ACTOR ALEX MERAZ – SEVEN TWEETS RIZON – 12.26.10
An Arizona sense of Humor: “Just got three gold teeth for my new role! Peruvian chicks love a guy with gold teeth I have to keep telling them I’m not a rapper or a drug dealer but no one will believe me.”
Twilight Saga‘s Alex Meraz always makes me smile the way Alex tweets. His native American Indian sense of humor is very similar to Maori in New Zealand. Here’s the rest of Alex’ tweets as a working action star actor of Hollywood:
On how fame changes community roles: “Just got invited to do a police ride along…and I’ll actually be in the passenger side and NOT the back this time!”
How to announce getting selected as a sex symbol of America: “Check out my photo for PEOPLE MAGAZINES “Sexiest Man Alive issue” in stores now http://twitpic.com/37q2df“
On the joy of screenwriting is entirely one’s own–most times: “Been giggling to myself all day like a little girl…nearly finished writing a movie script and It’s a shake-weight stroke of genius!”
On prepping for Twilight filming: “Guess what script I’m reading? I’ll give you a hint…It rhymes with “Breaking Dawn pt.1″ Oops!!!”
On being a secret Miley Cyrus fan: Christmas came early!! Check out my new journalhttp://twitpic.com/3cy5x6.
Lol!

CHINAWOOD – HENGDIAN WORLD STUDIOS IN CHINA LOOKS GROOVY TODAY
The good thing about being a blogger, is that other bloggers, whose world you know nada (Espanol for al zippo) about link to your blog–and teach you something.
For example some blogger with a teen persona named “Au-Yeung” just linked to Horiwood.Com. Already people are reading a Horiwood.Com post about Lucy Liu written and posted on February 21st 2009, shortly after I first started blogging and Rihanna‘s nasty black eye was THE topic of conversation in Young Hollywood that rocked the world of entertainment.
Au-Yeung’s post is this picture about Hengdian World Studios. Believe it or not, we rave on about Hollywood studios here in L.A but this pic features the film studio that China describes as being the largest in the world that was founded by a farmer turned millionaire Xu W sometimes called “Chinawood.” Now that was one farmer who upgraded his golden crops smartly.
The Standard Hong Kong sheds light on Chinawood’s founding once-poor farmer, noting: “Behind Hengdian’s rise is Xu Wenrong, a fiery 72-year-old multimillionaire who made a fortune manufacturing textiles, electronics, chemicals and pharmaceuticals. Since building his first set there a decade ago for a director-friend making a film about the opium wars, Xu has plowed millions of dollars from his Hengdian Group empire to remake this farming enclave into “Chinawood.”
Xu said he picked Hengdian because it was his hometown. From a single lot, Hengdian World Studios has spread to a 25-square-kilometer area, almost twice the size of Beverly Hills. The local government has given him permission to expand tenfold. Now, Xu speaks with the arrogance of a Hollywood mogul. (<– Hey, cut it out! Hollywood moguls are becoming more gracious!)”Beijing can’t compete with me,” said Xu, who was himself a poor farmer.
He scoffed at Beijing’s chronic water shortage. “And who can afford Shanghai?” he asked.”
Alright, perhaps China does need to click on this PURE WATER post to be humanely royal too then to the good people of Beijing with water flow and power flows in the right and more humane directions. I do love this story about Chinawood. Very cool via Hong Kong.
Apparently, Xu envisions his studio as a one-stop filming center. ”Our slogan is, `You come here with a script and leave with a finished story,”‘ he said. Hengdian Group has already teamed up with Warner Brothers and another local company to create Warner China Films HG, which will produce Chinese- language movies for the big screen and television.” There’s no stopping Warner Bros. expansion worldwide. What a good tie in. That slogan does need rewriting though. It’s like doh! Of course scripts should become finished stories–you’re a film studio! Blimey!
What a nice Christmas gift. New news about other places, locations and people in the world who entertain with the medium of film and cinema all year round like bloggers do too sharing their news and images in Hollywood. Thanks Au-Yeung.

