GOOGLE’S POLITICAL SPIN MACHINE TIES HOLD UP, CORPORATE ENTITIES LATCHING ON & WHAT INDIA & CHINA SEE OF HORIWOOD WEBSITE VIA BAIDU.COM

Baidu Shanghai GoogleFame happens when Google works with politicians & the world’s bankers: Here’s a news story about rewards of that system for one online company. PRINCE HARRY WINDSOR 33RD MOST VOTED STAR 2012

He is the lovable larrikin of the British Royals (well… one of them)… Prince Harry Windsor is the 33rd most voted star of 2012.

The post you most liked of the Prince this year was this one.

VIDEO: PRINCE CHARLES SPEAKING MAORI IN NGAI TAHU LAND – CHRISTCHURCH CITY

I am watching Prince Charles speak Maori on TV.

The future King and Camilla are in Ngai Tahu country, Otautahi (Christchurch). He doesn’t do too badly at the Maori language.

Mark Solomon says it was 2002 when the Ngai Tahu tribe hosted Regina and Prince Philip. Prince William the tribe hosted not too long ago. “An honor to have the family in NZ.” A lovely story. Sir Tipene O’Reagan looks healthy in footage that isn’t filmed (all avante-garde impromptu), in shaky-cam for once. Excellent. He does a good job in koroua mode too.

Scotty Morrison and the Te Karere Team have the kanikani me te korero.

KATE MOSS, BACON SANDWICH, JAMES FINCH & SAME SENSE OF GRUMPY HUMOR

“Do you want a bacon sandwich?… Yeah… He likes to do the same things that I like to do, and he’s got the same sense of humour. He’s really fun. And really grumpy as well. Men are grumpy, aren’t they?”

Kate Moss 38, is a riot in Vanity Fair December 2012, explaining her internet rocker hubby James Finch‘s appeal. So funny! James is 43.

A PINT AT SAINT JAMES PALACE – PRINCE CHARLES GETS HIS BEER CHUG ON

True facts: 172 years ago his great grandma signed a Treaty to recognise Maori as equal partners of the early British settlers from England (and all settlers from elsewhere in the world) to New Zealand.

The original document would form a constitution, that still needs a lot of work to recognize the clarity of what the spirit of the original document signifies. (That’s an entire library of copious books of flat lying excuses to go over… so let’s just not in this post).

Today, he is drinking a beer at Saint James Palace.

Good fun.

As far back as I have TV memories, Prince Charles and his family have always been in them. They gave us happy memories as people, born into a gold fish bowl. A weird existence that we all voyeured on mercilessly without ever saying thanks. (more…)

THE HORIWOOD TOP TEN – 10th OCTOBER 2012

It’s a neck-and-neck fight for the top spot on the website today. Coming in with two votes more than his nearest peers and ’rivals’ (all tied in second place) is NZ’s All Blacks rugby football captain, with a brand new book written with a gifted Kiwi playwright.–Photo: Book press, TVNZ’s Close Up Team‘s Mark Sainsbury.

The Horiwood Top Ten today are:

1. Richie McCaw: The Open Side, The Autobiography book, co-written with Greg McGee is set to break book sales record

2. Tie A: Rod Stewart‘s new book talks up the virtues of Rachel Hunter

2. Tie B: Mark Wahlburg & Dwayne Johnson

2. Tie C: Kimberly Stewart, Rachel Hunter and family

5. Kate Middleton bikini beach scandal & celebrities

6. Amy Rhodes

7. Renee Stewart rock royalty model star

8. Rihanna – LA’s owl tattoos - Love Doesn’t Hurt

9. Maori Men – Artistic Strength Ta Moko Courage

10. Tsunami Survivor Films

No.11: Esquire Magazine Mila Kunis top honors 2012

Rachel Hunter‘s website reveals her last three tweets. The model mother of Spokaine Chief’s hockey star, Liam Stewart had this to share. They are: “I have just had my eyes checked. Driving glasses. Oh dear.” And: RT @rachelhunterx chickens, cattle and pigs live in such hard conditions. Especially those whose demise is predetermined.” Finally Hunter is also promoting breast cancer awareness too.

