CLEAN DRINKING WATER FOR ALL

1 Fact: 1 billion people do not have clean drinking water. Where: Africa and India are most affected.

The threat: More people are lost in the world through this situation than war.

The solution: We can make a difference through UNICEF Tap Project. If you want to, please do.

True fact 2: For as little as $10, one person can have clean drinking water for a lifetime.

That’s like a beer at a Hollywood club with the tip. Amazing aye! Act. Bump this post on too. Let’s flow. :)

RITA WILSON WILL CAMEO ON THE GOOD WIFE IN A “SOCIAL NETWORK FILM” INSPIRED ROLE

Rita Wilson is known in Hollywood for being such “a good wife.” Therefore it comes as no surprise to her fans that Rita is going to make a cameo on the show, The Good Wife. However, Rita does not want to play a good wife in the show. She wants to play a high powered lawyer.

According to EW, Rita and F. Murray Abraham will guest star on an episode that was inspired by The Social Network and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg.

“The episode focuses on a junior genius who launched a successful website that prompts a big movie about his life. He ends up suing the producers for defamation, however, because he’s not happy with the results.” Wilson will star as Viola, an overly botoxed top-of-her field lawyer, and a friend of Diane’s (Christine Baranski), who helps her with the case. On the other side, Abraham will take on the role of Burl, “the head attorney at a film conglomerate,” that represents the studio in the case.

Sounds very ‘Hollywood producer-y’ to me. Let’s hope the little people can relate to it. Is Rita planning on producing movies real soon? Perhaps she is.

REESE WITHERSPOON IN LIKE WATER FOR ELEPHANTS HEATS UP ROBERT PATTINSON’S FIRST OSCAR NOMINATIONS HOPES

Reese Witherspoon and Robert Pattinson start their movie publicity for Water for Elephants via Germany of all places. It is the nation with the strongest dollar in the world right now, so maybe that’s a smart move on the Hollywood chess board.

They look good together. Cougar chemistry from Reesey.

Water for Elephants is the film based on the book, of when a veterinary student joins the circus and undergoes an internship of the heart while a locum.  Surreal setting, like a Britney Spears concert with the potential to make $200 million plus. Spears has already proven a circus theme sells tickets.

Will this be Pattinson’s first Oscar nominated role? With a royal wedding from the UK about to be the most watched event on the planet this decade next year, for Pattinson, this has to be his debut Oscar nominated performance. It has to be Robbo’s Oscar momento, simply because the global pop cultural landscape–would have moved slightly more the UK’s way after Will and Kate’s wedding. To not include Pattinson in an Oscar line up of leading lads following next year–will make the Oscars look irrelevant.

Nice of Reese to help Pattinson out with her proven Oscar glow. No stars are born stars alone, they are made as well. This pairing is one such example. Britain and the American South–not a bad combo! With elephants from Africa and India, I wonder if there will be Russian Smokey The Bears too in this circus movie or White Chinese water tigers as well. Expect this to be a cinematic zoo of color and show biz lights underneath a big top circus tent. Two A-Listed trapeze stars, on top of the world – who walk the line. Hot.

Here’s wishing Michael Douglas a better year in 2011. Leslie Nielsen‘s life and career is remembered too.

SMILING MAORI YOUNG PEOPLE PERFORMING LIVE ARE SO VIBRANT

There’s just something about Maori young people singing and performing live in the poetic language of Te Reo Rangatira (the Language of Chiefs) with beautiful smiles that reminds you, these young leaders are from a very vibrant culture.

Love them! Can’t get enough of their visage and unbridled talents on display in Hollywood. Beautiful.

Oh and if you’re reading this post from Hollywood–no this really is not “lost footage from the director’s cut of Dances with Wolves–young people really perform like this every day in places like Waitangi or Roto-Vegas/ Rotorua or many other beautiful cities too. One of my favorite spots in seeing Maori perform is at the Tuhoe tribe’s Te Hui Ahurei o Tūhoe Festval. These young people are the best and they speak the language as their first language each day.

They’re also cinematic. Their first movie is in development. It’s humorously titled: Hambones at the Pork Bone Puha Hotel. Now this is THE movie for any A-List Hollywood actor to do a cameo in. It’s going to be both funny & fab!

They’re so authentic and beautiful in performance. The kids of Ngai Tuhoe also are amazing artists and their artworks (paintings) are so special. Deep. Meaningful. I purchased one, last time I was in attendance at this event.