TAYLOR LAUTNER’S STAR POWER, HOLLYWOOD 2011
Taylor Lautner: The only teen action movie star to clearly make it through Hollywood’s quick sand celebrity hoops in 2010 by playing a teen werewolf has managed to keep his newest relaysh with Lily Collins out of the public eye, at least compared to his tour-de-paparazzi-force courtship with Taylor Swift.
This kid never made the top ten in Hollywood this year, but still proves he can kick above his weight in Tinsel Town. He’s a symbol that teen lads can do anything if they work hard, get lucky breaks, if authors write popular book series with teens in mind that then get adapted to film; and with the right parenting behind them.
Lautner’s upcoming movie work in Hollywood sees him cast in the film: Abduction (Post Production); The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part I & Breaking Dawn Part II as Jacob Black.

AVATAR’S 3D STAR SAM WORTHINGTON TALKS UP THE SEQUEL
Who did not enjoy Avatar? We learned that anyone whose bomb or trigger happy is antiquated and that virtual Indigenous People all combined into one tribe, painted blue with corn braids and feathers are really all of us who care about saving the planet.
Now Avatar‘s main cast are talking up a sequel. Here’s the main points of what’s been hyped at this early stage:
It’s Out There: “It’s going to be really cool and out there,” Australia’s Sam Worthington tells moviefone.
On James Cameron wanting to be Moses: “He’s still writing what he calls ‘The Bible’ and detailing the world. Once he’s detailed the world — more so than it’s already detailed in his big brain, anyway — then, he said he can write the script, and we can go explore the world. Things like going underwater….going in the floating mountains.”
On the saving the planet theme: “What’s the new dilemma? Is it just humans coming back, or is something even bigger than can threaten them, threaten the world? We can look at our world again, and see that we know we’re hurting the environment, and we know we can do things about it. But what else are we doing that’s wrong…?”
To read more vague thoughts from an actor who has not yet been fed the script that does not yet exist in full, go here to MovieFone. I swear Worthington could be the next Elena Kagan because that interview was pretty impressive at giving away little.
We also have to remember that the novels are meant to be arriving on book shelves before the film (according to James own words) and even before the film script of the sequel is ready. We also have to realize, that James Cameron was last spotted with Andrew Adamson brainstorming the concept of turning Vegas’ acrobats into 3D movie-telling mythological ideas.
James is in no rush to do an Avatar sequel–he’s happy just taking each day as it comes. Smart man.

Her movie Tron Legacy is sure to be a hit with Transformer film franchise fans and video games peeps. The trailer of TL can be watched here.
Last year Olivia was the 55th top ranked star in Hollywood on this blog. Good things comes to those who, wait and work harder. 2011 is her year. Go kid!

CHRISTIAN BALE WILL PLAY THE DARK KNIGHT, BATMAN, ONE LAST TIME
He’s done two films already in the bat suit, and he thinks the upcoming third Dark Knight film could be his last as the caped super hero.
Says actor Christian Bale to E! Online, ”The thing is that this will be, I believe, unless Chris [Nolan] says different, this will be the last time I’m playing Batman.”
The last film, The Dark Knight was pretty amazing, let’s see if Nolan wants to make more Batman films after this third one with Bale.

The movie opens Wednesday in the City of Angels. Go see. Tom Berenger and Mauricio Lopez and martial artist, Sidney S. Liufau also star in this George Tillman Jr. directed film.

SAM WORTHINGTON HAS MOVIE STAR COURAGE FILMING HIS OWN STUNTS
Doing your own stunts is one of those things only A-List stars really attempt. It cements their fame at the top of the action stars game, where in movies is where all of the box office money is at. It’s always an upward climb.
Here’s Sam Worthington of Avatar fame doing his own stunt work on top of the landmark Roosevelt Hotel, New York City. The stonework detail on the Roosevelt is pretty impressive too.
Sam Worthington is fearless. He must have a very flexible life insurance policy. Go figure!
Just Jared describe Sam as being “a man on a ledge” today–the name of Worthington’s new film. Nicely put.
It must be strange for Sam not to be in a 3D film. He’s a blockbuster actor of 3D films in the 2010′s to date.

