ANGELINA JOLIE AND BRAD PITT ENJOY SOME NAMIBIAN MALL CHRISTMAS SHOPPING
Star sighting: Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were spotted shopping in a Namibian mall while on Christmas vacations there with their whanau (family). Four years ago the fun-loving mischief one of their brood, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt (it’s genetic as Alecia Moore would sing in a rock concert with her black music director at the helm wowing the USA on tour, who did not have a white cap put on him) was born in this nation of beautiful people. Nice to see Namibia get a shout out from Hollywood’s reigning star couple this year.

KEO SPORTS WEBSITE, BIG BEASTS OF THE GAME AND SOUTH AFRICA’S RUGBY NEWS COVERAGE
Rugby football news coverage in South Africa today doesn’t get much better than Keo.Co.Za. Here’s the latest scoop on what’s happening with The Boks. Already I’m liking Keo. A sports website that’s quite blunt.
‘The Springboks failed to make any progress on their end-of-year tour. Is Victor Matfield too conservative to be Bok captain? The All Blacks capped off an outstanding 2010 with their third Grand Slam in five years. The Wallabies were frustratingly inconsistent on their end-of-year tour. If England are to seriously challenge for the World Cup, they will have to stand up to the big beasts of the game. Behind the swagger lies a secret diary that is driving England wing Chris Ashton to new heights.’
Just some of the newsy stories on Keo’s sports news agenda today. Kia Ora South Africa in the Hollywood Horiwood Haus. Haere mai – Welcome.

THE HORIWOOD TOP TEN – TUE 12.7.10
Transparency is like refined gold, it has to be earned, tested with trust. So, I like people who endeavor to display a transparent spirit as leaders who serve the best interests of all, hence this quote running on this blog: ”In my time as Prime Minister I have tried to push for greater transparency, and we are happy to have an independent body overseeing expenses and entitlements for MPs [politicians], says New Zealand’s leader from Wellywood/ Wellington,”John Key 3 News. Information is like water flow. It often doesn’t flow to the right people who need to have it. Knowledge equals power. Africa needs water. What do we do this knowledge?
Transparency is good in any sincere culture but discretion is a part of wisdom too: ‘Do not let the left hand know what the right hand is doing… Be as wise as a serpent and as harmless as a dove… A wise man conceals a matter.’
Often people who expect others to be transparent are not themselves–so good men and naturally transparent people–are forced to be wise and manage their own information about themselves, like a cultural taonga of New Zealand belonging to the collective people of Aotearoa New Zealand. Each nation is a knowledge farm of fruitful minds.
Here in America, today - Shiloh Jolie-Pitt has already worked out what her parents do and wants to follow in their footsteps already as a performer turning out a show. “Shi’Bouncy” couldn’t be happier with her baseball bat and military attire as mother Angelina Jolie, sister Zahara and Maddox go to Lee’s Art Store themselves in Manhattan, New York to shop before they imagine and create as artists. Too cute. This family is on the attack today from haters not in Jolie’s league, or, all of her children either. Love it. Maddox Jolie-Pitt has been a star longer than many people claiming to be celebs today. He was born this way. A star.
Jolie’s statement today could be–Our best art, is serving our children, to be informed by their worldview, creating their art. In any culture, isn’t that always the truth.

CHEVRON FIGHTS AIDS AS THEIR BUSINESS
Here’s a good pertrol heads story. Gas company Chevron say “fighting AIDS is our business.”
They see the medical issue as being a corporate issue to support in finding a cure.
It has been 25 years now that Chevron has been doing this. Good on them! They also have the cheapest gas in CA. Good leadership from corporates all round. 14.2 million people in Africa alone are affected by AIDS/ HIV.

ALICIA KEYS SAYS NO KEYBOARDS FOR DEC 1st AIDS AWARENESS DAY
Here’s a clever marketing campaign. Alicia Keys wants everyone to be social media networks free on December 1st and not go near a keyboard, in the hope to bring awareness to AIDS. Kim Kardashian (pictured) has signed up to join Keys by posing for the ‘digital death’ moment in American history. It is believed to be a first.
Following Kim is Justin Timberlake and Lady Gaga who will do the same thing. Social media means no Twitter, no Facebook on this day. I guess it also means, no answering blog comments either for 24 hours, for bloggers.
If you think that’s a dumb idea, then go here to Keep A Child Alive and donate early. The main point is to donate with the digital technology we have in our hands to do good. There are 14.2 million children in Africa with AIDS. What a good idea.

Ali Hewson has a heart for Africa. With her Ehud fashion label, 49% owned by Louis Vuitton Hewsen and her U2 rocker beau, Bono, plan to make a difference with proceeds in Africa. Way cool!

