ANGELINA JOLIE HEADS TO A PARIS AQUARIUM TWO DAYS IN A ROW
Angelina Jolie wants everyone to know she loves fish, fish and more fish. She can’t get enough fish and she wants all of her children to see fish swim in Aquariums. I wonder if there were any salmon in that fishy aquarium in Paris, France.
Yesterday Jolie took her two eldest daughters and son Pax to Paris Aquarium for a day trip. Today she took her twin son, Knox on his own special outing to the Aquarium for quality mother and son, fishy time.
On the way, Jolie didn’t seemed perturbed by the falling snow at this magical time of year in Paris France.

SHILOH JOLIE-PITTS ZEBRA BOOTS AT A PARIS AQUARIUM
Young Shiloh Jolie-Pitt turned heads and hearts as she stepped out in her zebra patterned boots on a family trip in Paris to an Aquarium. Zahara, who turns six in January, wore black leggings tucked into black boots, a black puffa jacket and her hair pulled-up into cute bunches either side of her head.

THE HORIWOOD TOP TEN – MON 11.29.10
It is the second time Brad Pitt has seen Megamind. This time Mr Pitt is pictured with Angelina seeing the film again in Paris, France.
Wikileaks US leaked docs news dominates our top ten celebrity, entertainment news posts here in Hollywood. A shock, because this is not a political blog but an entertainment celebrity blog. I guess world leaders are celebrities right now then, if they’re rating above known celeb names. A good sign.
Here’s John Key‘s quote on the 1600 documents that relate to New Zealand, 1400 hundred of them stemming from Wellington: ”My understanding is it’s more likely to be the odd sort of comment which is colourful in nature, the sort of thing that you might say to your mate around the coffee table but not necessarily something you’d want written down and read by the person that you were reporting on—I see biodocuments (documents about people) or I see reports that come in from our embassies and high commissions around the world. They always have a degree of colour or [creative] licence about them. I take them with a grain of salt. Generally the positions we hold we make them public anyway.”
Good advice on how Wikileaks docs should be read. Just like most things written on this blog really. On that note, our top ten voted worldwide today are:
1. Pic: Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson vacation in Capri
2. Saudi Arabia and Arab leaders side with Israel’s view of Iran
3. Olivia Wilde does all the stuff Megan Fox won’t do
4. Jay-Z and Beyonce have late lunch in New Zealand
5. Wikileaks: Saudi gives President Obama “glowing” review like John Key will get
6. Kate Middleton’s comparisons to Princess Dianna are prevalent
7. Zahara Jolie-Pitt has the Naomi Campbell pouts down pat already
8. Kim Kardashian covers W Magazine
9. Art: Kanye West & Lady Gaga
10. TIE A: Is there ‘lost trust’ in the USA over the wikileaks docs scandal?
10. TIE B: Jay-Z’s tribute to lost Greymouth Miners
“No one is under any illusions about how we feel about the Fiji administration at the moment or what’s happening in Afghanistan so I’d be surprised if there’s anything there”–JK for NZ.
TVNZ reporting via NZPA on NZ’s Position about the US criticism in the Wikileaks Doc: ‘After revelations via Wikileaks that diplomats were told to spy on United Nations figures, the US is accountable, NZ’s leader says.
‘Among the documents released was a classified directive to US diplomats sent on behalf of US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in July 2009 which sought intelligence on the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and the ambassadors of the other permanent members of the UN Security Council – Britain, China, Russia and France.
The “new national human intelligence collection directive” was sent to US representatives at the UN missions in New York, Vienna and Rome, and 33 embassies and consulates. The UN has reacted saying it will take up concerns with the US and that its operations under the 1946 convention on the privileges and immunities of the United Nations included immunity from search or interference by member governments.
Key did not criticise the US when asked about the controversy this afternoon.