ELOISE GREENWOOD IS A MILKYBAR KID OF AUCKLAND THE SUPERCITY
Meet Eloise Greenwood. This girl of Auckland The Supercity, New Zealand, fancies herself as the next Milkybar Kid of adventure land in the beautiful South Pacific.
The Milkybar kid is a cultural icon, who is a child cowboy or cowgirl who rounds up baddies, in order to distribute the whitest, creamiest chocolate know to the modern world, to their friends and bestest buddies.
Happy times for kids worldwide, has always been The Kid’s message. In New Zealand, with the best dairy products the world can produce in a Cosmopolitan and rurally-fused nation, we are Milky.
With a name like Greenwood, Eloise is sure to fare well when the votes are counted on November 19th.

CREATING ASIANS IN POP CULTURE IN AMERICA VIA NEW ZEALAND
America hasn’t been forthcoming in providing high profile Asian-American faces in Hollywood texts of entertainment. Why? Who knows.
When needing to broker new markets with either India or China to grow the American economy any Asian faces are worthwhile promoting to show cultural match with these two nations.
Here’s a study of Dan Choi – one of the few Asian-American faces actually allowed to be promoted within America. I’m writing this from Hollywood the weekend that California was successful in brokering a film making partnership with the Indian film industry this week. So at least some gains are being made for America and the economy this week.
If we’re talking about growing Hollywood’s film industry, perhaps Asian action films, as in Bruce Lee proven cross-over film markets appeal, being updated in 3D, are what Hollywood should be seeking to do–to grow the California film industry. Perhaps.
If I was the Governor of California (eg: newly elected Jerry Brown) I would hold meetings with Spielberg and Ang Lee types too and the likes, to suggest California partners with China to remake Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon in 3D, or a movie similar.
As America is too slow, I guess New Zealand filmmakers will have to get on this one instead, to grow the Chinese-Kiwi film industry down under. Actors of the calibre of Yun-Fat Chow and Ziyi Zhang would be very welcome in New Zealand to make their films, I reckon.
Good films with Asian leads should be normal in the world. Asian faces should be seen a lot more than they are in the West. These are my thoughts anyway, blogging today from a humble apartment in Hollywood. Let’s go through bamboo forest in 3D New Zealand–why not?!
With ‘Hollywood Maori King’ Cliff Curtis (a proponent of Mau Rākau traditional Maori martial arts) demonstrating that Maori-Kiwi actors can hold their own in Asian-friendly themed martial arts action films in 3D, there is little risk in this strategy. The film Cliff Curtis last appeared in, The Last Airbender grossed: US$ 121,601,062 domestically within the US and $186,901,861 outside of the US. Or total gross: $318,902,923. Or over one third of New Zealand’s entire Tourism earnings in any given year. Not bad. Which incidentally, is also why Cliff Curtis is still New Zealand’s leading Hollywood Maori King. That’s some box office clout, right there in the future direction of New Zealand cinema in 3D featuring Asians and Asian-American actors and Maori / Kiwi actors too in the leads.

The future’s so bright, we’re all gonna wear 3D Kiwi shades.

