dinners, and pocket the savings and be thankful. If you can though, eat healthy takeaways. Chinese is always good!
From chocolate brown to blonde, Britney Spears spent 9 hours in a West Hollywood, LA hair salon, getting her weave and hair extensions did! 9 hours!!! No wonder why she once famously shaved her own head. That’s insane. Splash
Horiwood’s Top 10 today in Hollywood as voted by you the people worldwide are:
horiwood’s last twitter pick was from dale who is back in NZ :( Here it is: “@horiwood Definitely home – nothin like singing the Lord’s Prayer in Maori this am at Te Ataakura’s christening & crying over the AB’s loss.”9:50 PM Aug 1st from web in reply to horiwood
Lady Gaga piled purple candy floss on her head, recently in Copenhagen Denmark.
She’s hysterical, aint she?!
… the hair stylist, that is. Cute! No more manky hair extensions for the Heroes hottie! Hayden Panettiere is onwards and upwards with her new Bob do! How very Posh of her, don’t you think?
Fashionista, Victoria Beckham would be so proud.
Why Celebrity Hairstyles Magazine is even running with a picture of Kristen Stewart’s hair did, when Stewart was in Twlight Mode is beyond us?!
The Joan Jett version of Kristen Stewart’s current rocker character in the film The Runaways, is not only more now but a lot edgier.
Are they a bit desperate for a Twilight magazine cover, or what?! Can’t blame them really, Twilight is hot!