FRENCH PRESIDENT NICHOLAS SARKOZY’S WIKILEAKS PROFILE
While many in Washington are upset that the Wikileaks team could be responsible for ‘blood on their hands’ by leaking secret US information regarding America’s foreign affairs portfolios to the world, I guess the French President is a little bit upset too.
According to KeyC.Com, a division of Fox and CBS, the leaked documents describe Sarkozy as being “a naked emperor.” With Paris being the couture capitol of the world, historically– that must have hurt.
And France is one nation that is not in the lowest five in-debt nations of the EEC, I’m a little bit confused by that remark. Oh well… I’m a little slow, I guess.
French journalists were quick to rally around Washington in condemning Wikileaks media distribution model, saying: “Wikileaks’ revelations are “irresponsible” and “an attack on states’ sovereignty and the confidentiality of their correspondence”, said French official Bernard Valero to journalists. THE JOLIE-PITTS SHOP FRANCE WITH THEIR CHILDREN
“Angelina was great. She’s patient, and a very hands-on mother, making certain everything fits,” tells an onlooker to People Magazine, at a report that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie took their children shopping. Brad was described as being “an agreeable” doting dad.
The report also says: Hollywood’s star couple “took daughters Zahara and Shiloh holiday shopping in Paris Saturday and it looks like they’ll be able to check quite a few things off their gift list, including pants, pajamas, gloves, sweaters, boots, stuffed animals, knights’ costumes (complete with tunics, swords and shields) and one large green plastic alligator, according to staff at the Bonpoint boutique on rue de Tournon near the Luxembourg Gardens.”
Nice. Where’s the photograph? That must be coming in the next day or so from People too.

TONY PARKER SOUNDS LIKE HE WANTS EVA LONGORIA BACK
Speaking to People, Tony Parker says of his divorce case with wife, actor Eva Longoria these things:
Parker denied a report– that he went to court first. “Eva and I have been discussing our situation privately. I was aware that she would be filing for divorce in Los Angeles. “I did not file for divorce in Texas and did not hire divorce attorneys in either Texas or California. We plan to continue to keep our discussions of this matter private,” said Parker via his rep.
The fact that Tony is not turning this issue into a publicity spectacle perhaps indicates that he wants to stay with his wife.
Actors are always dramatic. With so many splits occurring as show biz news right now, perhaps Eva feels she’s being totally normally filing for divorce right now with her celebrity peers. However, let’s see if Longoria will stick with him. This brotha from France is only 28. He’s achieved so much and yet he’s learning like all of us. Perhaps he deserves another chance.
Unlike many other basketball players, Tony’s had to tuxedo up so many times to keep his wife happy to fulfill her star commitments, surely that counts for something in Texas? and California.

HELEN MIRREN PREFERS FRENCH HUMOR OVER BRIT HUMOR
Dame Helen Mirren says via The UK Telegraph“I prefer the finesse of French humour. English humour is: harsher, more scathing, more cruel and more surreal too, as illustrated by Monty Python and the TV series Little Britain, where situations are far-fetched and over-the-top. England is constantly threatened by a savage assimilation. This isn’t the case with France which remains furiously protective of its culture.”
Well, in an increasingly globalizing world – French snobbery, protecting its culture within ‘language’ is not a bad idea to have an authentic sense of self.

JOHNNY DEPP AND ANGELINA JOLIE BRING HOLLYWOOD’S AND ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY’S MAGAZINE COVER OF THE YEAR
Says mega box office earner, Johnny Depp in this cover of the year for Entertainment Weekly in Hollywood:
“So much has been written about Angie and Brad [Pitt]. They’re sort of the Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton of our era. I knew she was a big star, but I didn’t know what to expect…”
The star cinematic couple say that both had never met before working on their new film. Hot Magazine cover, as an alternative from a Brad and Angie cover, or a Johnny Depp magazine cover too.
Their billboards are everywhere in Hollywood. I’ll get you a snap shot of one, twenty yards from my place, tomorrow here in the hood. The French-friendly American movie stars are looking good.