The vibe is Scottish Kiwi today.

Richie McCaw was on the Good Morning TV show this morning with Petra Bagust, Peter Williams and Rawdon Christie promoting the book. Demonstrating the art of Southern mainland humility combined with lethal rugby smarts prose, his interview follows.

On the late rugby icon Jock Hobbs father of rugby’s young Michael Hobbs, McCaw said: “He was hugely special man to me. I am so pleased he got to see the fruits and see the all blacks win. The man and the fight he had, he’s amazing. I was a bit choked up.”

That’s gotta be one of the saddest things that happened at the time. A reminder to always look after your health and to love life, while competing in the school of hard knocks.

On rugby in general at the World Cup winning stage 2011: “You have to ask yourself, can i go out and do my job? Can i go out and do what i need to do? I am lucky to have a go. Learn own lessons rather than what you can’t control. It’s the men who are beside you, that you gotta trust [when pained and] your body is on the line.”

Masterful, honest nice writing.

Also reporting live from One Tree Hill this morning in live cross segments, from an iconic landmark of Auckland City was New Zealand’s Got Talent MC Tamati Coffey with life lessons on respecting one’s parents more and remembering your mom’s birthdays too. Photo: Education MOE & Ian Rushton.

KING TUHEITIA PAKI, THE MAORI KING COMMEMORATES HIS GRANDFATHER, KING KOROKI’S CORONATION, WITH A RIVER WAAKA JOURNEY

King Tuheitia the Maori King, commemorated the anniversary of his grandfather’s coronation and put the spotlight back on Maori water rights with a  journey down Waikato River this morning.

King Tuheitia travelled in a waka taua from Ngaruawahia to Waahi marae at Huntly. The fifth Maori king, King Koroki, was crowned on October 8, 1933.

The annual Waahi marae poukai is traditionally held on this date and  King Tuheitia opened the event with the river journey – an act that also aimed to show the tribe’s cultural and spiritual connection to the Waikato River in the wake of controversy surrounding the rights and  interests of Maori to freshwater and the Government’s proposal to sell state-owned assets.

Tribal leaders from throughout Tainui, as well as Maori leaders playing a  key role in progressing freshwater rights at the national level  accompanied King Tuheitia.

Today’s discussion at Waahi marae is  expected to include the freshwater rights issue, following the recent  national hui held at Turangawaewae marae.

ROD STEWART’S NEW BOOK TALKS UP THE VIRTUES OF RACHEL HUNTER’S STELLAR KIWI STAR

Photo caption: Whirlwind romance - Rod Stewart and Rachel Hunter on their wedding day in  December 1990 – just three months after they met.

Bitter sweet romance reflections of a rock star: In a frank new book, rock crooner, Rod Stewart describes how Rachel Hunter’s decision to leave him threw him into four months of crippling despair.

Rod Stewart has spoken with painful honesty about his marriage to model Rachel Hunter confessing that their eight-year relationship was the first in which he had been faithful to one woman.

In his sensational new book Rod: The Autobiography the star describes how Rachel’s decision to leave him threw him into four months of crippling despair, during which he had to seek therapy and lost 5.44kg.

Stewart was a 45-year-old millionaire when they met in 1990, famous for a string of glamorous girlfriends and Seventies pop anthems Maggie May and Do Ya Think I’m Sexy?

But marriage to blonde 21-year-old Hunter transformed the hard-living rocker into a devoted family man. Hunter was too down-to-earth to feel comfortable in the lavish lifestyle of an established global star. (more…)

FILM FRANCHISE PRODUCTION GROWTH NEW ZEALAND – INVESTING IN KIWI WRITERS & SCREENWRITERS IS THE KEY

There is nothing more powerful than ideas whose time has come.

Victor Hugo.

There is nothing more powerful than ideas whose time has come,
filmed on landscapes that are resources rich. ImagiNATIVE writers are the world's first
architects of a future new world and new frontier.

–The way of global film sales marketing patterns observed over a few years now.

The pen is mightier than the sword.

