Nicole Kidman is evolving her entertainment resume as a Hollywood film producer while her peer Angelina Jolie is evolving as a Hollywood movie director. WILL CAMERON SHEPHERD OF THE WALLABIES RISE ABOVE INJURY FOR RUGBY WORLD CUP 2011?
Richard Graham the solid rugby football coach of The Western Force, Australia has backed Cameron Shepherd to return to his blistering best. Graham claims ‘the utility back has finally overcome a litany of injuries that threatened to derail his Super Rugby career.
Shepherd who was born in England but grew up in Sydney hasn’t missed a beat during the Force’s gruelling pre-season campaign, returning strongly from a hamstring complaint that kept him out of the recent Qantas Wallabies tour of Europe.
Graham believed Shepherd, who has suffered numerous setbacks since breaking his left fibula in eight places in 2007, would return to top form next season.
“He’s probably in the best condition he’s been in for a number of years,” Graham said at training on Wednesday.’
Fingers crossed then for Cameron Shepherd’s Rugby World Cup sports gladiatorial hopes for Australia next year. Hopefully Shepherd can stay in the clear from injury to compete at the world’s top sporting level.

Says Oprah: “I was questioning, Why don’t I build a boat and sail around the world? Why don’t I learn French and find a nice little house in Provence? I could see myself bicycling with my baguettes and the whole thing. But I talked it over with my friends, and they all said, ‘You’re not going to be happy doing nothing.’ What will be a failure is if nobody comes and watches this network. What others will perceive as failure is if some shows don’t succeed. I’m concerned about the bigger overall picture: my belief that people are basically good and want to see the good in them reflected through their experiences and the shows that they watch. This is a gamble I’m taking. I believe that the banal state of television, the kind of insipid space that we’re in–that you can have as many channels as we have and not find anything that really interests you–means that to a great extent we’ve lost our way.”

GRIEF, RABBIT HOLE, NICOLE KIDMAN AND AARON ECKHART MAKE “FALLING APART” LOOK OKAY
Once upon a time an author wrote the story of an average American couple, who woke up one day to their four-year-old son, following their family pooch into the street, only to get tragically killed by a teenaged driver. This story is the premise of Rabbit Hole, the film that Nicole Kidman‘s film company has produced–that has been Golden Globe nominated and that deals with grief.
“There’s no way around it. We all eventually lose somebody. We are going to grieve. And some of us are better at it than others” as Rabbit Hole proves. “Kidman, who also produced the film through her own Blossom Films, had stumbled upon a review of the Pulitzer Prize-winning play by David Lindsay-Abaire four years ago, while having coffee with her husband, Keith Urban, one morning at a Nashville Starbucks.
“It sounded so poignant,” she said. “They just said it was so real and authentic. And they’re the sort of stories that I’m drawn to.”
It’s awesome seeing Nicole Kidman leap so effortlessly into producing. A risky business in this economy outside of the studio system, but this A-List actress, armed with courage, a good script, her talent and some talented friends like Aaron Eckhart is off to a good start to date.
The film opens Christmas day. Woot!

AVATAR’S 3D STAR SAM WORTHINGTON TALKS UP THE SEQUEL
Who did not enjoy Avatar? We learned that anyone whose bomb or trigger happy is antiquated and that virtual Indigenous People all combined into one tribe, painted blue with corn braids and feathers are really all of us who care about saving the planet.
Now Avatar‘s main cast are talking up a sequel. Here’s the main points of what’s been hyped at this early stage:
It’s Out There: “It’s going to be really cool and out there,” Australia’s Sam Worthington tells moviefone.