MAIKI SHERMAN – COVERS POLITICS IN THE MAORI LANGUAGE – SHANE JONES FOR TAMAKI ELECTORATE, THAT’S CULTURALLY VISIBLE IN NUANCED ARTS 2010′s
In the age of iPhone and digital media telephony – globally, a nation’s visibility is perceived as credibility. Maori and Polynesian Arts as Visual Arts getting more visual in Tamaki is a necessity to attract a global economy to New Zealand. The substance transmitted in all media that cannot be replicated, it stands on its own, will always be Spirit. If we possess it, we must serve it to Shine.
If we are credible, we must match the integrity of our belief with greater and more creative visibility as leading entertainers contributing to culture in the world. Whether they know it yet or not, the world needs US and our culture as expressed from artistic spirits–Horiwood on Arts & Visual Arts in The Super City – 2010′s.
Hot! Watch this clip to see news reporter Maiki Sherman covering politics and news in Auckland – The Supercity in Te Reo Rangatira (the language of Chiefs).
This clip also features Shane Jones who will stand in the Tamaki electorate, next election. Presenter Scotty Morrison and executive producer Tini Molyneux for Te Karere News bring us this unique story in Hollywood, wtih Maiki – for your viewing pleasure and Hollywood entertainment diversity.
Shane was Harvard educated in America, where he studied with his wife and children. He also speaks the indigenous peoples language of New Zealand – a future trend for all politicians in New Zealand to become more proficient in, for the upcoming years of NZ politics. It’s time.
For Maori leaders like Shane, promoting Maori women into leadership roles across all sectors of society is his and his male peers’ (regardless of color) next biggest challenge. I see Shane being very instrumental, visionary and gentlemanly in this role as the world seeks out Maori women leadership and their wisdom as women on many global issues concerning other women, in the world. Maori and Kiwi women have a gift to lead that’s on the rise.
[Um, I'm posting this clip, because Mr Jones said "And how is that talented son of yours?" to my Maori Helensville-raised mom, when the two last met, at Dame June Jackson's anointing in Auckland - The Supercity.
[This pic - Samuel Marsden of Yorkshire, a later arrival and founding father of New Zealand]
Shane and I both grew up in Nga Puhi country – when he was not in America studying, learning at the feet of Maori Marsden - one of the greatest minds on theology, whose gift of Peace to mediate, along with Gra Theodore‘s is legendary in the ilk of New Zealand leadership circles.
Maori Marsden was the great grandson of Samuel Marsden of whom exploits and legends of New Zealand history books write about. Samuel had a spirit of deep respect for Maori, similar to that of Sir Douglas Graham. I pay respect to these greats today too from Los Angeles, The Entertainment Capitol of the World.]
For all of you Hollywood readers –manners with a reply back is how I was raised. My reply: E pehea ana a Lucas raua ko Kylie Brown? Kia ora te whanau katoa. Kia kaha.
Maiki Sherman appears at the end of the clip, rocking it in the Maori language. Is New Zealand getting a cultural revolution in between filming Hobbits in 3D for Hollywood audiences, or what? So exciting to see Maori and Polynesian culture thriving. That’s the spirit. It would be awesome to see a leader from the Tamaki Electorate develop and foster Maori Art House Cinema in Tamaki and take Maori and Polynesian cultural operatic performance to cirque de Soleil heights too, in Tamaki.
We need cultural visibility in theater, film, fashion, globally competitive music and dance choreography that’s relatable, emulatable and appealing — across all arts genres diversity to compete with the way visual arts, are being used in political circles today.
In observing political trends in and from the USA – A nation’s arts, proceeds it’s message of political value. There’s no way around that. Art and culture is the artistic armory of Kings to trade within a culturally nuanced global market place.
Now there’s a challenge for a Tamaki electorate leader to foster and ensure for Auckland City’s global presence – for our Prime Minister and nation’s culture and economy growing and feeding into each other, naturally, like enriched dialogue depicting intelligence of expression and maturity of nationhood, in our pride and sense of place – from a paradise nation rich and beautiful in ecological resource.
[Message to Tamaki Electorate - Horiwood Hollywood, is pictured holding Wellington-based Maori-produced magazine Tu Mai in Hollywood California. Held is an image of visual artist, model and talent, Yasmin Bidois, 15, symbolizing people wealth of our young people’s talented potential. Yasmin wears a Hei Tiki in pounamu worn by Wahine Rangatira of the Chiefly ancients – but now, a young woman faces the challenges before her in a modern world. This image depicts a visible age of Maori and Polynesian in the age of iPhone mobile telephony and all media globally.
The artistic statement is: “Maori on French Art fusion via Hollywood, California USA.” All Maori produced media in making this low budget visual message. Put simply – Visibility is our credibility. Let’s get louder and more visual to express and grow Tamaki’s artistic cultural potential in The World and to compete in a global economy. Korowai evening dress, Yves St Laurent, couture of France, 1952. In honor of French-Maori connection in the arts, as Yasmin also symbolizes by blood. We are New Zealand art. Let’s get visual with sophisticated production budgets in creating our own globally appealing artists and messangers of cultural texts that have an appealing message about who we are as Kiwis. Mauri ‘Ola tatou.