If you must have your fix, of seeing Maori appear and perform live, finding out more about these two cities, is a good start when planning your global travel entertainment.

Culturally vibrant travel–is always adventurous and enriching to one’s worldview. You know it. Cheers!

Maori young people also add a lot to America’s diverse tourism industry, especially in Hawaii, President Obama‘s home state–all year round. Go here to check these Maori kids, who help America out. They’re such good selfless young people. Amazing!!! I love them.

SID LIUFAU COMMENTS ON POLYNESIAN ACTORS IN HOLLYWOOD FILMS

This comment was left by brotha Sid Liufau today on the blog. Well worth sharing are his thoughts on Polynesia actors in Hollywood. Sid writes:

“Polynesians, understanding starring roles in any film capacity are hard to come by and as a proud Polynesian who knows all to well the harsh competition not only as a minority, but minority of minorities in the profession not to mention lead roles not sought by a minority which even lessens our chances.

But as a confident Polynesian actor, don’t underestimate our Polynesian natural talents that can’t be denied. Learning the profession soon we can tell our own Island stories someday professionaly that can be universally understood.

We just need to be in the position to be taken serious!”

Me: Word! Sic currently stars with Dwayne Johnson in Faster at the box office this weekend. Go see him.

JESSICA SZOHR ON PLAYING A MESSED UP BROOKLYN ARTIST

Who: Jessica Szhor

Original claim to fame: Being cast in Gossip Girl

Now doing: Cover girl work, as depicted here for Savvy Magazine: the best of beauty, style and pop culture. Jessica is also landing lead roles in feature films, like Art Machine.

On her part in the film: “I play this artist who kind of had a messed up background and she expresses emotions in her art. It’s really cool. I’m filming all over Brooklyn.”

It’s always groovy to see young people evolve. Go kid!

New York Magazine’s ‘Industry News Round Up’ sheds more light on Art Machine‘s key players, noting: “Machine’s Young GunsJoseph Cross (MilkRunning With Scissors) and Jessica Szohr(Gossip Girl) are starring in the indie film Art Machine, which Doug Kerr is directing and currently shooting in New York. Cross plays “a child-prodigy painter on the verge of turning 18 who is suffering from bipolar disorder and needs to come up with an art show to end all art shows.” Szohr plays one of the “outlaw hipsters” Cross meets, “a pyrotechnic artist who is attracted to the prodigy, but as his manic madness grows, she becomes concerned for his safety.” Joey Lauren Adams (Big DaddyChasing Amy) plays Cross’s mom.

Cute. Sounds like a good young artsy screwball film then. Angst fused with art as ‘conflict being the essence of drama’ in an Aristotlean way, is bound to find its audience.

CHRISTIAN BALE WILL PLAY THE DARK KNIGHT, BATMAN, ONE LAST TIME

He’s done two films already in the bat suit, and he thinks the upcoming third Dark Knight film could be his last as the caped super hero.

Says actor Christian Bale to E! Online, ”The thing is that this will be, I believe, unless Chris [Nolan] says different, this will be the last time I’m playing Batman.”

The last film, The Dark Knight was pretty amazing, let’s see if Nolan wants to make more Batman films after this third one with Bale.

STEVEN SPIELBERG WELCOMES DANIEL DAY LEWIS PLAYING ABE LINCOLN

Liam Neeson‘s much publicized reteaming with Hollywood great Steven Spielberg for the Abraham Lincoln biopic was something we all wanted to see.

However, Neeson dropped out of the film a little while back.

Spielberg than approached Daniel Day Lewis to fill the shoes to play the role of the legendary American President. Day Lewis accepted the role.

Here’s what Spielberg has to say on the matter: “Daniel Day-Lewis would have always been counted as one of the greatest of actors, were he from the silent era, the golden age of film or even some time in cinema’s distant future. I am grateful and inspired that our paths will finally cross with Lincoln,” said Steven Spielberg.  “Throughout his career, he has been exceptionally selective in his choice of material,” added Stacey Snider, “which makes us feel even more fortunate that he has chosen to join with us for Lincoln.”

Based on the best-selling book, Team of Rivals, by Pulitzer Prize-winning historian Doris Kearns Goodwin, the screenplay has been written by the Pulitzer Prize winner, Tony Award winner, and Academy Award nominated writer Tony Kushner.’