MEET BENJAMIN CLARK – A MILKYBAR KID FOREVER!
“Think you used enough dynamite their buddy?”–Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid scripting
Meet young Benjamin Clark. He’s from Auckland the Supercity in New Zealand and he’s gunning for the title of the Milkybar Kid.
Nestle chocolate’s adventurous child cowboy hero, is a New Zealand legend for rounding up baddies who stop kids from having the whitest creamiest milk chocolate on the planet. A new nationwide search began a while back for this new TVC campaign in Middle Earth. Do you think Ben should be the next white chocolate cowboy of his generation?
Good luck young Benjamin Clark. Dream big – Anything is possible.
Here’s a vintage TV commercial below, I was raised on watching as a kid. Incidentally Auckland The Supercity is a fantastic place to visit with children and also to raise children in. It’s a lot of fun. Yachting cowboys is one thing Auckland is known for in raising good kids.
In Auckland children are given the opportunity to grow up in-the-main to be quite courteous, culturally savvy, intelligent (good schools, colleges and education) and always adventurous in the amazing outdoors of clean and green, New Zealand paradise. Everyday I miss it. New Zealand really is that good.
Check out Benjamin Clarke’s City here:
[Western movie scene- Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid starring Paul Newman & Robert Redford - Being a cowboy is a risky business, when fighting for your creamy white chocolate. Explosive results sometimes happen on the cowboy trail quite by accident. Watch this clip: Dust, smoke, splinters and cash blowing in the wind - oops, an American Western! Good Luck Ben! Whether you win the MK hat or not, you’re a Milkybar Kid here in Hollywood today on this blog. Go get it all! The world is your swagger. Here’s looking at you kid. Represent for Auckland! :)

“MAORI”-RUSSIAN ART AS A TALKING POINT ON MAORI REPRESENTATION IN THE FUTURE OF 3D ACTION MOVIES CINEMA
Cute are these Wahine Maori “stacking dolls” via this website.
The visual: “Maoriland” goes to Russia. Living in a Jewish-Russian neighborhood (Little Russia) of West Hollywood, California…
I’m totally feeling these cross-cultural art-on-wood numbers, due to my daily cross-cultural neighborhood reference.
To buy a set go here. Cute.
Outside of stereotyping Maori as icons, set in art, there’s a lot to work forward in how portraits and pictures of strong and intelligently nuanced Maori women should be getting told today in the Arts and via media.
Therefore these ‘cute’ stacking dolls are perhaps a good starting point to talk about when Maori women, will act in 3D action films with Russia themed story lines, in 3D.
Why not? Imagine that! :)