A HISTORIC FRENCH FASHION INTERLUDE – ADRIENNE CHANEL TAKES THE WHANAU DOG FOR A WALK, 1913
Humor: Dressed in clothes made by her sister, Adrienne Chanel takes the family dog, for a walk along the boulevard by the Deauville Ocean.
[This post going up in honor of my dad, whose middle name is Adrian, named by his late mother Elizabeth Maude Bailey, a stylish God fearing woman, who named her son in honor of the masculine French version of Adrienne, Coco Chanel's sister. My grandmother loved Coco Chanel's artistry too as a designer, who women worldwide found a voice in, even as far afield as the countryside of beautiful New Zealand green pastures. In honor of her mother-in-law, a talented milliner, perhaps she named dad, after Adrienne in acknowledgment of great grandma's unique skills to create magical moments of world worthy fashion, in remote parts of the world too. To this day, my father chooses to see women's strengths equal to those of men. He's always been that way. He does not discriminate between sexes. If you lead, you lead].

OCEANS OF ENCOURAGEMENT LIKE CHICKEN TORTILLA SOUP FOR THE SOUL
Just like from a painting, poet Uncle Emile knocked on the door this morning.
On the agenda today was feeding me up on chicken tortilla soup and a sturdy cobb salad with balsamic vinaigrette dressing, Kanim family encouragement and a reminder that “our whole family loves you.”
We were very French Market today, philosophical poetic as vast as the ocean wide, limitless, expansive; washing over pebbles of Santa Monica Blvd heat. Fresh tides of goodness, of them there is no end in the presence of a friend.
Ironically we were nowhere near France, but we ‘were’ in France via Lebanon, Montreal, Paris, USA thinking on this day. Emile always alters time and space and location for me. He’s old school world wisdom. Timeless.
Thanks Uncle Emile. Even on a sweltering California beach day, you’re always the coolest. Emile always reminds me, that the Art of Encouragement is one of the greatest arts of all. Thank you.

CHARLES ROUX ON COCO CHANEL AND HER SISTERS
Starting any business requires family support, if you have that luxury. In his book Chanel and Her World, author Charles Roux was not all that kind in describing how Coco Chanel discovered the value of mannequins.
He posits that because Chanel’s sister Adrienne first began to borrow clothes from her store racks and wear them up town, that people saw the dresses, pants suits, what have you, on Chanel’s sisters, would then go to her store to buy the same said clothes. Roux posits that ‘this was the way Chanel discovered the value of mannequins.’
Gosh! That wasn’t very kind to Coco’s sisters, Mr Roux. Anyway, pictures of this story are in this post. And as this book is so outrageous, I’m going to keep sharing tid bits from it, as I’m able, so that budding designers from California to New Zealand, can learn how Mr Roux, think she rolled as a designer.
He’s very subjective though, (‘sisters as mannequins!!!’) but the photographs are real and unphotoshopped-so well worth a share.

THE HORIWOOD TOP TEN – WED 9.22.10
Fashion designers best work often was inspired by nature. Here’s Christian Dior‘s evening dress and cocktail dress of 1952 demonstrating a nature theme. Depleting meadows was the gist.
Any man who assigned this degree of time-consuming needlework to any women, must have been either an artist or a tad bit festidious in the delegation department, but look how beautiful his creations were. This artwork is the result of Rebe, Dior’s embroiderer. What a lady.
Maori korowai feather cloaks are sewn feather by feather for a chief in the same time consuming manner.
The Maori feather cloak aesthetic is shown here also, by Yves St Laurent’s dinner dress, 1969. Hollywood entertainment and celebrity news items you found interesting today feature in our top ten. Thanks everyone. Make every day count and let’s give more. :)
