“In a world full of despair, you must still dare to believe”–imagination: Michael Jackson, King of Pop.
Michael Jackson, earned $275 million posthumously for his estate. His star template for entertainment distribution and spin off merch – is still America’s star template all emulate.
GK Films are negotiating to develop a feature film around MJ’s Thriller.
Real Effects Entertainment are shopping the idea to studios. Kenny Ortega is attached to direct, and The Hangover scribe Jeremy Garelick to write the screenplay. That’s funny publicity already.
GK are driving the film pitch but Fox 2000, Mandate/Lionsgate and Summit Entertainment are bidding too. The film budget is expected to make $50 million.
The song’s folklore, involving Vincent Price and the town he grew up in–is the basis of the film’s narrative’s plot line.
Thriller songwriter Rod Temperton is up in this mix too. Meanwhile, Cirque du Soleil is in talks to do two live shows based on Jackson’s music.
Montecito partners Ivan Reitman and Tom Pollock are developing a film that focuses on MJ’s earlier years as The King of Pop. Peter Schlessel -head of GK films is leading producing efforts on this film idea.
While at Sony Pictures Entertainment, Schlessel made the deal for This Is It!, a big earner for SPE, and it is likely that GK Films will distribute Thriller through its SPE output deal. UTA reps Garelick and Reel Effects, while Paradigm reps Ortega.
My thoughts are – if MJ was using 3D film technology in his This is It! Tour visual arts armory — shouldn’t this film be shot in 3D, like the future of Bollywood film?
Distribution: If Hollywood wants a piece of India’s entertainment than this is a good idea. No other artist has been downloaded more times than MJ in India’s entertainment history of music sales. 24% of all songs in India downloaded are MJ songs. Really Summit Entertainment should bid big, as they are the leading ‘werewolf’/ wolf pack kids in Hollywood.
We live in an age of the 3D Jackson Estate still furthering entertainment models and distributon strategies for American Ent. I dig. Before Jackson died he was all about Thinking Green to save the earth’s enviroment – and he was doing this in 3D.

Beautiful and spirited, Carrie Underwood,is doing all sorts of un-country sounding things, to garner herself another big hit. Here’s the newlywed’s new single, titled Undo It, denoting that the power of a good romance, will get you everywhere. In wartime especially, the world needs Love. The song rose to #10 on Billboard’s Country Music Charts, giving Carrie her tenth #1 hit song. Wow!
In California news, here’s our favorite tennis playing author, Robert Ellis, ex West Coast editor of Ebony Magazine before tennis today with a good romance story, that has a powerful message, in the form of his new novel, Courage to Love. The book is all the rage on the cover of the Beverly Hills Courier Newspaper. Bob has the best sense of humor in real life.
Congrats Carrie and Bobbey Mac on producing two fiesty American sagas of love. A star, Bob rocks.
This post going up for Ellis-Underwood fans and also for Hara Maranoof Psychology Today Magazine, and Courage to Live Life with a Psychology of Peace. Let’s go girl! No whimps allowed on this court of Love. Courage to return a serve. :)

Aunt Elvira‘s vintage, rusty typewriter sits under Californian sunshine like yard art, reminding me that people with great love, have always and will always write. The same day as I stare at this typewriter pondering what it was that she would write on it, American Idol star, Carrie Underwood skipped down the aisle with her hockey dude, Mike Fisher –Southern styles Saturday.
Tabloid bible of America, People says that the duo married in a tent in Atlanta, Georgia with 250 close friends and family celebrating their big day. RadarOnline.com says that the $500,000, elegant occasion starred classical music with the newlyweds favorite Bible readings being the star of their love. Different yet timeless.
People goes on to report the star couple saying: ”We could not feel more blessed to have found each other and to have shared this day with our friends and family that mean so much to us!” According to Billboard, they signed their names, Mike & Carrie Fisher. How cute.
Now back to Aunt Elvira’s Underwood typewriter. It’s probably about time, to dust this baby off and bring it back inside the house and continue the traditions of heart writing, as a branch and offshoot of her Elvi Art legacy. Food for thought perhaps as a project of renewal and restoration.

This blog post, will not grow my blog much in Hollywood. Because it is too pure. I don’t care though. Because sometimes worthy artists, deserve to be spotlighted and blogged about in Hollywood, with or without shock, attention-seekng antics. Variety is the alluring spice of life… So here’s this post today.
According to Allure MagazineCarrie Underwood is a good girl, who because she is so wholesome, is a scandal magnet. (more…)
Carrie Underwood‘s live version of the National Anthem at the Super Bowl 2010, can be viewed here. She pops in her Jackson-inspired white jacket. The country hottie did a good job. :)

If we live with the realization that what material possessions we do have, are not lasting, but are all only temporal things… then imagine how free we are, without any weights… to then live a bigger life in this world.
Carrie Underwood‘s new song Temporary Home is all about that concept. And of course, her new music video casts Underwood into the world of acting; in a dramatic storyline too. It’s never too late to be yet another “American Hannah Montana of the country-pop acting world,” I guess. Taylor Swift did it.
Enjoy the music!