This film has Oscars written all over it.

OSCAR WINNER’S GLEE: GWYNETH PALTROW SINGS CEE-LO’S “FORGET YOU”

Hola! Gwyneth Paltrow is taking over Glee with a rendition of Cee-Lo Green’s Forget You song.

She sounds very early New Edition actually in this version, with an early Jackson 5 catchy jangly beat and tune. So American!

Then again with Gwyneth’s outro to the song, “Let’s go get some tacos” – she’s beyond American, she’s both early California and New Mexico and Cali-America now. Lol!

Oscars goes high school for a bit of fun. Press play for a laugh.

And for the full lyrics of the song, that give the jingle its full context, go here. And because Gwynnie’s outro directs America to follow the golden brown Hispanic-American trail (the people with the deciding vote now in America)–and she’s made me laugh five times now–try watching the ending of this clip too a few times for chuckles. Too true and too funny! With the jangle of change in our pockets, least we forget our Americano gratitude status, Tacos R US! Yes!!!

Go girl! That outro is good writing. Needless to say, Glee really does need to cast some real Latino and Latina teens about now. I don’t get it, there’s like about 2,000 who go clubbing at CircusDisco in Hollywood every weekend. It’s not like there’s a shortage to choose from for Glee’s updated casting needs here in Cali, where Glee is filmed every week. Why hide them?

On that note, let’s go get some hangi and some palusami too and maybe even some sausages from Pak ‘nSave and fire up the whanau BBQ as well!

UP! Let’s go groovy people of the world. If you’re from: East Los Angeles/ Santa Ana/ El Monte and Oxnard of California or Laredo/ Brownsville/McAllen/ El Paso of Texas, or Hialeah and Miami of Florida…Smile… chances are I’m talking to you. :)

IMAGINATIVE SAM KIRBY, A READER AND MATHEMATICIAN OF CHRISTCHURCH WANTS TO BE THE MILKYBAR KID 2010′s

The future looks like Sam Kirby on Wood: Like those who dream with milky rich imagination (in 3D full cream of Cinematic mastery), New Zealand Kids are Milkybar Kids, still.

If you know anything about New Zealand, you will know that we have the creamiest, whitest chocolate in the world. If you knew this growing up in New Zealand, perhaps you too once wanted to be, The Milkybar Kid. On that note:

Meet Sam Kirby. He’s 7 years-old and has dreams of being a chocolate loving cowboy, who rounds up “baddies” and dishes out milky creamy white chocolate to all of his friends.

Sounds like a good concept for a political party to me. Go Sam!

On the Nestle Milkybar Kids website for TVC auditions, here’s what’s posted about Sam Kirby: “Sam enjoys reading and maths at school. He’s a fun and creative kid with a big imagination who loves dressing up and performing for his family.

Sam’s interests are: Space, dinosaurs, swimming, soccer, musical theater and the piano.

Sam’s audition can be seen here, along with the original trailer of The Lone Ranger. Why the Lone Ranger, was even called that is a mystery. He always had a faithful Native American Indian mate in Jay Silverfoot (who was really Canadian, but this is America!), a famous white horse named Silver and a whole cast of extras. Some with teeth others without.

But back to Sam. Vote Master Kirby here. For fun family travels, do visit Sam’s city known as The Garden City, that incidentally is one of the best City’s in the world to bring up children. The City also raises Rugby football world champions and fine singers and artists. Good soccer players is what Sam is furthering in Christchruch for diversity. Cool.

These kids are talented and tough. Christchurch is a City with a community strength of spirit second to none in the World, even when tested under pressure, their spirit as a City bonded tightly together is something that makes you observe with a sense of respect and pride.  Even if the world was to crash and fall around them, Christchurch City people roll tight together and … They’re unbreakable. The world loves Christchurch City for their spirit and global purpose. They certainly inspire me from Hollywood always.

Go here to Christchurch City‘s website. Sam’s auditon is well worth a watch just to hear this future leader say: “The Milkybars on me.” Bring it on Sam! Go laddie. When I was 7, I was singing on the tail end of a group with my older siblings for crowds of up to 400 people a sitting. Kiwi kids entertain from a young age. It’s normal in Kiwiland to perform and turn out a show as Sam Kirby exemplifies today, from Hollywood on this blog- Entertainment Capitol of The World.

