Q. What happens if you remark that Ashley Judd’s kanohi (face) is puffier than usual?
A. You discover that Judd has been on prescribed steroids to help her get through an illness. You also discover she doesn’t appreciate the obsession with body image, imposed on her (former) image as a camera ready star – and an even more obsessive negative media reaction to the exact same person, whose now a bit puffier.
In an interesting blog post Judd uses her platform and experience to blast the media about constructing ‘the perfect’ myth of beauty. Here’s what AshleyJudd blogged about today:
“Consequently, I choose to address it because the conversation was pointedly nasty, gendered, and misogynistic and embodies what all girls and women in our culture, to a greater or lesser degree, endure every day, in ways both outrageous and subtle. The assault on our body image, the hypersexualization of girls and women and subsequent degradation of our sexuality as we walk through the decades, and the general incessant objectification is what this conversation allegedly about my face is really about.”
Fair comments. Normally, having a coffee with Sean Diddy Combs could have done the same thing in a more humorous way. Especially if Diddy had agreed to wear a fat suit. But no, Judd must have been in a political mood today, blogging this instead.
There’s just so much more to Judd than her thin-face look anyways. Like, her kick-arse ‘tude for example, put to good use.

Today was a sad day in Hollywood. My late grandmother Elizabeth Cruickshank‘s (Lil’s) favorite Hollywood actress, Elizabeth Taylor, passed away aged 79. She died of congestive heart failure. The full statement of this fine ambassador of humanitarian arts and culture was read by her son Michael Wilding Jr. It reads as follows via US Magazine:
The two-time Oscar winner and humanitarian “was an extraordinary woman who lived life to the fullest, with great passion, humor and love. Though her loss is devastating to those of us who held her so close and so dear, we will always be inspired by her enduring contribution to our world. Her remarkable body of work in film, her ongoing success as a businesswoman and her brave and relentless advocacy in the fight against HIV/AIDS all make us all incredibly proud of what she accomplished. We know, quite simply, that the world is a better place for Mom having lived in it. Her legacy will never fade, her spirit will always be with us, and her love will live forever in our hearts.”
What a nice way to remember one’s mother. Elizabeth Taylor was a Hollywood Queen. In Hollywood entertainment news you voted today, here’s our top ten on Horiwood.Com. Thanks people.

Her last text was: “Every breath you take today, should be with someone else in mind.”
Because these words are true. Here’s a pic as a reminder of Elizabeth Taylor’s great legacy.

Sean Diddy Combs turned 40. So did Sesame Street and Bert and Ernie. Here’s the news about Sesame Street‘s 40th birthday milestone.
Two of television’s most famous roommates, Bert and Ernie, were the only muppets created by Jim Henson to appear in the pilot episode of “Sesame Street” 40 years ago. Ernie was originally performed by Henson and his affectionate song about his squeaky toy duck, “Rubber Duckie,” became a modest hit, reaching No. 16 on the Billboard chart. Bert’s friendship with a pigeon named Bernice spawned the dance, “Doin’ the Pigeon.” Here are some of the other famous faces that have appeared on “Sesame Street” in the past four decades. Let’s see if Diddy and these two guys can collaborate on a new song and dance for this generation of children as they hit 40. In New Zealand 40 is still viewed as being very young. It’s about the age, where you might now have something valuable to say.

While Diddy is throwing $3 million parties in NYC, Solange Knowles is throwing zero-budget parties in her flat. According to her tweets.
She’s a funny girl. Apparently, her party rocked during the AMA’s. The things a princess does to amuse herself, before she wins her first Soul Train Award later this month. Solange is a riot!

I exist like a black chandelier to entertain is hip hop star and entrepreneur, Sean Diddy Combs manifesto as he spends $3 million on his halfway-point birthday party, Saturday.
Page 6 of the New York Post reports that: “the champagne-flooded 40th birthday bash had a fantasy Garden of Eden-themed room with a $30,000 orchid display, installed his own black dance floor and black chandeliers all throughout.
Diddy treated guests — including, Jay-Z, Nelly, Christy Turlington, Bono, Martha Stewart, Zac Posen and Denzel Washington–to a silver confetti-drop, courtesy of lighting wizard Bentley Meeker.
Highlight of the night was a performance by the Rev Al Green. Security was tight and even Tyrese Gibson and “Twilight’s” Kellan Lutz had to talk their way into the VIP area.
Sounds like fun was in the air. Don’t forget that the American Music Awards are tonight. Exciting entertainment with Janet Jackson taking center stage to start the awards. Great to see Diddy lift American music’s spirits this year with a good birthday bash.
