His gift to America as a celebrity is this message – “Judge not, least you judge yourself with me”–the art of Mel Gibson as a hate target.
Mel Gibson who holds the current heavyweight title of “Anti-semitic, girlfriend threatner. And hate target trouble maker” in Hollywood, is set to make a movie comeback. If we recall, Gibson was very instrumental in helping Britney Spears make her comeback. It looks like Mel, knows a thing or ten about being a comeback kid.
Popeater, reports: “Mel Gibson has been in Hollywood jail ever since the disastrous fallout from his relationship with ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva went public, and now he’s planning his great escape, starting with a cameo in ‘The Hangover 2,’ according to New York Post’s Page Six. He’ll reportedly be playing a tattoo artist.
“It’s a done deal,” a source told Page Six. “Filming is taking place on the Warner Bros. lot, where a Bangkok set has been built and Mel is expected to film his role in two weeks. Then the production moves to Thailand at the end of October.”The Hangover sequel catalogs yet another disastrous vacation for Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Zach Galifianakis, which this time takes the boys to Thailand. Fortunately for Gibson, he has some experience playing roles as weird body artists. Back in 1997, he played “Scott the Body Piercer” in a short scene in Father’s Day.”
Hang over is known for it’s diabolical dialogue – when in context of film – is perceived to be funny. When Mel does it in ‘real’ life, the same dialogue is not funny. So good casting. Incidentally, Thailand, was a shock celebrity rater location last year, when David Carradine choked, literally, himself to death. He ranked as one of the top celebrities of the year on this blog last year, as all of Asian flooded into celebrity bloggers websites for Carradine news. It was this blog’s biggest day. Who would have thought that ”Grasshopper greatness cross-cultural cross-over artists” had that much clout with an audince, but Carradine did. Blog stats don’t lie.
Ever since then, American celebrities (Lady Gaga being culprit #1) have been reinacting Carradine bondage scenes (yawn!) to get themselves famous in magazines–and the ‘Hangover 2′ hopes to pick up, where Carradine left off, by collecting his Asian market somehow.
The real draw of the Hangover, was a) a tiger in a hotel room bathroom, b) a baby) and c) an appearance of Asian Doctor from Kaiser Permanante, who turned actor, Ken Jeong doing a brilliant job starring as “the villain” in Vegas.
Hollywood is franchise addicted. The axiom – “If it aint broke don’t fix it, do another” is wisdom, yet from a creative stand point, new writers are frozen out the more sequels are churned out in this town. Add to that recession times (or post-recession as White House spin would love us to accept) very few studios are taking on new writers ideas.
You the people voted in 2009. Here’s the top ten Hollywood male stars that you selected to show the most promise to shine as celebrities you love and want to see more of for your entertainment heading into 2010. Two break out stars top this list. Democracy in action is alive and well in Hollywood. Thanks for voting.
10. Jermaine Jackson
9. Julian Lennon
8. Justin Gatson
7. Justin Timberlake
6. Brad Pitt
5. Salvador Dali
4. David Carradine
3. Michael Jackson
2. Taylor Lautner
1. Alex Meraz – Paul of Twilight’s New Moon wolf pack.
Summation: The top ten most popular men voted by you worldwide in Hollywood on Horiwood.Com reveal that Native American Indian actors making a comeback in Hollywood mainstream entertainment were the big story of the year.
Young men who would protect women at any cost against danger; who would also have a sense of brotherhood and values of team; had supernatural power to turn into someone else and…. who would take their shirts off to entertain audiences of teens and housewives moms worldwide … were also what Alex Meraz and Taylor Lautner did really well this year to make them the #1 and #2 most interesting male stars in Hollywood heading into 2010.
Stephenie Meyer and Kristen Stewart also share in their honors today, helping co-create and star with these young Hollywood superstars. Theirs is a story of great casting, but having the talent, determination and doing the graft to deliver the goods when the opportunity called. A great effort.
Three dead artists also made the list.
Brad Pitt‘s King of Hollywood romance and super dad title got him through, Jermaine Jackson‘s ability to inspire hope for his family and their fanbase in a time of global grief inspired us all; and the son of a Beatle‘s return to music along with a break out superstar from the UK in Robert Pattinson and his ability to portray a love story, rounds out the top ten men of Hollywood this year.
As three of these stars are no longer with us, Michael Jackson’s two sons rank next, but for their childhood’s sake and their privacy… these three men are the next top stars that you voted as your entertainers this year.
11. Kanye West: his controversial ego as well as his art brought him home this year. He is the only celebrity who the President called a “jack ass” off the record this year. He’s a consummate showman and a ‘bad boy of hip hop’ we love.
12. Keith Lewis for his controversial handling of the Carrie Prejean debacle with the Miss California Miss USA Pageant for Donald Trump, that entertained us all by revealing hypocrisy in most of us in 2009 from a beauty pageant podium. Lewis proved to be a clever producer of entertainment, asking the world the question… what is right, just and humane when it comes to ‘The Truth?’
13. Sir Richard Branson because he’s innovative, a fearless and creative billionaire who still wants to ride around with a naked supermodel on his back while kite skiing. Ridiculous!!! But Branson knows how to get his press and promote his air travel ventures with a sense of leisurely show biz magnitude. He’s still an entertaining actor today.

