Salma Hayek is set to get back into the producing saddle to produce The Cisco Kid. The CBS drama series in development is a re-imagening of the iconic Latino character from the 50′s TV era in the USA. Salma Hayek will co-executive produce on the series with Lauren Shuler Donner (X-Men).
Written by Diego Gutierrez (The Shield), The Cisco Kid is a buddy general format in the mode of Lethal Weapon. It follows Cisco as he returns to Los Angeles after serving several tours as a Marine in Afghanistan.
After witnessing the murder of his dad, Cisco and his best friend – a fellow Marine, Sam, team up to solve the case and subsequently find themselves doing what the authorities can’t — defending the city’s oppressed.
Back in the day, The Cisco character also spawned radio shows, comic books. On TV, The Cisco Kid syndicated series starring Duncan Renaldo ran from 1950-56.
Hillary Clinton lets loose in South Africa - During the secretary of state’s latest trip she danced the night away at a dinner in Johannesburg. NBC’s Brian Williams reports. I love the Chinese silk jacket in South Africa as Hillary gets her bump and grind moves on.
Too funny!
[Empowered: Earlier in the day, Clinton appeared with Nkoana-Mashabane (right) and said that American efforts in South Africa have helped save hundreds of thousands of lives--UK Daily Mail].

Salma Hayak and Demi Moore perhaps need some more O’s in their jewelry. Lol!Alanis Morrissette and Souleye debut their baby son. Cute. I feel that some major guitar hero songwriting hits could be in this child’s range of talents! Don’t you?
Here’s ten things you’re sharing as culture in Hollywood right now via social media. Twitter, Facebook, Blog Hits, Email… you name it… you’re doing it.
Living in Hollywood means that cinematically we’re either cultured in that Black Swan ballet way this Oscars season. Or, we’re debating about governments’ shifting power via ‘more fun’ corporate agencies and forms (Facebook) acting as government for ‘whoever,’ in The Social Network‘s popularity with Academy voters this year. Such questions are being talked about with many young people in Hollywood, in that exact same manner. It is their banter at Cafes.
No one really understands why James Franco, is even hosting the Oscars this year – let alone even being nominated in the best actor section. That’s got everyone double scratching their heads, like – “whose he screwing?” is what the kids are wondering out loud today. Don’t worry, no one wants to really know. But they like James overall. He’s seen as a bit of a pawn. Sometimes funny in this role too.
Teens and twenty-somethings are always so honest. Perhaps the most critical Hollywood film audience of all.
Thankfully, Hollywood is also about light-hearted fun, minus dark themed wickedness in film. It’s almost like when the global economy lights were turned down to dim, politicians have been told that by encouraging more spooky film themes and twisted pop culture, that this will make politicians shine brighter as angelic heroes of the people. Please! It’s not working.
To escape all that, thankfully, we have the comedy genre.
Just a genre where to be too deep, too political, too clever is considered a yawn, because all movie goers want, is a good laugh. Comedy provides that.
While blogging yesterday, a total stranger said to me, “I want to be your friend forever, like in my favorite movie Grown Ups.” I thought that was one of the best offers of friendship I’d ever heard. Said in the spirit of this film, their humor made me laugh. As the film is now on Blue Ray dvd, let’s revisit its story line then:
“Just because you grow older doesn’t mean you have to grow up! Comedy superstars Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock, David Spade and Rob Schneider are at their hilarious and outrageous best playing childhood friends who once played in the same basketball team who reunite one holiday weekend to relive the good old days. It doesn’t matter that these five guys are now respectable businessmen, husbands and fathers. Once they get back together, nothing is going to stop these kids-at-heart from having the time of their adult lives in this hilarious and heartwarming film that proves men will be boys from the people who brought you Click.”
One must always take advice from a Kevin. So alright then, I have my ears on. Let’s lighten up a little, get funnier and remember to laugh our no-no’s off, because that’s what life should be about more, in the world. I don’t know if there’s more problems in the world for today’s youth to face and deal with on Facebook, or whether we’re now just more aware of any problem instantly in an internet mediated age. Sometimes we need to laugh too. Joy is strength. Let’s do it!