Winston Churchill as a writer, storyteller, peace maker and boozy warrior leader.

Developing a sustainable film industry in New Zealand really comes down to investing in New Zealand writers more and fostering relationships with the world’s best screenwriters too. It is vital that New Zealand encourages writers, as writers become the billionaires after all the effort has gone into producing successful film franchises. We need some Maori billionaires in New Zealand. Maybe some could write their way into the history books invisaging a cinematic light to project the new way.

We must write films from New Zealand, as if we don’t other people’s written ideas of the South Pacific, will be written about our territory. So, it makes sense to always be writing our own version of the world and attaching our definitions and meanings of landscape of the South Pacific to our own words and ideas in our films. We can write futuristic films, yet the messages in them attached to our landscapes have a resonance all over the world for the good.

We have the locations and enough filmmaking capability now in New Zealand. We just need better scripts, film franchise ideas created in New Zealand and a belief in fast tracking screen-writers to a global level of writing ability. Film crews travel (actors included) to where whoever has the best ideas - to collaborate on – film projects of significance.

New Zealand is soon to become that place even more so, then we have been already on some major film projects.

So what kinds of writers could happen in New Zealand? As a precursor to Mitt Romney‘s rise in politics as a star figure for the US, novelist Stephenie Meyer was a Mormon housewife of Arizona, who mimicked the UK’s JK Rowlings star template as a novelist.

Meyer’s story as a humble writer is one of a stand out success for relativiely new billionaires. Meyer’s novel ideas, even created a brand new studio to make her novels into films. It was then aquired by Lionsgate to import a strong youth audience following into Lionsgate’s entertainment brand.

The young actors cast in Meyer’s films now lead California’s box office (Kristen Stewart being one). JK of course, mimicked Brit authors like C.S Lewis and JRR Tolkien to find her own voice as a single parent writer. Magic was JK’s theme of children learning at school. Meyer’s was a voice of fantasy, romance, angst – youth under threat. Meyer’s creative literary bent, was a huge hit.

What this tells us: Perhaps we need to invest in single parents and-or Kiwi housewives more. (more…)

BRITISH ROYAL SENNA KOWHAI LEWIS NEWS – FAMILY TREE IS BRANCHING OUT

Senna Kowhai‘s Maori side of the young British Royals whanau (family) tree, is branching out.

Senna’s father is Gary Lewis of Gisborne, East Coast New Zealand. His wife, the lovely Lady Davina have named their young son who was born on May 25th 2012, Tane Mahuta.  It is a solid Maori name drawn from ancient Maori mythological culture and legend of Aotearoa New Zealand.

Baby Tane Mahuta is also brother to Ari Lewis, Gary’s son from a previous marriage and as mentioned Senna, now 2. Gary is from a Kiwi shearer family and he has a building company management background. Lady Davina… her family… is pretty famous. :)

The youngest Lewis is twenty-sixth in line to the British throne.

A cute story fusing local and British heritage.

New Zealand Woman’s Weekly specialize in Royal news in New Zealand. Read up at the tabloid’s website.

About the young Royal’s name in Maori mythology: As legend told, “Tāne is the son of Ranginui the sky father and Papatuanuku, the earth mother.

Tāne separates his parents from their marital embrace until his father the sky is high above mother earth. Tāne then sets about clothing his mother with vegetation. The birds and the trees of the forest are regarded as Tāne’s children.”

It’s a story that reminds us of how the living elements of the environment are one family connected between earth and sky in relationship.

FRANCOIS HOLLANDE PRESENTS SIR PAUL McCARTNEY WITH LEGION D’HONNEUR AWARD FOR A LIFE OF ROCK MUSIC SONGWRITING

People who write sing-a-longs are kinda spesh. Here’s a story. I often wondered why Robbie Williams had never broken into the U.S music market. In concert, Robbie is the best example of a Brit rocker-entertainer whose fans sing-a-long to all of his songs. In fact, in concert it is not uncommon for Robbie to just start a song. His fans sing it, while Robbie acts as band conductor listening to his fans sing his music.

