I remember living in New Zealand and going to see Bruce Springsteen live in concert.
The venue was the Speedway Track and Bruce got every petrol head singing I’m on Fire into the night air, like it was a Billy Graham Revival Meeting in the middle of a dirt track.
The crowd he sung too weren’t Born in The USA, but that didn’t matter, it was the fact that someone was proud of their own country and was also a global citizen that you felt resonating in Brucie’s music that inspired the crowd.
His material on 9-11 was so compelling. It hit the right tone, of America having to rebuild after such a tragedy. Ironically, Springsteen’s tone for dealing with and having to rebuild America after the devastation of The World Trade Center’s twin towers tragedy, was prophetic for having to rebuild the American economy in the age of Barack Obama.
It’s Bruce Springsteen’s prophetic backwood’s gospel, meets New Jersey, working-class rhetoric and harmonics, that make him still The Boss to me of music.
Danica Patrick reveals that beneath her racing car driver’s jump suit, is a hot bikini body too on the cover of Shape Magazine. Here in Hollywood here’s 10 hot entertainment and celebrity news posts right now:
He’s ranked in between Barack Obama and Brian Grazer/Ron Howard, coming in this year as the 50th most powerful celebrity for 2009! Wahoo, nice job!
Rapper 50 Cent is coming out with a new fragrance, called Power. Why should we believe that Fifty Cent is powerful enough to offer us his version of spray on power?
Here’s why: “Last year’s highest-earning hip-hop star has seen annual pay fall from $150 million to $20 million. Reason: Last year, he brought in a one-time, $100 million windfall after VitaminWater’s parent, Glacéau, was bought by Coca-Cola for $4.1 billion. His steep drop in earnings makes him look like a crashing bank stock, but the Queens-born rapper might survive future stress tests better than most. His portfolio also includes the popular G-Unit clothing line and record label, plus films, videogames and a slew of platinum albums. His fourth album, Before I Self Destruct , is set for release later this year.”
And there you have it. If he was truly powerful, 50 Cent would think of the little people and offer small bottles of his fragrance… for… 50 cents (of course), as a brilliant marketing idea of the fragrance. All proceeds of the 50 cent costed editions of Power, could go to a development fund that discovers new rapper kids for entertainment. Let’s wurq Fiddy! :) Hollar, from Horiwood.Com!
The Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston love triangle, continues to be the staple this week, for top rating tabloid magazine covers. You just know that this game is just all about Bradley Pitt! See these four posts:
The tragedy behind David Carradine’s shocking death is also getting a top spot in the American consciousness.
Thank goodness for Brad and Angie, knocking Kate Gosselin off the main spot of the covers. Now when I go to Ralphs to buy my Top Ramon, I won’t have to see Kate Gosselin’s bikini body so much! lol.
Hallelujah! :) [cover awards]
Beyonce Knowles knows how to play her cards close to her chest and very smartly. She also just works, and works and works.
She’s the 4th most powerful celebrity in the world and comes in this year at #4 behind, Angelina Jolie, Oprah and Madonna.
Here’s why Forbes Magazine picked Beyonce: “In the last year, Queen B dropped a double album, starred in two films, performed at both the Oscars and a Presidential Inaugural Ball and embarked on what is expected to be, at minimum, a 110-date international tour. She also expanded a fashion collection that includes casual and formal lines as well as jewelry and eyeglasses, and added sponsors Nintendo, Crystal Geyser and General Mills to a roster of endorsers already including L’Oréal, Giorgio Armani and Samantha Thavasa handbags.”
This vintage pic of TV and Media personality, Ryan Seacrest, doesn’t necessarily make Ryan stand out from the pack at first glance, when Seacrest was once a college freshman.
However, although Seacrest is still snubbed by the #1 celebrity at the top of the class, Ms. Angelina Jolie. Angie has walked past Seacrest on the red carpet at the Oscars for two years running now; the world’s most famous humanitarian actress can perhaps be forgiven for not knowing who he actually is! With six children, and being a working mom, Angelina doesn’t watch TV much.
This one entertainment fact, still does not detract from Seacrest’s rising star power this year.
He’s on The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien tonight, and he’s well worthy of his media platform. It should be a great interview, make sure you watch it. Here’s Ryan’s tweet while waiting for the show’s taping: “in dressing room at conan show. the toilet water is blue.” Riveting stuff Ryan! Anyway,
Barack Obama’s speech to the Middle East; Angelina Jolie’s Rally for an Intervention in Durfar, and Twilight and New Moon’s fan base’s generosity to give to refugees in crises got our attention in Hollywood today on Horiwood.Com.
Well done generous people!
You totally inspire hope!

Joining the girls, (Angelina Jolie, The Incomparable Oprah Winfrey, Madonna and Beyonce) is Mr Tiger Woods. After these four ladies of entertainment, Tiger is the top ranking male celebrity and athlete in the world, according to Forbes magazines Celebrity Top 100 List.
This is rather a remarkable feat, seeing Woods was largely out of the spotlight over the past year recovering from a torn ligament in his left knee giving other male celebrities a chance to lift their A game in the star system and in the golfing world too.
The injury cost Woods over $3million in overseas appearance fees, but he put his creativity to good use. Tiger Woods began to design (more…)
For New York Yankees superstar, the baseball green is what he calls “the office.” Now, after a brief fling with Madonna, the star whose dating Goldie Hawn’s daughter Kate Hudson is cast upon the sea of love again.
I was totally mystified why Kate Hudson, daughter of Goldie Hawn, is so into Alex Rodriguez (A-Rod) and has been seen pursuing him everywhere like there’s no tomorrow.
Reports state that Kate Hudson’s passion for A-Rod has her as the head cheer leader of his baseball-loving A Game club. While A-Rod was in Cleveland playing the Indians Monday night, the blond beauty popped into Bar 108 on West Houston Street to catch the game. “Kate was watching A-Rod bat,” says a source. “She only stayed for one inning but was cheering the whole time.” Tuesday night she watched from the stands at Yankee Stadium.
After discovering that Madonna came in at #3, on the Forbes Top 100 Celebrities list this year behind Angelina Jolie and Oprah, it makes sense now why Kate Hudson thinks Madonna’s ex is a good catch. She’s hoping A-Rod will keep her star power on the rise too.
LA Times has the best feature today on how Amazing Kobe Bryant is. Kobe Bryant, 30, whose Lakers begin the NBA Finals against Orlando tonight, has played in 1,118 NBA games. When Michael Jordan was the same age, he had played in 340 fewer games with the Chicago Bulls. Is Kobe, bigger and better than Michael Jordan’s legendary basketball legacy, if this is the case?
Meanwhile not only is Bryant on par to lead the LA Lakers into the NBA final, but he’s also managed to get himself onto the Top 10 Most powerful celebrities in the world list, this year. (more…)
The Angelina Brad + Jenn love triangle has helped to create 3 of the most influential celebrities in the world in 2009, that Horiwood.Com has dubbed The Year of The Love Triangle. Let’s take a look at why Jennifer Aniston is #8 on Forbes Top 100 List this year:
Jennifer Aniston: “Five years after Friends went off the air, fans still love to see Aniston in romantic comedies. This year’s Marley & Me and He’s Just Not That Into You helped the actress earn $25 million. Keeping her name in print: an on-again, off-again romance with singer-songwriter John Mayer.”
My thoughts regarding Jenn are always mixed. I love her because she’s a Greek-America and she represents! I also think (more…)