BANGKOK-BORN NATALIE OLSON WANTS TO BE A TV COWGIRL AS THE NEXT MILKY BAR KID

So far on Horiwood.Com, we’ve looked at two kids who want to be cowgirls on TV from New Zealand, as the next Milky Bar Kid (The MBK is a Kiwi kids hero for the last 5 decades, who headed a white chocolate gang). I grew up, thinking I was the milky bar kid, like every other Kiwi kid. He had chocolate to give away, this made him popular.

A sure wrangler of a TV ad, to create a cultural hero. By a long range shot, the MBK, was that hero.

From Wellington today, comes this news that Bangkok-born Natalie Olson says that the Milkybars are on her, if she gets the TV gig to be the MBK.

The eight-year-old won overnight hero status among her peers at Lyall Bay School on the day she was announced as the fourth finalist to become the next Milkybar Kid. Her stage name when acting is “Nat.”

Half-Thai, half-Kiwi, Natalie moved to green paradise from Bangkok to New Zealand with her private investigator father Warren finding labor (employment) in New Zealand when she was two. She is not a newbie to the thespian world, with bit parts in short films and commercials already under her toy gun slinging belt.

Thanks to Natalie’s mother, Nat started drama school at four and was signed up with a model and talent agency the same year. She’s so Hollywood.

“The boys have had their turn [in the role of the Milky Bar Kid]. It’s the girls’ turn.”

But judge and casting director Suzanne McAleer said the Milkybar Kid for 2011 could break with the 51-year-old tradition.

“There’s no preconceived idea of what the next Milkybar Kid is going to look like. We’re just looking for a vibrant, engaging child with star quality.”

The original Milky Bar kid, who wore spectacles, looked like Oscar winning special effects man, Sir Richard Taylor as a kid. This is a fiercely contested role. Good luck young Natalie.

All finalists and their audition videos will be on www.milkybar.co.nz for public voting.

Original Interview: Tanya Kattens for The Dominion Post.

“MAORI”-RUSSIAN ART AS A TALKING POINT ON MAORI REPRESENTATION IN THE FUTURE OF 3D ACTION MOVIES CINEMA

Cute are these Wahine Maori “stacking dolls” via this website.

The visual: “Maoriland” goes to Russia. Living in a Jewish-Russian neighborhood (Little Russia) of West Hollywood, California…

I’m totally feeling these cross-cultural art-on-wood numbers, due to my daily cross-cultural neighborhood reference.

To buy a set go here. Cute.

Outside of stereotyping Maori as icons, set in art, there’s a lot to work forward in how portraits and pictures of strong and intelligently nuanced Maori women should be getting told today in the Arts and via media.

Therefore these ‘cute’ stacking dolls are perhaps a good starting point to talk about when Maori women, will act in 3D action films with Russia themed story lines, in 3D.

Why not? Imagine that! :)

JACKSON ESTATE SYMBOLS via MISS JANET for HER BROTHER’S GIFTS TO ENTERTAIN

Alrighty, I am still obsessing on the fact that Michael Jackson as a brand to entertain, still rocks on, because his architecture as an entertaining King, has a life force of it’s own–with or without him.

That’s nuts. For a fragile dude, he sure built a solid kingdom of entertainment to model. Look at this stuff fly. It’s the real deal of a King. Dance is celebrated in these images of art and performance. Monarch butterflies and Doves feature too.

These are the symbols that Jackson’s children and Miss Janet Jackson – MJ’s sister, are presenting to his fans and the world.

There is no more successful American who proved they could cross over and appeal to India, like Michael Jackson. He “lived beyond color lines, geographical borders and boundaries” to paraphrase his sister’s Rhythm Nation lyrics.

He was cross-cultural, all people he saw as being the same. As a culture maker, and America’s King of Pop he saw his role as creating symbology for his fans, so that they could have  a sense of global culture that resonated with them all.

Seriously though, as New Zealand is the nation that creates Jackson-Taylor Monarchs in 3D  in the 2010′s of cinema mastery –we perhaps need a ‘royal cinematic meeting of entertainment minds’ with one of MJ’s kids or his nieces or nephews (we’re not fussy), to star in our Hobbit films, to cement that point. What a cool idea.

