In memory of Patrick Swayze, why not donate and uplift the world from Swayze-Land (the US) to make a difference to the children of the poorest nation on earth?
Sadly, Swaziland has the lowest life expectancy rate of all nations on the planet. On average people live to only 31 years of age. That’s 25 years less than Patrick Swayze walked and danced on this earth. Make a difference and give the gift of life today.
We have the power to give to children in dire need. Like Swayze inspired us, we can give Swaziland, the time of their life by making a difference and giving each child of Swaziland a prolonged life, one life at a time.
Go here to donate to Swaziland via World Vision today. Let’s dance across the nations of the world, with our generosity to uplift the human spirit. Thank you.
~Freedom is the ability to give of yourself when a moment calls to uplift another~
Here’s the latest from the Twilight Saga’s New Moon movie trailer. Kristen Stewart’s Bella and Robert Pattinson’s Edward have an encounter in Water. Riveting stuff.
Thanks Twilighters. Horiwood.Com thanks you.
Like water for the soul you come
to the thirsty and the longing in heart.
Rain down your mercy, to the children of this earth
from the nations who have plenty to give.
From Hollywood, California, USA –this is my prayer today.
Charity Water is an organization that exists because: One billion people on the planet don’t have access to clean drinking water. That’s one in six of us. charity: water is a non-profit organization bringing clean and safe drinking water to people in developing nations. 100% of public donations directly fund water projects.

Hollywood’s Queen of hearts and refugees world wide, Angelina Jolie stopped by in Kenya, Saturday.
Jolie arrived at the Somali-Kenyan border’s Dadaab Refugee Camp. The camp was originally built for 90,000 people, but now holds 285,000 Somalis who fled for their lives to Kenya.
Jolie has been a United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees since 2001 and she’s visited many nations to stare into the faces of the refugee crises. Such nations include: Sierra Leone, The Balkans, Namibia, Thailand, Cambodia, Pakistan, Ecuador and Tanzania.
Of hanging out at the world’s coal face of the refugee struggle, Angelina Jolie says:
“I’ve become a better human being. I’ve learned the strength of the human spirit. I see different aid workers in camps helping each other from everywhere –people who have come together from all over the world to lend a helping hand. It’s really changed my view of what is actually important. I’m not concerned with things I used to be so concerned with. I feel that now I’m of some use to other people in the world.”
She’s our Hollywood hero! To make a difference to those in need is the purpose of every blessing and good fortune we may have in this world. I love this woman!
To donate to Dadaab refugees better future, go here. Thank you!