Salma Hayak and baby Valentina Poloma get their bikini holiday action on yesterday, when the curve-tastic actress hit the beach with her daughter in Saint Barthelemy. Good, wet beachside family fun. I love the idea of family fun beside the ocean water.
It is almost the end of the year. The beginning of a new one. Fresh starts! Yes. It’s sort of like, what have the last three years been about? So I think 2011 is going to be a good year. :)
Celebrities, entertainment topics, Hollywood antics you voted and liked today in our top ten, are as follows:
Christine O’Donnell is quoted saying: “At a speech Tuesday night in Virginia, Christine called Obama’s tax cut deal that included the extension of unemployment benefits a “tragedy” comparable to the attack on Pearl Harbor and the death of Elizabeth Edwards, The Hill reported.
“Tragedy comes in threes,” O’Donnell told the audience. “Pearl Harbor, Elizabeth Edwards’s passing and Barack Obama‘s announcement of extending the tax cuts but also extending the unemployment benefits,” she added. On Monday, the President and GOP leaders agreed to keep Bush-era tax cuts in place for all Americans for the next two years and extended jobless benefits for 13 months.
I don’t blame Obama’s government for the 9.8% unemployment rate currently, because I never created a job for anyone else, the last two years. How can I blame Obama for what I didn’t do? One year in the US, I was able to create a job for someone. The last two years, no.
This year, someone unexpectedly created a part time job that they offered me. The timing of the job could not have been better. For this person’s kindness, I will always be thankful. Their actionsare what I know of real America, and not what’s in magazines, but the stuff real people are made of here, who build community with sustained effort.
“She has a young Reese Witherspoonlook and fresh-faced appeal about her as a potential child-actor of the future in Hollywood”–Horiwood on Hinetaapora Short.
A Diverse View of Hollywood worthy new talent potential:
Should Hinetaaporo Short, 10, be cast as the next Milky Bar Kid!
One of this kid’s X-factors in the entertainment game already, is that Hinetaapora speaks Te Reo Rangatira – The Language of Chiefs - otherwise known as the Maori language of New Zealand) each day, at her Kura Kaupapa school in Roto-Vegas/ Rotorua, Hiobbit country.
Te Reo Rangatira is one of the two official languages that Middle Earth, New Zealand protects and speaks within its shores.
Should Hinetaapora be the Milky Bar Kid for chocolate makers Nestle? Heck yes! What a bilingual, intelligent and talented cutie pai. Adorable. The Milky Bar Kid is a New Zealand child’s ‘super hero’ figure of inspiring Adventure and fun adventuring activities with friends and community–the great Kiwi Way. Just like Hobbits represent such cultural heroes too. A Maori girl super hero? Heck yes! It’s time. What a splendid idea at updating Kiwi pop culture in the 2010′s.
Will Hinetaapora go on to appear in Hobbit in 3D films in Wellywood too and Hollywood? I hope so! She’s a doll.
Go honey! Mauri ‘Ola from Hollywood. Let’s hope Hinetaapora can sign on to the same Hollywood agent as Oscar nominee, Keisha Castle Hughes. My Hollywood agent recommend though for Hinetaapora’s Hollywood acting hopes, is agent: Steve Dontanville. –the agent behind Reese Witherspoon’s acting career in Reese’s initial early years until two years before Reese won her Oscar.
Imagine Hinetaapora Short in a 3D action adventure film? Could she be another Reese Witherspoon, with the potential to win an Oscar too? Only time will tell. But, go kotiro tutu! I love her chutzpah. This kid has spirit. She’s off to a good start at ten years-of-age.