DEAR HAMPTONS, LOVE WILL NEVER DO WITHOUT EDUCATING KENYA by SERENA WILLIAMS, TENNIS CHAMP AND ROLE MODEL AMERICAN CITIZEN
Serena Williams is doing way too much of the tennis court today, using her influence to glam up the education of third world citizens. Here’s Serena modeling her booty off for Hamptons magazine.
These comments from M Noble of Cover Awards website on Serena’s Opra-esque star turn as a grand slams tennis champ, turned African educator. Love her.
Blogs M.N: [This photoshoot with Serena] . . . “is gorgeous. It almost reminds me of a Robert Mapplethorpe print or a still from the Herb Ritts-directed Janet Jackson Love Will Never Do Without You video.
. . . “I always said winning all those Grand Slams was a dream, but when I opened my school in Kenya, that was the best feeling in the world because I was helping people who had almost nothing…one of the schools contains special services for children who are hearing impaired – we gave them computers donated by Hewlett-Packard, and one of the kids came up to me crying and said, ‘Now I can finally tell everyone what’s on my mind,’” Williams remembers. “I feel like my job, more than anything, is to be a good Christian…I’ve been known to make mistakes and because I do live in the public eye, it can be hard, but I’m living my life as best I can.”
Wow! I didn’t know Serena was a Christian. I guess Moses, a Jewish legend Christians usually look up to, threw those tablets of stone down on the ground when he lost his cool, harder than Ms. Serena does her tennis racquet when not impressed with foot fault umpires rulings, so that all makes sense now. Lol! :) I wonder if Serena buys her books to read on tour, from Jayson Payne & his youthful team at The Rockpile Bookstore in San Diego then? With Serena modeling with such focus like she is in these pics as if she’s The Elle McPherson of the American sports world, and with the Rock Piles Emmys strong McPherson connections, I think that Ms Williams would most probably consider purchasing some of her books there with Mr Jayson.
But seriously, what a model citizen of the world Ms. Williams is shaping up to be. Educating Kenya! She’s just too cool for Hollywood school, this child of tennis.

FROM TANZANIA, BRETT HARRISON SAYS HE’S NEVER HEARD OF ANNE RICE
I like to read other bloggers thoughts. They amuse me, more than Television does most days.I like normal people who are not afraid to use their brains and share their thoughts–even if they are right or wrong. That’s an active global participant of thought, and that’s all good. Such people, shape, test, ignore opinion. And sometimes add humor to it too.
Today, I discovered “Brett Harrison” who is a missionary man (no, not the Annie Lennox song, but a dude with a blog offshore from the country where he was born and once lived) with a young family in Africa. His blog post claims he’s never heard of Anne Rice. Whether Brett is ‘real’ or a ‘construct’ or if Bret is in Tanzania or Long Beach, CA or if Brett’s blog, is really how he thinks, or is a construct–I don’t care. His blog posts are die hard funny.
Here’s two things about Brett’s article on why he’s never heard of Anne Rice before:
“My name is Brett Harrison. I begin each morning with several (4-8) cups of coffee and a prayer that’s scribbled in the front of every notebook I own: “Today I will seek God’s face. I will seek his rule in my life as I live in his kingdom. I will strive to live into the reality of my right relationship with God.” Then I pinch myself as a reminder of two other realities — 1) that I married WAY up and 2) that my wife, Christie, and I have a beautiful daughter named Baylor. The three of us live together in Geita, Tanzania, where Christie and I are working as servants. It’s not really our home, though, and we’re often reminded of just that….”
Horiwood: Perhaps Brett should make Tanzania his home. Why look over your shoulder, when committing to what’s ahead, would be easier. I add this thought as Brett is the only African-based, Geita missionary getting Hollywood entertainment news coverage today.

… I have never been that kind of brother, but thankfully James Haven is. :)

HARRY POTTER’S DANIEL RADCLIFFE FOR TREVOR PROJECT
Gay teen suicide is a huge problem. Here’s Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe‘s great interview for The Trevor Project –an organization who gives a damn about it.
Nice one Daniel. To find out more about the Trevor Project–to mentor, volunteer or donate to this great community based outreach, and make a difference–go here if you want to.
Thanks Tribe Horiwood.
Daniel Radcliffe stars in the upcoming The journey is the Destination–that depicts UK journalist Dan Eldon‘s life as a photojournalist who first brought attention to the plight of people in Somalia with his photographic works. The full plot goes like this: “Dan Eldon was was a British born photographer, who spent his childhood in Kenya. His photographs of refugees from the Somalian civil war led to his employment by Reuters, who sent him to Somalia in 1992. His pictures helped draw the world’s attention to the crisis, but on 12 July 1993, while covering the story that UN forces had accidentally killed 74 civilians, he and three colleagues were stoned and beaten to death by a furious crowd. Written by LSJ “
But really, I wish Dan Radcliffe would be cast as a Hobit in Sir Peter Jackson’s next films. He’d be great in these potentially 3D movies. Go Dan Rad!
