BRADLEY TUCK DOES FUN PUBLICITY FOR VILLAINS TAVERN, DOWNTOWN L.A

Having coffee with Bradley Tuck, relatively new P.R guy,  for the Villains Tavern. Says Daily Candy of Villains Tavern, “Though your only brushes with the law include a speeding ticket and a slap on the wrist for jaywalking, Villains Tavern can still be your new night spot.

Restaurateur and interior designer Dana Hollister (Bordello, 4100, Brite SpotCliff’s Edge) has lent a steampunk touch to what once was a rundown sandwich shop. A centuries-old salvaged bar top, antique ironwork, and rich red and dark wood interior take lofty ceilings to the sinister side while swinging vintage chandeliers add Hollister’s signature hint of swank. But it’s the 1,600-square-foot open-air patio complete with bar, stage, church pew seating, and shuffleboard — all illuminated by candles and Edison bulbs, that will take your globetrotting breath away.” Think Shakespeare and Marlowe grab an ale at their updated downtown local. Beer theater with a hint of Hollister at its best.

But seriously, Villains Tavern has some of L.A’s best restaurant PR going on. [Read more about Hollister's brand positioning at Urban Daddy].

This picture courtesy of Thrillist website, where green-conscious Bradley has set up a little competition that if you mention the word “thrillist” you can enter a prize draw for a $999 Dahon folding bike (made in California). Cars in Downtown L.A are rarely used by local residents. Always forward thinking, Bradley’s P.R is the baddest, and you can carry a Dahon bike onto the subway, or even store it behind your couch in your expensive apartment with city  views. Tuck’s (not the Friar, but Bradley’s) #1 P.R running mate in L.A is Megan. She pops as a marketing winner of the future.

And in L.A’s ever expanding business circles, Dana Hollister cannot be stopped. Dana is about to open four more restaurants and a hotel. She be growing that California economy in an edgy hospitable way. Nice job. But throw caution to the wind when visiting Dana, Bradley and Megan, you’ll have too much fun at happy hour. Just watch out for drunk cyclists, leaving Dana’s fun establishment, because her cocktails are strong at V.T. Let’s go Downtown L.A. Up!

Nice P.R Bradley. Go English gentleman like Bradley acting  as good publicists in the U.S.A.

To experience the excitement of California’s culture, life, sites of hospitality and entertainment, come and experience L.A for yourself.

ART: DECONSTRUCTING LA in PASTEL

Think polaroids stacked on top of each other, but artwork drawn in pastel. This artwork titled Deconstructing LA is on show at the Brewery Art Walk in Downtown LA, as created by one of these talented artists. I like it a lot.

Californian artists are way cool. Get to see this exhibition if you can. I totally enjoyed it.

AMERICAN ART: PROSPERITY SERIES

This sculpture is being exhibited in Downtown LA at the moment. Titled ‘Prosperity’ it is part 2, of a wider series titled Prosperity. It says a lot about America’s way forward for her economy’s repair and rebuilding project in this moment.

I am totally loving Californian artists right now. Like, I’m totally obsessed with their honest commentaries on US society.  They do pop cultural commentary in their artwork like few others can, on a level that you’d expect, creating art from the Entertainment Capitol of the World. Hot!

And let’s not forget that outside of any corporate system or structure, that an artist is also a self-employed business person. They own their own business and create the product, market it and sell it too–so if anyone perhaps knows what hot trends are that will sell to grow the American economy quicker–artists know… better than most.

And that’s just yet another reason why art is so important and artists have an amazing voice for the world. Let’s look to artists as well as other leaders for their perspective on the world. If we are humble and wise, we just might learn something from them. I’m learning a lot from Californian artists. They pop!

[Image: Snapped fresh by Horiwood, 4.19.2010 --because blogging authenticity has to start with us as a blogging community who say we are based in Hollywood, that others look to, worldwide--adding to/ while we also consume other photographers images each day... so I'm making a conscious effort to grow the arts and wider entertainment news community by snapping and sharing pics too. ;) ]

PHOTOGRAPHY: AMERICAN WORKER by TIM TIMMERMAN

Gotta love a California artist who celebrates American life in all of its glories and… struggles too. Here’s Tim Timmerman‘s American Worker tribute photograph.

So inspiring. Let’s go America! It’s the majority that really build America The Beautiful in any generation. Art work that celebrates that in this current climate is going to be a big hit. Hard work is the way forward. Yes We Can. Thanks Tim for the message and for being an artist and photographer and musician that LA loves.

AMERICAN ART: I AM GOLD ON A BLACK TORSO

I love this art piece featured at the Brewery Art Walk artists exhibition of LA by an exhibiting sculptor nearing 70 years-of-age. It’s simple and yet deep in that Andy Warhol pop commentary way. The gold on the black torso is Assyrian figuerines cast in gold. It is a part of the Art of Chess series, created by one of these artists. Flip the hood to see whose exhibiting. Go see this exhibition. It’s fantastic. (more…)

ART: PEACE PLEASE by TIM TIMMERMAN

Tim Timmerman is a musician and photographer exhibiting at the Brewery Art Walk in Downtown LA. Here’s Tim’s photgraphic piece titled Peace Please that features Tim’s god daughter as the central subject. Tim’s face can be seen in the photo’s reflection. I like artwork like this. It makes us think about future generations.

A SUNDAY AFTERNOON 2009 @ BREWERY ART WALK, LOS ANGELES

Los Angeles artists are always so inspiring as spotted today at the Brewery Art Walk Art Expo, where 100 resident Angeleno artists exhibit their work in their studio-homes sprawled throughout an old brewery. Too much beauty in an industrial setting where the harsh of iron and rust meets pretty Californian art.

Here’s the photograph A Sunday Afternoon 2009. Isn’t it fun to support California and California artists.

Love them!