Let me play ‘stand in’ Hollywood casting agent on this one…  We’ll go for Blanket Jackson thanks, as a Hobbit prince of Latino descent. :)Having seen both Michael and Janet Jackson both perform live in concert in Auckland at Mt Smart Stadium, New Zealand with friend, Trinity Brooke, I think Blanket would rock, following in the footsteps of the family, in a Hobbit film shot in 3D and Middle Earth. Imagine that! A real Jackson Hobbit too. Perfect!

Enjoy these images, from Blanket’s Estates’ one page ad in the LA Times today. A paper that services a city and associated cities of 20 million people.

MEET KALANI JONES, A SAMOAN-KIWI STAR OF AUCKLAND THE SUPERCITY

Kalani Jones (L) of Auckland – The Supercity poses with Lani.

The Samoan-Kiwi hottie looks like her late grandmother, Aunty Maina Werne-Jones - a lady who died in Kenya while on safari, and who had the distinction of having the second most-attended funeral in New Zealand history in 1997 of a Kiwi not born in the green paradise nation. As a woman of Samoa with Mana in The South Pacific, Maina Werne-Jones was down to earth, heavenly-minded, loving and much loved.

Aunty Maina as she was affectionately known, is still sorely missed by Auckland City, Samoa and throughout The Pacific today. Her laugh was magic. She laughed a lot, always sharing her smile and joie de vie with a rare gift of joyful encouragement.

Kalani also looks like her gorgeous momma, Judi Jones. Kalani’s dad, Derek Jones can be found here with Judi, doing their bit providing Samoan-Kiwi flava and inspiration at a transitional time for Porirua City leadership in Wellywood – Hollywood’s sister-city for 3D film making expertise.

Porirua is currently in the middle of a surprise bi-election, as the US Secretary of State Hilary Rodham Clinton has just recently touched down in Wellywood, a film making nation’s capitol city, at the time of writing from Hollywood. There’s a lot going on in New Zealand right now. It’s a hot diverse entertainment nation, destination.

At the top, of the North Island of New Zealand, Kalani lives in Auckland, The Supercity of this beautiful paradise-green nation.

To see Auckland – the City of Kalani Jones and the largest Polynesian and Maori Gateway city in the World (Aloha O’ahu Hawaii of America), GO HERE.

Right now on Facebook: Kalani took the Which Kardashian Are You? quiz and is most like Kim: The analysis,  “You’re ambitious, fashion-forward and a true (if sometimes tumultuous) romantic. You’d opt to work on your business plans over your party plans, even if friends say that’s boring. But hey, you always look good doing it–just like Kim!”
.
If you live in Hollywood and follow Herman-Town’s Young Hollywood promotions expertise, you will know that Ms Kim Kardashian is styling and dressing America’s style conscious twenty-somethings, right now, here in the USA. Nationwide in the USA, Kim is currently doing this online 24 hours a day, with a skillful style package that consults and customizes fashion accessories to each individual customer. Smart.
.
Kim Kardashian is perhaps the only A-Listed reality TV Star in Hollywood, who is also a fashion merchandising mogul on the rise. If Kalani is like Kim Kardashian, I’m all for that. The world needs a Samoan-Kiwi style-queen I reckon. Especially one of Spirit — like Kalani Jones possesses, naturally. Check out Kim’s online biz ventures with Hollywood entertainment power-lawyer Robert Shapiro –at Shoe Dazzle. Amazin! They’re taking over stylish retail for the young in America–via their online storefront window instead. It’s a Kardashian underground movement of taste and style blitzing the USA.
.
Kalani Jones is rugby royalty of New Zealand, Samoa and the Commonwealth Affiliated Nations and Oceania Nations of the World. She is the niece of a rugby player who England’s Will Carling listed in the UK Telegraph as being the no.2 rugby footballer in the world of all time. Kalani’s father Derek, is also a good rugby footballer too.
.
As a future rising star of New Zealand & The South Pacific – Kalani Jones has got it all going on in her star mix and this kid loves God too. Not a bad combo for grounded balance to balance out the craziness of fame that lies ahead of her, I reckon. Go kid! If ever there was a girl in New Zealand worthy of a reality TV series of her own, to weave in a stellar cast of characters who surround her in everyday life, Kalani Jones is one such star of great potential to lead, entertain, inspire her generation. Oh… btw:
.
Visit Auckland City for a fun travel experience.