Easy money and well deserved. The craft of simple yet effective tunes people can sing to.  One of Williams mentors, of course is Sir Paul McCartney of The Beatles.

On that note, Miriam Coleman of Rolling Stone Magazine reported: Sir Paul McCartney became an officer of France’s Legion of Honour on Saturday in a private ceremony at the Élysée Palace in Paris. French president Francois Hollande joked that he preferred the Beatles to the Rolling Stones.

“It is such an honor to be awarded this,” McCartney said of France’s appreciation for his contribution to music. Hollande also joked that he preferred McCartney over bandmate John Lennon. Liza Minnelli, Lenny Kravitz, Laurence Olivier and Miles Davis are a list of other non-French nationals to have received the award in yester-years.

A vintage classic ballad of The Beatles, written for all the children of the world. Here’s Hey Jude.

RENEE STEWART ROCK ROYALTY MODEL STAR

Model Star Light: Just like her mother, Rod Stewart and Rachel Hunter’s daughter Renee Stewart stands out from the crowd even in her casual outfit.

Renee, 18, is already making a name for herself in the modelling industry. Wearing next to no make-up, and with her light brown hair left loose around her face, Renee is clearly a natural beauty.

KATE MIDDLETON’S TABLE TENNIS TRAIL DOES WELL IN ONLINE PING PONG HITS

With the weight of the world on her shoulders, Britain’s Kate Middleton, still found the time to kick off her shoes this week. Kate even grabbed a ping pong paddle in a fierce game of table tennis. With all of those camera’s zeroing in on Kate, I don’t know how Kate does it?!

Even if she was wearing a hessian potato sack on top of Mt Zion, Jerusalem or in Pukekohe, Kate would still look all tickety boo.

Looking on the net, in the social media online games of the Olympics (what everyone’s really following in between non-Olympics news), Kate hasn’t done a shabby effort so far on the Brit-Brit celebrity stakes either. She’s worth her weight in gold for elite sports events promotion duties.

The last I played a game of ping pong was in Beverly Hills with a Chinese-American-Samoan friend. Of course, I got totally whopped in three games. Go figure!

The model Brit has chalked up some good press online so far.

More of Middleton’s sporting trail, social media heat via broadband and wifi web hits at JustJared Hollywood gossip website. (The best!).

JEFFREY PAUL DELISLE IS CAUGHT UP IN A NAVY ESPIONAGE SCANDAL

Who gets the best party tickets at the Olympics? Nations with the best water supplies, food and oil and gas. For good measure, nations with the best gossip too. Here’s one of those tales.

So, over my hardy, stodgy porridge breakfast, I learn that New Zealand is juggling an espionage scandal as well as trying to solve our unemployment sector. I don’t know how we do it, but we take it all in our stride?

Anyway the espionage scandal involves Canadian naval officer Jeffrey Paul Delisle, who allegedly while on government pay roll, decided to be like Facebook, Twitter, Apps (and other social media companies). Shock horro! He traded secrets to another government. Namely Russia. Well say this isn’t so?!. (more…)

OLYMPICS SECURITY TIGHTENS AIR SPACE – GARTH BRAY INTERVIEWS LORD SEBASTIAN COE ON LONDON OLYMPICS 2012

Kiwi journalist Garth Bray explains how Britain is ensuring a safe Olympic Games 2012. Mo’ military is the plan. In addition air space above London’s CBD has been closed. “Lethal force” will ensue any plane that fudge these rules.

Bray also interviewed Lord Sebastian Coe whose “ecstatic” the Games are occurring in London. Coe’s picks for best sports watches this Olympics are track and field, equestrian and boxing.

As a kid my Maori mom would wake us up to watch Seb Coe run in the Olympics. His four Olympic medals, that included the 1500 metres gold medal at the Olympic Games in 1980 and 1984 were the moments that made sports exciting for young people in New Zealand. He also set eight outdoor and three indoor world records in middle distance track events. This included a world record relay race. Steve Ovett and Steve Cram his middle distance racing rivals ensured audiences returned to the TV every time Coe raced.

Mr Peter Williams has the Olympics story.