On James Cameron wanting to be Moses: “He’s still writing what he calls ‘The Bible’ and detailing the world. Once he’s detailed the world — more so than it’s already detailed in his big brain, anyway — then, he said he can write the script, and we can go explore the world. Things like going underwater….going in the floating mountains.”
On the saving the planet theme: “What’s the new dilemma? Is it just humans coming back, or is something even bigger than can threaten them, threaten the world? We can look at our world again, and see that we know we’re hurting the environment, and we know we can do things about it. But what else are we doing that’s wrong…?”
To read more vague thoughts from an actor who has not yet been fed the script that does not yet exist in full, go here to MovieFone. I swear Worthington could be the next Elena Kagan because that interview was pretty impressive at giving away little.
We also have to remember that the novels are meant to be arriving on book shelves before the film (according to James own words) and even before the film script of the sequel is ready. We also have to realize, that James Cameron was last spotted with Andrew Adamson brainstorming the concept of turning Vegas’ acrobats into 3D movie-telling mythological ideas.
James is in no rush to do an Avatar sequel–he’s happy just taking each day as it comes. Smart man.

A WIKICOUP? – AUSTRALIA’S JULIA GILLARD HAD MORE AMBITION THEN WE ALL THOUGHT – WIKILEAKS
ATHEIST’S NEWS: Our favorite, demure fiery redhead angel, (not supermodel Miranda Kerr) but Australia’s hot ginge Prime Minister and overt atheist, Julia Gillard is not as innocent or demure as many of us had thought.
In the latest wikileaks cables updates, we discover that Julia had greater ambitions for her fiery red hair colors as red as Ayers Rock, more so than most Welsh girls turned Australian later on in life. These news snippet quotes via The Herald Sun Australia say it all:
“Don Farrell, the right-wing union powerbroker from South Australia, told us Gillard is ‘campaigning for the leadership’ and at this point is the frontrunner to succeed Kevin Rudd, conceding that the Right did not yet have an alternative,” the cable states.
‘The revelation challenges the ALP’s version of events surrounding the leadership challenge – that a reluctant Ms Gillard was drafted by her caucus colleagues at the 11th hour to stand as a candidate against Mr Rudd, whose leadership had become terminal as public support was lost.’
The report even states that in ‘June last year Ms Gillard was trying to knock off Mr Rudd.’
Scandalous! A spokeswoman for Ms Gillard said the Prime Minister would not comment on the confidential cables.
Isn’t it weird that Julia Gillard and Julian Assange share the same first name. Australians have really stepped up to the plate in the limelight hogging stakes on the global stage, so late on in the piece this year. Good on ‘em! I mean even Oprah felt compelled to update her big move from Chicago to California this year/next year by posing in front of Ayers Rock with some of the Aussie red being snapped behind her own mug for good measure, only THIS week.
Who would have foreseen this?! I can’t quite wrap my Maori-Kiwi head around seeing Ms. Gillard as a Queen of Coups, but perhaps she is! We await her official comment on the matter.

As voyeurs of this information, journalists take on a tone of part spy and part Foreign affairs diplomat too, if they mention J.A’s name or leaked facts that they repackage as news content. For a journalist J.A’s leaks saga he began was like an end of year gift for a journo.
Being brought up as a neighbor of Australia I see this man as a geeky next-door-neighbor who with IT, believes he’s a freedom fighter of sorts simply because he reads more newspapers (cables), than the bloke next door gets delivered to his mail box each day.

FRAMING JULIAN ASSANGE – SWEDEN, SEXUAL ASSAULT RAPE ALLEGATIONS, THERMONUCLEAR INFORMATION SHARING AND A LEAKY CONDOM SCANDAL
The drama surrounding Wikileaks founder Julian Assange is all ago today. Many media are now asking is Julian Assange being framed? And how did Rihanna know all this at Halloween when she appeared on US television dressed as Jessica Rabbit on The Dave Letterman Show weeks ago?
According to the CSM these things are occurring with Julian:
Deportation from the UK: He’s in a London jail cell awaiting deportation to Sweden. Accusations that Assange sexually assaulted two women in Sweden are being bandied about. Although both women in question claim they’ve had consensual sex with Assange, the ladies are allegedly using the “rape” word. Assange could face Sweden’s ”broken condom law,” (unprotected sex is illegal in Sweden) if he still continued without wrapping up, after his condom broke, as one of these ladies claim. Bad joke, the ‘leaky condom’ one! Meanwhile, the two ladies making allegations are getting ‘abused online absurdly by Assange’s supporters,’ says their lawyer who wants to be the Swedish Gloria Allred discrimination lawyer of the 2010′s.
Assange’s Insurance for a fair trial: His lawyer is warning that Assange has distributed the digital equivalent of a “thermonuclear device” in case something happens to him. (more…)