SAMYAH POWELL OF NORTH AUCKLAND WANTS TO BE THE MILKY BAR KID

[Photo caption: YEEHAH, IT'S SAMYAH: Samyah Powell, 9, is hoping to get the role of the Milky Bar Kid all tied up but in the meantime she's trying out the ropes on Whangarei Primary School principal Rob Soar].

Meet Samyah Powell. As mentioned, this kid wants to be the new Milky Bar Kid repping New Zealand’s luxurious white chocolate made from milk of the best dairy cows in the world. TV commercials are what’s up for grabs for chocolate manufacturer Nestle if Samyah lands the spot.

Powell is one of ten children short listed for the role and the only one North of Auckland. She’s representing good farming muster country in the far north.

Reports The Northern Advocate: “The Whangarei Primary School pupil loves reading and maths and is top of the class. Her flair for performance has been polished through hip-hop dancing and cheerleading in which she has competed internationally. Whether or not she becomes the newest Milky Bar Kid, this little star has already performed in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Melbourne, Sydney.”

Said Samyah, “It would be cool to be the Milky Bar Kid.”

What do you think? Should Samyah Powell of North Auckland, be the next Milky Bar kid?

Samyah does look a little like Justin Bieber in this pic anyway, so you never know. Here’s looking at you, kid.

HINETAAPORA SHORT IS A MILKY WHITE HOT STAR IN HOLLYWOOD TODAY

Have you checked out Hinetaapora Short yet. The ten year-old is showing fine early signs of being an emerging young Hollywood actor. She’s too cute.

Go here to see who Hinetaapora Short is, where she’s from and what she’s doing. Love this kid! She’s the hope of an emerging generation of talented young people in Aotearoa/ New Zealand–the nation of Hobbits, Maori and Polynesian kids that love to entertain.

She’s a Maori milky white Kiwi kid and we love her!!! Living in beautiful California, she makes me feel proud to be a 1/ 4,700,000th part of big hearted entertaining New Zealand. :)

NEW TALENT ALERT – MEET HINETAAPORA SHORT – THE GOLDEN, HOLLYWOOD MAORI, MILKY BAR KID!

“She has a young Reese Witherspoon look and fresh-faced appeal about her as a potential child-actor of the future in Hollywood”–Horiwood on Hinetaapora Short.

A Diverse View of Hollywood worthy new talent potential:

Should Hinetaaporo Short, 10, be cast as the next Milky Bar Kid!

One of this kid’s X-factors in the entertainment game already, is that Hinetaapora speaks Te Reo Rangatira – The Language of Chiefs - otherwise known as the Maori language of New Zealand) each day, at her Kura Kaupapa school in Roto-Vegas/ Rotorua, Hiobbit country.

Te Reo Rangatira is one of the two official languages that Middle Earth, New Zealand protects and speaks within its shores.

Should Hinetaapora be the Milky Bar Kid for chocolate makers Nestle? Heck yes! What a bilingual, intelligent and talented cutie pai. Adorable. The Milky Bar Kid is a New Zealand child’s ‘super hero’ figure of inspiring Adventure and fun adventuring activities with friends and community–the great Kiwi Way. Just like Hobbits represent such cultural heroes too. A Maori girl super hero? Heck yes! It’s time. What a splendid idea at updating Kiwi pop culture in the 2010′s.

Will Hinetaapora go on to appear in Hobbit in 3D films in Wellywood too and Hollywood? I hope so! She’s a doll.

Go honey! Mauri ‘Ola from Hollywood. Let’s hope Hinetaapora can sign on to the same Hollywood agent as Oscar nominee, Keisha Castle Hughes. My Hollywood agent recommend though for Hinetaapora’s Hollywood acting hopes, is agent: Steve Dontanville. –the agent behind Reese Witherspoon’s acting career in Reese’s initial early years until two years before Reese won her Oscar.

Imagine Hinetaapora Short in a 3D action adventure film? Could she be another Reese Witherspoon, with the potential to win an Oscar too? Only time will tell. But, go kotiro tutu! I love her chutzpah. This kid has spirit.  She’s off to a good start at ten years-of-age.