UPDATE: Hinetaapora Short is on the Nestle casting team’s Top Ten Short List at this minute. Go honey! You have Hollywood’s big tick approval. The gorgeous Hinetaapora short is a descendant of the Te Whanau a Hinetaaporo subtribe (Haapu) of Ngati Porou. She also descends from the Te Arawa iwi of Aotearoa/ New Zealand. The same tribe as famed and globally-loved entertainer, the late Sir Howard Morrison. The son of a Maori All Black rugby football star, Temuera Morrison , Sir Howard’s song My Old Man’s An All Black - combated and addressed apartheid in South Africa back in the day. He’s still a legend in hearts and minds today. Good Kiwi Ambassadors and proven entertainment stock are the performance artists of this tribe. They do the right things with their fame for noble humanitarian causes.
Hinetaapora’s Te Arawa tribe are watched by globe-trotting visitors to New Zealand, every day of the week in Rotorua City when they perform live daily as consummate and gifted entertainers. They star in musical theater showcases daily and have been practicing mau rakau (traditional Maori martial arts) for over a thousand years in New Zealand on Mokoia Island. As warriors in performance, they are New Zealand’s indigenous action stars. Very similar to Japanese samurai or Old-World warriors of the Chinese Empire dynasty too. Sir Howard, their much loved late Entertainer king, is pictured wearing his cowboy hat above.
Courage to imagine, see and be true to… yourself.
Message to H.S: Mihi atu ki a koe Hinetaapora… are you practicing your American accent and learning Chinese each morning for Hong Kong filmmaking, 3D action movie/ co-productions in future years, before school? Hope so! Ka rawe! Tino pai kē! Kid, you’re too much! :)

Because Lady Gaga was unavailable today (she’s filming her “hot like Mexico” music video here in LA, reflecting back the same message from the City of Angels instead) the beautiful Beyonce Knowleswas seen heading to The White House to sing this evening, Wednesday 19th May 2010.
Mexico’s President Felipe Calderon and first lady Margarita Zavala are guests of honor for the Obamas. Mexican duo Rodrigo y Gabriela and the United StatesMarine Band are singing too.
Sounds a bit like… this blog (allegedly!!!)… a bigger blast than oil rigs exploding off the Coast of Mexico’s Gulf in flames! Love it.
And what really irks me, is that inspite of some of the most exciting people in the world, being present at this prestigious dinner party tonight… that Carlos Slim Helu, the richest bloke in the world, (and Mexico’s other president who owns most of Mexico’s infrastructure and telecommunications too) couldn’t even be bothered turning up.
When you have two of America’s #1 divas of pop, warbling a lesbian Telephone pop song, and all of these power players at the table too–that must have been a little bit disappointing, not to have Carlos present.
His biz model is one that America should adapt asap to aid America’s economy quicker. Slim Helu knows a thing or ten about how to make a buck. Fixing the immigration laws could help a little, in Arizona though, to get his attention. No one likes a strained welcome. But perhaps next dinner party, the Obamas will be successful.
That was America today, pretty much.

Ridley Scott is a great filmmaker and his latest offering Robin Hood even brought a fashion billionaire’s wife and Hollywood superstar, Salma Hayek out onto Cannes red carpet to support the film.

Fashion King Francois Henri-Pinault and actress Salma Hayak are very proud of their daugther Paloma Valetina Pinault.
“She speaks three languages,” the actress said at the A Bid to Save the Earth Green Auction, held Wednesday at Christie’s.
Henri-Pinault added, “She’s [speaking] fluently — English, Spanish and French. She can have a conversation,” the PPR CEO told PEOPLE Moms & Babies. “It’s amazing how fast it comes,” Pinault notes. “She’s teaching French to her mother.”
How cute. Paloma is 2 1/2 years of age. She sounds like she’s being raised in a tight-knit family unit, where both of her parents are about family, for their child. In this current celebrity environment, what a great message to send their peers.