At this juncture in American life and pop culture, something must be said about Pop Divas & The Romancing of America and The World. Being officially classed as ‘foreign press,’ I’ll write it from Hollywood today.
Carrie Underwood‘s MO, heading into Super Bowl, 2010, where the country superstar will sing the National Anthem of America before the nation’s biggest football game of the year (Woot!), is to sell the concept of a big American romance. She follows in the footsteps of her pop diva peers in this regard.
The Earth needs our Love–Michael Jackson‘s message in song, Grammys 2010.

Country superstar, Carrie Underwood, wore a white Edition by Georges Chakra gown that she paired with silver leather straps and keeping it very Jennifer Love Hewitt, also accessorized with a Swarovski crystal clutch purse.
She looks comfortable.

Beyonce is always beautiful and we all love her. However, why are Beyonce’s diet tips even remotely interesting as a cover story from US Weekly this week?
The girl is an athlete with a microphone. She dances for 2 hours a night live in concert when she hits the stage. For Beyonce, this has been almost every day, while on tour in 2009.
Any diet tips from Bee must come with 2 hours worth of exercise a day. She’s a reminder that dancing every day keeps the pounds off. At this time of the year, I guess that makes a worthwhile cover story. US Weekly seem to think so anyway.

Country singer, Carrie Underwood is engaged to her hockey beau, Michael Fischer of the Ottawa Sentinels.
Fischer confirmed the news during a press conference says UsWeekly.
It’s refreshing to hear some good romance news today in America for a change. Carrie Underwood’s married name will be Carrie Fisher … such a princess name and so Star Wars!!! :)

Very Edward of Twilight in the lyrical theming of her Cowboy Casanova song delivered with a very strong live performance too. Dig it.
A nice song, seeing that Twilight’s current New Moon blockbuster movie is actually a modern gothic Western film. Cowboy Vampires (outlaws and sherifs) meet Wolf Pack Indian lads in New Moon, but in Carrie’s movie-song; Underwood becomes Kristen Stewart‘s Bella in this song, and her heroine chooses the Cowboy vampire to fall dangerously in love with.
She’s very pop-culturally savvy with a touch of country twang. Carrie Underwood can do no wrong. Sweetheart.

Image of Carla Bruni Sarkozy, the First Lady of France, brought to you by le Clafloutis Restaurant, 8630 Sunset Blvd, West Hollywood, CA 90069. A restaurant on the Sunset Strip where stars dine.
Participating in the 19th Celebrity Softball Challenge at Nashville’s Greer Stadium on Wednesday, Carrie Underwood batted big for charity with fellow country stars of Nashville, including Vince Gill and Montgomery Gentry to raise funds for cancer research charity, City of Hope.
Nice to see a country star give back! Nice on Ms Underwood!
Angelina Jolie -Big heart, big hair, big lips, big career, big life... big seller!
COVERING THE WINNERS AND LOSERS:Beyond the cover lines and the fashion credits, there’s that celebrated face that can make or break a magazine’s newsstand sales. And if that face is a brunette with a handsome husband and a family the size of a farm team — or wife of an international soccer star — chances are she helped sell the most magazines last year. Read who Angelina reigns supreme over this year. (more…)
Bisexuality is so overrated, but for attention-seeker Lady Gaga, its getting her noticed today in the show biz, freak show of The Fame Game. Twitter news to tweeters is hot, alongwith the art and life of Spanish artist, Salvador Dali. The image in this post of the romance novel, Courage To Love by author, Robert Ellis, was painted at the hand of Salvador Dali. Enjoy!
She looks tired, but she cleaned up for Entertainer of The Year at The Country Music Awards, 2009. Nice one Carrie! She gives glory to God – that’s the test of a true star! It’s never about you. love that!
What a year she’s had. Carrie Underwood became country’s entertainer of the year last night in Nashville.
The singer was aided by the Country Music Awards desire to be more interactive, letting online voting decide it’s top honor. And the American Idol allum, cleaned up beating out her older male veteran peers: Keith Urban, Kenny Chesney and George Straight. Congratulations Miss Underwood. Next year, will be the year of Taylor Swift, for sure!
Here’s the iTunes version of Meagan. When she performs, something gets lost in all of ‘the pretty’ that is Megan Stunning Corkery. But in studio, she’s another Patsy Cline in the making. It’s only when you know what a broken heart is, that you can turn it out from the soul and put a smile on it, like Megan can. You can’t buy that, and it’s working!
Megan Corkery is kind of like a Carrie Underwood but more soulful and wordlier than when Carrie started on American Idol. Megan is kind of like Taylor Swift too, but more whiskey-smoked way. Corkery is tattooed because she lives in Utah, and she didn’t fit in, being a single parent. She’s on American Idol cause her dream cut through the self-righteousness of neighbors that would have written her off and buried her a long time ago. She has an amazing story of survival in breaking through repression, and I dig it. It’s an internal emotional story. One of breaking free of constant restraints. Freedom looks like Megan Corkery’s soul. If you have eyes to see what Freedom looks like.
I can relate. I kid. I’m not that deep. But I think she cool! She probably won’t win it, but she’s the most marketable on CD. She like the country/ swing Corine Bailey Ray of America is Megan Corkery with Patsy Cline’s vocals-from-the-heart thrown in. Oh… and we all know what Taylor Swift achieved in a year, and still is! So all power to ya Megan Corkery. Go get your dream!