UPDATE: Hinetaapora Short is on the Nestle casting team’s Top Ten Short List at this minute. Go honey! You have Hollywood’s big tick approval. The gorgeous Hinetaapora short is a descendant of the Te Whanau a Hinetaaporo subtribe (Haapu) of Ngati Porou. She also descends from the Te Arawa iwi of Aotearoa/ New Zealand. The same tribe as famed and globally-loved entertainer, the late Sir Howard Morrison. The son of a Maori All Black rugby football star, Temuera Morrison , Sir Howard’s song My Old Man’s An All Black - combated and addressed apartheid in South Africa back in the day. He’s still a legend in hearts and minds today. Good Kiwi Ambassadors and proven entertainment stock are the performance artists of this tribe. They do the right things with their fame for noble humanitarian causes.

Hinetaapora’s Te Arawa tribe are watched by globe-trotting visitors to New Zealand, every day of the week in Rotorua City when they perform live daily as consummate and gifted entertainers. They star in musical theater showcases daily and have been practicing mau rakau (traditional Maori martial arts) for over a thousand years in New Zealand on Mokoia Island. As warriors in performance, they are New Zealand’s indigenous action stars. Very similar to Japanese samurai or Old-World warriors of the Chinese Empire dynasty too. Sir Howard, their much loved late Entertainer king, is pictured wearing his cowboy hat above.

Courage to imagine, see and be true to… yourself.

Message to H.S: Mihi atu ki a koe Hinetaapora… are you practicing your American accent and learning Chinese each morning for Hong Kong filmmaking, 3D action movie/ co-productions in future years, before school? Hope so! Ka rawe! Tino pai kē! Kid, you’re too much! :)

JOHN KEY SUBSTANTIATES WELLYWOOD AS HOBBITSVILLE 3D COUNTRY AND A SUPPORTIVE TWIN CITY OF HOLLYWOOD’S 3D CINEMA MASTERY AND GREEN FILM LOCATIONS

Prime Minister John Key (L) is no stranger at dealing with key leaders in key areas and markets of the world.

Quote of the Year: “It was commercial reality. We did the business.”–John Key on bending Hobbit Law, to Warner Brothers recognition, of Sir Peter Jackson and Sir Richard Taylor‘s skills and preference to film The Hobbit 3D film in New Zealand.

New Zealand’s number one man, John Key shines in Hollywood today, with the announcement that New Zealand will restructure law, and contribute monetarily to help facilitate Sir Peter Jackson directed, The Hobbit films 3D filming and production in Middle Earth. This sends a clear message to Bollywood, Hollywood, Europe and Asia, that New Zealand is 3D film production fit for the 2010′s and beyond. Middle Earth is also the home of James Cameron‘s Avatar‘s 3D effects, filming and creation.

Via New York Times, Mr Key says: “I’m delighted we have achieved this result. Making the two movies here will not only safeguard work for thousands of New Zealanders, but will also allow us to follow the success of the Lord of the Rings trilogy in once again promoting New Zealand on the world stage,” Mr. Key said. Video of speech can he found here.

“The industrial issues that have arisen in the past several weeks have highlighted a significant set of concerns for the way in which the international film industry operates here in New Zealand. We will be moving to ensure that New Zealand law in this area is settled to give film producers like Warner Brothers the confidence they need to produce their movies in New Zealand.

To structure the right deal to keep The Hobbit in New Zealand, new legislation is being introduced Thursday to clarify the difference between an employee and a contractor. The change in law would affect only the film industry.

Aotearoa/ New Zealand’s Prime Minister, Mr. Key said that the green paradise nation would offset $10 million of Warner’s marketing costs as the government agreed to a joint venture with the studio.

Mr Key also threw in an additional tax rebate for big budget films made in the country, making production companies now eligible for up to $7.5 million extra per picture–based on box office sales. New Zealand currently offers a 15 % rebate on money spent on major movies being produced within this paradise nation’s shores.

The UK Guardian reports that, had not Warner Bros and the New Zealand government come to an agreement, “Economists had said the loss of the production could cost the country’s film industry as much as $1.5bn and damage it in the long term.” Mr Keys also said via The Guardian, “”Making the movies here will not only safeguard work for thousands of New Zealanders.”" A much welcomed break for New Zealand’s economy struggling with one of the highest E.E.C debts, currently. The news was much welcomed.

Although it is not know if any Maori and Polynesian actors have been cast in the film in key roles to date, the Guardian reports: “The Office star Martin Freeman set to portray the title character, Bilbo Baggins – a homely Hobbit who in Tolkien’s tale is bamboozled into joining a thrilling adventure by a wizard named Gandalf. Richard Armitage, of BBC TV series Spooks, will play the role of Thorin Oakenshield, the leader of the dwarves.”

