IT’S OKAY NOT TO BE LIKED…
I haven’t been on FaceBook in a year at least, yet this headline deserves a mention: FB boss – the more success women have, the least likely they’ll get followers on the site. More importantly… why is FB at Davos? oh right… it’s a investment watch thing now.
there’s other things to do in life like: listen to ten pieces of classical music. This list put together by le geek l’anglaise a la musique:
1: Hildegard von Bingen: Ave, Generosa
2: John Dowland: Flow my tears (pub. 1600)
3: JS Bach: St Matthew Passion (1727)
4: Mozart Serenade ‘Gran Partita’, iii Adagio (1781) (more…)

SATELLITE HUMBLE – BEYONCE’S ONLINE SOCIAL MEDIA, MERCHANDISING MARKETING STRATEGIES AMP UP 2013
Beyonce Knowles is a bit of a merch marketing empire. The Houston native, NYC dwelling diva not only blogs, instagrams too, she’s also launched BeyHive. Kinda Austin Powers funny. It’s a website ”through my eyes,” the singer-dancing-athlete says. Artwork of fans is what the site features (Americans go overboard for creating pop art tributes to their most loved stars, in a way nz doesn’t yet know how to, or care to much either). Interesting ideas Beyonce is loving or being inspired by also make the site.
The singer’s fan base in New Zealand is strong. We’ll be in the mode to “stay tuned” for sure. Why we like her? Her sister is funny on twitter. I’ve been a big fan of Solange too since Sol-Angel started on social media as a pioneer of it, way back when. A beautiful creative artist with words and cultural expression in quite an understated cleva way. Non stop cleva. (more…)

FACEBOOK CULTURE, TUMBLR WEBSITE & BEING YOUR OWN CALM COACH
this is not an einstein moment: A European study reveals FaceBook culture can incite envy. The website is said to be laden with envy. I haven’t logged into FB for over a year, last time I did, I was getting notes laden with envy, so I just decided… nah! Keep creating this website, instead.
Why is that? Well FB is celebrity driven. Celebrities are constructs. Messangers for sponsors. (more…)

PEOPLE. TWEET. GOLDEN GLOBES – MAKING CLIMATE CHANGE ADVOCACY FASHIONABLE CONSCIOUSLY
Social media. Film. Events. Stars: It is true… People. Tweet. Golden Globes.
In the US it’s the no.1 thing to do at this time.
The entire year of film’s best movies, critics words, journalists work, audience perceptions and collation via social media platforms, will all be reduced to one image. What image are a billion or so people in a race to see?
It most probably will be (as it has, the last few major movie prize shows): Christina Hendricks if she turns up this year.
Or a star of similar look to Christina will rock the gig.
Because that’s the way, these shows tend to go, perhaps Christina Hendricks should be a future trade advocate in how to reduce the greed of fossil fuels over-useage and climate change’s rising heat effects.
It might help raise awareness on the issue, using the Globes as a platform to do so.
For example, Al Gore got that Oscar that time on global warming.
He went on to start a US news TV station and then he went on to onsell it to Qatar billionaires.
How that links to climate change… no one was all that sure of last week, yet a Qatar focus on news, helps reduce war in the Mid-East and the world.
Reducing war, also can help reduce rising climate change effects. (more…)

NEWS VIEWS OF PROBLEM SOLVING – WORLD NEWS 14.1.13
Problem solving is what journalists try and present as views in the news. News is a science. It steers economic flows some peoples way, more so over others. It should also be democratic, why news is important to watch in your own country. After that, your trading allies outside of your country.
The theory behind a news hour done right… is that real issues are presented and solutions are found to solve situations. Airing the story, is a part of that process of news. A story aired is an issue shared, thus an issue on its way to be solved as it is now in public consciousness. That is the theory behind the info-entertainment age of the news hour today. It’s exciting as news now can be commented about instantly. Thus the ball is moved forward within seconds of going to air by an active, involved public each with access to media platforms of their own, to share opinion on news.
Once a story is aired, many different peoples minds then add to the mix. The minds get thinking and the combined thought gleaned, act as a laser effect cutting through situations ahead. Truth has a life of its own. It doesn’t matter if people see a tweet, a blog post on Tumblr, or a Facebook upload on “truth” or not.
Truth will activate anyone’s expression of it. Truth is a magnet to truth. A principle of good working in the world, greater than us all. Journalists try and live to tell the truth in just countries. No matter how hard that process is. That is why I like good journalists, personally. I have been an entertainment journalist before. You’ve got to be strong. It’s a media scrum out there if reporting in large cities of the world. (more…)

RACHEL HUNTER’S 2012 WAS A FREAKING INCREDIBLE YEAR FOR NEW ZEALAND REALITY TV CULTURE
“She sounded all a bit LA and a bit weird,” now she’s not. A NZ commentator explains why 40 is the new 20 as long as E.L James keeps selling her books at the rate she has been. :)
The truth is, in Kiwiland we love our blonde celebrities as well as our brunettes. Summer is blonde beach babes time to shine.
No one does that better than Rachel Hunter and young Jaime Ridge (think Shiloh Jolie-Pitt grown up). A second generation star, in the same way that Renee Stewart, also rates well on this website regularly. They just have star heat. Hot naturally, like tobasco. Sorta. :)
Nice to see NZ celebrity growing up in the limelight well. In addition you can’t go past Senna Kowhai either, a Maori kid whose also of Brit royalty persuasion too.
Rachel Hunter had a huge year. (more…)

DIGITAL SCRAPBOOKS COULD TURN TWEETERS INTO AUTHORS
A cool idea for Tribe Twitter of a 200 million-strong community of tweeters is the digital scrapbook feature. The feature dates back to 2006, allowing tweeters an archive of their best work. I think it’s fantastic.
Twitter scrapbook books… (the best of)… could be hot with Hollywood celebs in the fast-moving world of publishing.
