On their website today, the band are giving away their new CD, Left, Right, Left, Right to all of their concert goers this year. Wow! It’s cool that the LRLR title theme of their album is in keeping with friends, peers U2‘s latest song, Get On Your Boots… with Coldplay tying this album’s theme to a marching or military band that urges their fans to march forward out of fear in these economic times towards a better future. Very smart tie in here! The US is where the CD giveaway is most needed, that band thinks! Interesting… (more…)
SOCIAL ENGINEERING is the star of the Obama Administration. Not only America, but also the world, with America as it’s Hollywood pretty model of world change. Discuss…
Furthermore, the subtext of the new presidency and the Obama administration is: when “world change” philosphy became flesh and was over-layed in effective US policy. It dwelt among us and was mirrored by all around the world through US society’s mammoth remodeling undertaking by President Obama. (more…)
People magazine, give everyone an outlet to grieve their sense of loss over the last year in a global recession, with The Travolta family on People’s cover over the tragic loss of their son, Jett. Ironically, the corporate jet airplane is perhaps the greatest symbol of loss, to corporate America in this economy. The loss of the Travolta family’s eldest child puts devastating loss, in perspective over any plane. We are reminded to grieve, cherish life and not material possessions in order to move forward living more meaningful lives. The Travoltas inspire with their story.
If I had to write a movie script tomorrow, that was relevant for a recession climate, it would be based on this movie premise: what if the world bank wanted to rule the world?
If you’re wondering how the world spins today in the world of politics and business, then here’s a great political links round up for you by Emily Sherman.
Here’s Scarlette Johannson’s ads for Moet & Chandon. Obviously heavily blinged out with photoshop to the point where the bubbly liquor looks like Niagra exploding from out of a bottle. The French really have overdone it here a little, but Scarlette looks great. Are the French hoping that sales of the national nectar will explode to help them out of global recession? Not a bad solution, France, not a bad solution, at all! (more…)
Apart from Hollywood Entertainment News, there are things that are just a tad bit more important in the world. Like… fixing the state of the global economy and the future of our children and grandchildren and their children to come. What greater calling is upon us all than that? If Entertainment can provide light relief in between a globalized focus of repair, then it is useful. If it can convey key messages that help our future, then entertainment and the entertainment industry has shown wisdom in realigning with the relevancy of the times in which we all live. This must be our goal, not only in Hollywood but all around the world. When leaders speak, we must listen. I am. Hope you are too.
At 43, the mother, supermodel, biz entrepreneur known as Cindy Crawford brings it in Allure, to celebrate woman and aging well. Breaking the bread of friendship, is much needed to get through global recession being more community minded of others is good. Nations communing more with other nations will help us all.
Also, breaking the bread to feed the hungry, is what’s needed more than ever in these global times that are upon us. I love this pic, it says a lot! And Cindy, brings it, as she always has to America’s dinner table of topical conversation. Inspiring! Cindy’s arms in her swimsuit are like Michelle Obama‘s sleeveless fashion style. American momma’s are gonna tear it up, to feed and remember their ‘American children’ in need! You know it!
that’s darn right! :) Good luck to New York’s Attorney General, Andrew Cuomo in retrieving the $165 million payouts of AIG.
Here’s the other American C[u]omo, singing live in Tokyo Japan his hit And I Love You So. Bring back the people who are not like AIG execs, who actually love their country. I <3 a return to American values of Perry Como’s generation. Bring it on! Onwards & upwards!
I’m trying to stay positive on this one. So bear with me! Here are Horiwood.Com’s thoughts:
1. Don’t mess with a New York Italian, Attorney General Andrew Cuomo is all over this one, AIG! Be afraid, be very afraid! :)
2. Clearly, AIG execs thought that they were working for a lotteries board. They managed to give out 105 winning lotto tickets, creating 105 AIG millionaires overnight. The message, don’t buy a lottery ticket, come and work at AIG!
3. They’ve been caught with their pants down, screwing the American taxpayer and the AIG shareholders.
4. The round up of how these gang bangers who raped and bullied American’s better interests + their mug shots, are still to hit the press.
For Horiwood.Com’s full report of: AIG - WHO GOT WHAT OF $165 MILLION, WHEN & HOW THEY DID IT plus a full copy of Andrew Cuomo’s letter of findings…. see below:
Still trying to come to grips with how he could so get the numbers wrong for America and its economy over the last few years, Alan Greenspan has this to say:
The housing bubble is a global problem and not just an American one. To read his, (actually interesting) findings go here: The Economist.
It ‘s been a strange week. First we saw Bernie Madoff, a man with a personal fortune of US$823 million, who still wasn’t happy and his wanna-be-a-billionaire complex, led him to defraud $US64.4 billion from investors. This earned Madoff a 150 year prison sentence. Comedian Jon Stuart, described the duration of Madoff’s sentence as a “tortoise pete” moment this week.
Now, there are the reports that AIG (American International Group), who will receive a handout by the US tax-payer to the tune of $175 billion to stay afloat, are giving their CEO’s golden handshake pay-outs to total $170 million. It’s shocked and angered Americans. The $175 billion is the largest ever pay out to a single company by the US government in history.
Missing your fix of Presidential oxygen that can cut through the negativity of bad economy news? There’s nothing like Barack Obama’s words of hope to cheer us up! Let’s reflect on Mr ObamaMistic‘s optimistic words.
So good! Do you have COURAGE to lead the world forward too? Of course you do!!! ….
AMERICA NO LONGER HAS THE BIG BROTHER TITLE IN THE WORLD? WE ARE ALL BROTHERS IN THE SAME BOAT. GEITHNER APPEALS TO WORLD FINANCIAL LEADERS
US Treasury secretary Timothy Geithner was sent to pimp it out for America this week, to a meeting of world financial leaders and the world bank… here’s what he said:
‘the global economy is in a “challenging period” and that the crisis is “still evolving”… ‘economic recovery in the United States depends on its companies’ access to “open and growing economies” globally. Geithner said the U.S. recovery “will be stronger if the world is stronger.”
Word! Now let’s show more respect to other nations outside of American shores, if we are appealing to them for their money, to then access… to help save America as well as their corners of the world. That’s a good start, perhaps. In this round of press, Geithner admits that America is no longer ‘big brother’ but is in the same economic boat in order to survive the financial crises of the global recession, like any other developed nation. Nice persuasive skills Tim! All nations must pony up. Word!