Good stuff. What a day for Hobbit lovers of Hobbitsville entertainment. And not a bad couple of days work either from Prime Minister Keys in his role of Minister of Tourism too. That deserves a beer or three in Hobbit fashion. Nice teamwork for the Prime Minister, Warner Bros, and our two Sirs who create Hobbits and a film industry working for and in tandem while reflecting back to Hollywood, from the other side of the world in New Zealand. Teamwork and mastery of a win-win relationship. Super heroes are being made in New Zealand in cinema texts and 3D cinema –for the world. Let’s go China and 3D action Chinese films in NZ.

This report gleaned from an original report penned byJohnathan Hutchinson, Michael Cieply and Colin Peacock. [Image above: Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao (R) meets with New Zealand's Prime Minister John Key at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing China's capitol, on July 7, 2010. Xinhua &Rao Aimin photo. New Zealand also grew diplomatic relations in Seoul Korea today, Michael Woodhouse Mp appears on day one in Seoul where he has toured Gyeonbok Palace. Does Korea have any 3 D films they may need made and told in Middle Earth too, one might ask? NZ is a busy Asian-Friendly and Hollywood friendly filmmaking nation. And on that note, let's go Bollywood in NZ locations, coming at ya in 3D cinema. Namaste! Haere Mai!]

THOUSANDS ATTEND A HOBBITS 3D FILMS CASTING AND ACTOR’S EQUITY RALLY IN WELLINGTON NEW ZEALAND

Sir Richard leads the charge as thousands assemble in New Zealand’s capitol of Middle Eearth, Wellington, Wellywood of Poneke today.

These key points depict the saga over casting of actors, and their working conditions and union terms, the purpose of this rally.

New Zealand Herald brings us the well structured bones of this report: Sir Peter Jackson is opposed to an Australian union seeking to intervene and thwart plans of The Hobbit to be filmed in New Zealand locations.

“Keep The Hobbit in New Zealand” rallies (lol!) taking place in Middle Earth, saw a statement being read out, asserting New Zealand’s independence with New Zealand guilds being equipped to sort actor’s conditions out.

In patriotic talk, that exemplifies Jackson’s body of work in cinema (watch the mocumentary drama Forgotten Silver where Jackson, rewrites Hollywood history and the development of celluloid and film, as if it all eventuated in New Zealand, to get my drift), Sir Peter says with pride:

“Intervention by Australian-based union Media, Entertainment & Arts Alliance (MEAA) risks tearing apart “the great big heart that beats inside all our films”.” Love it. Lol!

KEY 3D CINEMA PARADIGM SHIFT – CASTING MAORI AND POLYNESIAN TEENAGED ACTION STARS IN 3D, 2010′s

Hollywood, Calif– to [Hobbitsville, Middle Earth], Wellywood a Poneke today. A message on Wellywood casting.

One headline to grow the film industry globally: KEY 3D CINEMA PARADIGM SHIFT – MAORI AND POLYNESIAN TEENAGED ACTION STARS IN 3D, 2010′s

Why not?!

Image of Taylor Lautner of Hudsonville (Ottawa and Potawatomi Native American Indian tribes, descendant) 18, earns more than US$8 million a film in Hollywood. That’s not including his merchandising of his mixed American-indigenous image.

A Native [American Indian] teen in Hollywood. He has yet to appear in 3D cinema texts.

I present Taylor today as food for thought for Maori and Polynesian action stars, who are Hollywood worthy as entertainers also. Remembering that Maori have practiced Mau Rakau martial arts for centuries in Middle Earth, Aotearoa/ New Zealand. We have this history for 3D cinema’s authenticity as Art and Entertainment texts of Hollywood and Wellywood worthy cultural significance.

This thought being presented in Hollywood today for the land of Hobbits and their Oscar-holding creators and auteurs of Middle Earth to mull over. Namely Sir Peter Jackson and Sir Richard Taylor with casting lenses of wisdom and foresight worn in New Zealand, to grow existing and new talent and film markets from New Zealand shores showcasing all of New Zealand’s diverse potential in film growth to our economy. Courage to develop new Kiwi action stars, who have the potential to develop new action film genres that appeal to Asian markets.

Why can’t Polynesian and Maori Kiwi kids, be a vital part of Young Hollywood pop cultural texts, icons, symbols generation, and leadership too?