MELBOURNE’S DANIEL ASSANGE TALKS DAD’S “AUDACIOUS AWESOMENESS”
Daniel Assange has a story that could be as big as The Social Network film. His own life story.
If you’ve ever seen the movie, The Castle - Daniel’s story could be like this, except the ‘house’ isn’t a house it’s a website company his dad owns calls wikileaks. An airport (metaphor for foreign diplomats, dubious bankers, sketchy insurance people et al) all want to land on it and kill his father, maybe innocent Daniel too. Scandalous kid’s story–and Melbourne is such a chilled out happy multicultural city. There’s over 48 different nationalities who’ve settled there not too far from the Yara river. It’s always fun in Melbourne. Lots of smiles all round in this community-minded Cosmopolitan City. But not so for Daniel–he’s now an international target because he is the son of a man of mystery. Basically his father is the James Bond, or The Mission Impossible ‘maybe spy’ of this Century so far. All over computers and what information anyone can gather with data code created by people working in systems dependent on being addicted to typing, with those 26 consonants that make up the English (and American) written language. To own private control of data, makes people feel more powerful–but the thing is, this is a myth, because many people can own that data–you just don’t know it.
In a way, if you’re one of these people feeling more entitled to anyone else who uses a computer and typed data, and you feel your sense of power is being eroded because someone else can access your typed information–then grow up. You live in a bubble of false privilege and insecurity based on an identity in owning your own consonants arrangement on a computer screen, that can then be printed and shared. You need to find a deeper sense of identity and personal power than data ownership. Don’t get mad at Daniel’s father for teaching US all the obvious lesson and updating us all in the age of computer technology. Anyway, this is Daniel’s father’s story (mainly) so far. It’s box office shattering hot–all the way across the world from Melbourne Australia. Who would have thought?
Daniel is the 20 year old Melbourne-based, computer programmer son of Julian Assange founder of Wikileaks.
According to the website Crikey: Now with extra source, ‘When Daniel was 16 Julian asked him to join him in a website he called WikiLeaks. According to the news blog Crikey Daniel was sceptical and, not being on the best of terms with his father, declined. ”I never thought he was going to succeed,” he told the blog. Now Daniel seems to have warmed to WikiLeaks. WASHINGTON (Dow Jones)–President Barack Obama chose to bless people convicted of mutilating coins, using cocaine and writing bad checks with his first presidential pardons.
In all, Obama pardoned nine people Friday for crimes dating as far back as the 1960s. Those pardoned had been sentenced to as little as one year of probation to up two years in confinement. Fines and damages for the offenders ranged from as little as $20 to $71,000.
When asked why Obama chose the group for his first pardons, Reid Cherlin, a spokesman for the White House, said, “The president was moved by the strength of the applicants’ post-conviction efforts at atonement, as well as their superior citizenship and individual achievements in the years since their convictions.”
Ronald Lee Foster of Beaver Falls, Pa., was among those pardoned. He was sentenced in North Carolina in 1963 to one year of probation and a $20 fine for “Mutilation of coins.” The statute he was charged under says it’s unlawful to, among other things, alter, deface, mutilate, impair, diminish, falsify, scale or lighten any U.S. coins.

It’s Christmas Time in Hollywood California. I don’t know why I’m so excited about Christmas this year, however it is exciting! In the festive spirit of Christmas, here’s Shout to the Lord a song that has sold around the world more than most pop star’s can claim selling a number 1 hit as sung by the cast of American Idol one year.
The song is written by Australian singer/ songwriter Darlene Zschech who started life as a child model doing Coppertone tanning lotion advertisements.