Angelina Jolie’s charity of choice, Doctors Without Borders, has highlighted the plight of the Sudanese people today.
Here’s what MSF say on the matter: “A violent attack in Jonglei State, Southern Sudan, at the end of August resulted in the reported deaths of 42 people. MSF is mobilizing resources to help victims of the attack, which injured more than 60 and displaced up to 24,000.”
To help 24,000 displaced people in Sudan today, who have no help unless we act, go here to donate. Thank you.
When you’re a global humanitarian pop star, like Shakira, who can write a US$45 million check for Peruvian and Nicaraguan aid and relief, everyone suddenly wants to know how you can afford to do this.
Vanity Fair so much wanted a piece of Shakira’s eclectic taste sensibility so much that they wrote this about the Labanese-Colombian singer/poet/songwriter’s latest musical offering: “From Indian influences to a klezmer-inflected clarinet solo, Shakira’s new album, She Wolf, is as meltingly multi-culti as the Lebanese-Colombian singer herself. But Michael Roberts went 100 percent Parisian, photographing Shakira in this season’s Dior, Chanel, and Gaultier, with a touch of Cartier bling. The author, meanwhile, finds himself oddly charmed by the way she howls.” [Note to Vanity Fair: You sound so white right now].
That’s just a little bit ‘melting pot-ish’ for a girl who just knows how to give and then everything else works out in the end. Conducting her interview by phone from her home in the Bahama’s with Vanity Fair in New York, Shakira can’t understand what the fuss about her ‘exoticness’ is about either. She simply says of her new album She Wolf, being released in October:
“I have music from India, the Middle East, dancehall, a little bit of Colombian influences. I always loved disco, so the new record has disco elements, but also house—it’s electropop.”
There’s only one secret to being as successful AND sweet as Shakira. The secret is to give. Unless you do that, you will always wonder, like Vanity Fair how someone can be so successful. You may make it about their exoticness and talent, but the truth is that its about their generosity of spirit. People who give like Shakira are giants of humanity on this earth. We love this girl.
To read more, go here. Shakira is know as a Latin superstar. The truth is, she’s half Lebanese. The Lebanese descend from a longline of merchant traders, who traded across the moutain tops of various countries in the Middle East for centuries. When they settled in Lebanon, their Middle Eastern sensibilities were invaded by both the English and the French. Therefore their biz savvy skills to trade across nations became fused with the best taste in Europe. That’s Shakira’s X factor as a Latino star. One of her greatest role models growing up was the Lebanese singer Fairuz ( نهاد حداد) who sung in Arabic and is still regarded as one of the greatest singers of the Arab world. Notice how Fayrouz singing below, sounds like how Shakira sings? Shakira is the Fairuz of America. But America is not her main source of income. Clever!
Mr Jay-Z (hip hop’s Barack Obama media mogul figure) and his lovely wife Beyonce Knowles, stepped out for charity in the City of New York for the Answer The Call Concert.
The couple that gives together, stays grounded together. Giving is what is needed in this economy. People who hold on tightly to their money without giving a thought to others will one day lose it all. Greed is a sickness America is still crawling out from. The trainwreck spirit of greed, ultimately ruined the US economy.
The beauty is: Giving is the only way out of it. Let’s all give more and love more and break the cycle of debt. If you don’t have money, give some of your creativity and time. Give something of yourself today.
I love the fact that Jay-Z and Beyonce lead America forward through being giving souls. What an example to set. Image via US Weekly, from WireImage pics. Photo credit: Kevin Mazur. Thanks Kevin. To find out more about The Answer The Call initiative for 9/11 rebuilding, go here.
African American students are in need of a lift to support America’s next wave of bright leaders. The United Negro College Fund needs $5 million right now, to get UNCF’s existing students through college.
Give generously and donate here. Generosity of spirit releases new life into your spirit, business endeavors and your own dreams being fulfilled quicker. Become a part of investing in the next wave of American leadership today.
One more reason of motivation to do so, the man below. Thanks team.
America was shocked over the weekend when Reality TV Love went wrong. Reality TV star Ryan Alexander Jenkins murdered his TV co-star and real life girlfriend, Jasmine Flores and stuffed her body in a suitcase, that was discovered in a Southern Californian dumpster. He later took his own life after he crossed the border into Canada. Shocking, sad, unecessary! RIP. Our thoughts go out to all of their family and friends and this time. Poor Jasmine Flores.
In other news, here’s how you all voted your Sunday entertainment items of interest here in Hollywood on Horiwood.Com.
Where oh where does Beyonce find the time? The triple threat entertainer was photographed in Chicago, Sunday feeding America’s homeless with the support she is loaning to the Show Your Helping Hand hunger initiative. She’s just too much.
It’s fascinating how Show Your Helping Hand features a gloved hand like Michael Jackson, and MJ’s songs We Are The World and Feed The World were his two big messages of humanitarian change towards good. Beyonce’s PR team were so on it, a long time ago and she is doing what MJ urged through his music.
In Chicago, the singer revealed that what kills her each night, is not hunger, it is her feet. Apparently when she’s dancing, all Beyonce can think of is the choreography but when she takes her high heeled diva shoes off at night, her feet just kill her and she wants to “chop them off.”
According to her baby sister Solange’s twitter, the Knowles girls used to run around the track in their high heel shoes when kids, which gave them an “advantage.”
Woah! The price of fame! But it’s great to see Beyonce doing nice things with her celebrity and spotlight. Go Beyonce!
Disney Princess, Selena Gomez, walked the red carpet for an important message, at the Raise Hope For The Congo event in LA! She just keeps getting cuter and cuter.
What a radiant spirit, Selena Gomez has. And she’s ALWAYS doing charity too. Love it! [image: wire image]
Doug Pitt, the brother of actor Brad Pitt, has just announced that the Brad Pitt family, Doug and his wife Lisa and Rob and Julie Neal (nee Pitt) have made a $1 million donation to St. John’s in Springfield, Missouri!
A “new 31 pediatric unit, a 10-bedroom hospital-based Ronald McDonald House; and double the size the neonatal intensive and pediatric intensive care units,” will be funded from the donation, that also aids cancer research.
In honor of their mother, the medical center is being renamed. It will be called the St. John’s Jane Pitt Pediatric Cancer Center. Celebrities who give and who honor their parents are THE BEST! Let’s all do the same.

This from Hilary Clinton today: I like it because hunger is the other side of greed’s coin. Replace the word greed for hunger, every time and you’re attacking the root of all hunger in the world. Nice one Hilary. You inspire!