David Carradine‘s love for martial arts cast him the 70s hit TV Show, Kung Fu and also in Quentin Tarrantino‘s Kill Bill twin films. This gave him a fan base that reached far beyond American shores.
When Carradine, at 72 was found dead asphyxiated from an alleged sex romp in a Bangkok hotel this year on June 4th, the internet went abuzz as to who this man was.
One post on Horiwood.Com garnered 60,000 hits in 3 days. Not even the late Michael Jackson had star draw in one blog post as great as David had. He made us look at American men in their 70s and think… WTF! :)
No matter what we think of David Carradine and how he died, this 72 year old had star power. He rates the 16th most influential star on Horiwood.Com of 2009 here in Hollywood.

Although the actor, David Carradine, who played Bill in Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill double films project is dead, when asked by the Italian media whether he would ever make Kill Bill III, the director said “Si.”
Who would Quentin Tarantino recast Bill as? And is Uma Thurman up for reprising her action kung fu role as The Bride? Would Thurman want to reprise the role without Carradine?
Take some rope, plenty of black PVC fashion outfits, a kindergarten kid’s paint palate, a truckload of peroxide. Pour all of these ingredients onto a Catholic schooled, New York Italian, classically trained female, pianist singer, songwriter…. then add a camera, and what do you get, a Mess in Japan!
Stefani Germanotta, the artist known as Lady Gaga, has just combined all of these elements with her larger than life pop persona to deliver to Vogue Hommes Japan Magazine’s fashion savvy audience (the men of Japan) what Lady Gaga believes that they want to see. Lady Gaga believes that the men of Japan want to see the female version of the late Hollywood actor David Carradine’s death in Thailand, reinacted for them in Japan.
Again, it’s a mess in Japan.
But two things hold true, the editor of Vogue Homme Japan believes that Japanese men want to see this concept and Lady Gaga has been cast in this light for their magazine audience. Also, on this blog, horiwood.com, David Carradine‘s death news has garnered 80,000 hits, for one post on Carradine alone. Media savvy Lady Gaga, who lives life in the fame game by the amount of google search trends and results, obviously is giving the Asian world, what the Japanese and other Asian nations have been searching for online, of American Entertainment news.
Even though this is a mess in Japan, Lady Gaga is very smart at knowing what’s rating on the internet in Asian cultures. So, despite whether we judge her or not, for these pictures, she is increasing her audience loyalty to her in Japan and throughout Asia by giving the Japanese what they want to see. An America pop Geisha whose restrained. It provides the viewer and the reader with a sense of power, over an American woman. It makes the Japanese man feel privvy to a sense of cultural imperialism over America.
Again, it’s a mess in Japan. The only person winning with this representation, is Lady Gaga. She has already flirted with a near death experience, when an actor in her music video for her song, Paparazzi threw her off a balcony, and her character in the music video fell to the crowd almost dead, but then had to recover from the many injuries she sustained (a metaphor for the collapse of the global economy). But yeah, she’s done this theme already before, she needs a new one! Asap!!!
Her vision of achieving her ambition of global domination in pop music (Madonna styles) and furthering her appeal into Asian markets are these consequent photos.
Well, at least she is perceptive. But when all of the hooplah is stripped away, it’s still a little bit messy. It’s like Memoirs of a Gaga Geisha meets a cowboy’s rope from Texas that’s finished by art time at a kindergarten in New Jersey.
Where did the Manhattan go from this girl? Again, I kid.
Is this art we ask? (more…)
Lady Gaga is so David Carradine at her press conference in Malta in this video footage… and it’s just so wrong.
Someone needs to explain to Stefani Germanotta the difference between ADHD and ART. At this point in the needy pop tart’s career, she doesn’t seen to get the difference yet. She uses the word ‘Art’ too casually to explain her need for attention.
I prefer to look at her with Trace Cyrus and Metro Station below… becasue then she looks like… it’s not all about her, it’s about TEAM, other music peers and she shows that her ADHD, can actually play with others. :)
According to the medical examiner, who was the head honcho in a private autopsy of actor David Carradine’s boy, the Hollywood actor died of asphyxiation.
The examiner ruled out suicide being the way he died. To read more, go here.
Um… even me, a member of the general public could have guessed that. I guess they are still working on the case.

David Carradine’s third wife, Gail Jensen who has openly spoken out about Carradine’s fetish for bondage, told Entertainment tonight, that she believes a decades old grudge that David Carradine had with “some people” is to blame for his death.
She believes David got in touch with “the wrong people” who then set him up to meet “the wrong woman.”
What should we believe? It’s certainly time for a further investigation to begin!