AB – AUBERGINE, BABA GANOUSH RECIPE for RUGBY FOOTBALL FANS AND A-LIST AMERICAN CELEBRITIES
A different view: Photoshopped Aubergine featuring the letters, A & B.
If you blog from Hollywood “A” will always stand for Angeles, Angel (a messenger), or, Angelina (Jolie) – a second generation proven Hollywood star and cultural, global treasure of America.
“B” in Hollywood’s current celebrity star system, will always stand for Brad (Pitt)- champion celebrity supporter of the New Orleans Saints football team, who wear a Super Bowl ring. “B” stands for Barack (President Obama, husband of FLOTUS Michelle Obama) and Bill (Clinton) husband of the current US Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton or (more current) Canada‘s teen entertainer, Bieber (Justin) or a returning Kawana (Governor) of California, Jerry Brown too.
Of these names listed – American culture is spun, millions of dollars, time, energy, resources, hours and hours and hours of global attention and effort are spent printing, distributing, broadcasting, (watching, viewing, emulating, discussing at office water coolers) any inkling of a sighting or a key message from any one of these names.
As celebrities of entertainment, politics, music, arts and culture – they form a multi-billion dollar industry that generates around them each day. AB people, leading the world – in a metaphor of a (solar) star system, or the particles of an atom. They are the oracles, of a Super Power’s discourse. The artillery (signifiers elect by popular free-choice vote) of a super power’s dominance and culture–imploring the key message of: ‘emulate US’ worldwide. They’re fun people. Fun sells. As celebrities of US culture, I like them all. More often than not, they always bring a smile.
“B” also equals whose got the ball. B is also about what you do for others when you have the ball.
You’re an A-List star in Hollywood when you do A-List worthy things with the ball you hold in your hands for others. Angelina Jolie perhaps sums this up the best, on her humanitarian missions for the UN, to people of the world most needing advocacy. AB is a blood type (like any other, O type for example is too) –the signifier of human life globally–symbolizing the movement of a pulse for the good, across the globe, for people.
Practically speaking though, if you’re from New Zealand and you’re a rugby football enthusiast, AB stands for All Blacks and of them and what they have achieved in sports and what AB’s culture has inspired for human rights records of the World (cf: Nelson Mandela‘s story and human rights, apartheid advocacy via Maori New Zealanders and Kiwis in the documentary films of artist, Merata Mita, one of the most significant filmic artists in the world of all time, who held, focused or directed a camera, in often zero budget filming conditions–yet in a Queenly manner, like Angelina Jolie is now as a debut director, seeing beyond color bars into the heart of genocidal, raping tendencies as a filmic theme)–is only the stuff Hollywood legends are written of and made of. Hence that very long sentence. Sorry ’bout that.
On the other side of the world, in New Zealand, at a significant time in world history as captured on film in Merata’s film, Patu! – AB’s culture helped free a Nobel Peace Prize Winning King, of South Africa. His life story of freedom, is a Kiwi story too. He’s in our hot mix. Maori and Kiwi’s freed him with advocacy also, helping give Nelson his long awaited cup of Liberty in his unique journey of a very long walk to freedom as a now celebrated South Africa icon of the world. When New Zealand play South Africa in rugby, we celebrate our part we play, in his ongoing legacy of freedom. He gave us a challenge, we responded, and that legacy to free others, will always be what we do in rugby country, Middle Earth. It’s a proven gift, a cultural taonga (inner treasure) AB Kiwi-thinkers have, carry, possess, pass on to others when needed for the world.
We instigate the play and the pass of freedom with our actions and instincts, outworked in a teamwork formation. We always have.
AB thinkers and action star-doers, are ‘Humanitarian Messangers of Sport.’ They are down-to-earth and fine Commonwealth people. Their nobility of spirit is defined by a Joe Blogg’s-appearing cloak of humility.
Like any rugby football enthusiast or ‘team work sports’ appreciating Kiwi in the world –The AB’s are our fun heroes. Gladiators of sport, whenever they appear, they symbolize fearless change in a modern world of fiercely contested challenges. New teamwork strategies in play is what they evolve as a science of sport and an art form of globally loved entertainment. They are masters at evolving the game of play and making it better.
Image: Photo-shopped Aubergine (deep purple) appearing as black. Hot image via Freaking News website.
[For a good Baba Ganoush dip recipe, enjoyed by people in the Middle East equally (regardless of geographical borders) and also with people in the Western World too, check out David Bovitz recipe. Pictures are also DB's. Recipe found here].
What’s cooking in your kitchen for the world America? Good things, I trust. Happy cooking, creating, eating, shared and diverse dining. Peace ya’ll! :)
[Below Image: 'Canterbury Kia Mau Training Rugby Ball" courtesy if Ikon Sport].
A and B are two important keys on a King or Queen’s piano’s keyboard. I am not either. I am the “C” key, of Middle Earth (eyes are needed to C), like any try-and-do-some-good Kiwi does, I try and join in too, in and around supporting our rugby footballers to excel in teamwork opportunities that get the best results on and off the field.
Our rugby players are our AB’s stars. The rest of us Kiwi’s – at best, tend to play the “Middle C” key role of Middle Earth – to entertain for a peaceful and productive future of “big hearted” purposes in the world. Baba Ganoush - with pita bread as a change from Latino-staple Corn Chips and Salsa, in this Jerry Brown latino-voted California’s elect future, of political climate change terrain of Hollywood, that I blog from. Exciting times.
Keeping it real, is having a diverse taste palate. That way, we’re more likely to consider the needs of others, with a worldview different and/or similar to our own. Mature tastes then maturing together with consideration and love for others in our stout rugby and football hearts- Baba Ganoush, why not?! You know it. Peace!
