“At the coral reef, the beach tide was low like the flat Injun prairie plains of Boise, Idaho.”–Horiwood, a novel.
“You don’t have to be a fantastic hero to do certain things – to compete. You can be just an ordinary chap, sufficiently motivated. It is not the mountain we conquer but ourselves.”–Sir Edmund Hilary‘s humility as wisdom in Hollywood.
What’s up with this picture? It’s like when the cast of Mad Menwent for berry martinis at The Abbey with the Hollywood Maori Harry Potterblogger guy, on the way to the Arclight theater to see a film with hobbits in it in 3D. That’s too many alluvial-intellectual levels of a horticulturalists nation’s, pop cultural quircke.
Anyways, in more simpler news. Ten Hollywood entertainment news posts, you’re sharing as culture right here on Horiwood.Com via social media are:
Claim to Fame: Brother of Jakey Davis. He is also a fine rugby football player and a super basketball representative too with a good academic record.
Hallmarks at this early stage: From a compassionate community-minded family. Learning how to be a team player. Pride in Kaupapa Maori traditions and knowledge both IQ and EQ. Grandson of current community leaders. And this young guy is a friend of teen parent moms too. Not bad so far!
Hollywood Comment: And who is using more hair product than both Taylor Lautnerand Justin Bieber put together, with mo tumeke staunch-pouting going on than tuakana Cliff Curtis in a 3D action movie role or brotha Taika Cohen in that Boy movie… in his high school leadership photos, then aye? Mr Maori Kiwi-Staunch. Congratulations Louis III.
Kia kaha. Be wise. Be yourself. Lead. :)

Kalani Jones(L) of Auckland – The Supercity poses with Lani.
The Samoan-Kiwi hottie looks like her late grandmother, Aunty Maina Werne-Jones - a lady who died in Kenya while on safari, and who had the distinction of having the second most-attended funeral in New Zealand history in 1997 of a Kiwi not born in the green paradise nation. As a woman of Samoa with Mana in The South Pacific, Maina Werne-Jones was down to earth, heavenly-minded, loving and much loved.
Aunty Maina as she was affectionately known, is still sorely missed by Auckland City, Samoa and throughout The Pacific today. Her laugh was magic. She laughed a lot, always sharing her smile and joie de vie with a rare gift of joyful encouragement.
Kalani also looks like her gorgeous momma, Judi Jones. Kalani’s dad, Derek Jones can be found here with Judi, doing their bit providing Samoan-Kiwi flava and inspiration at a transitional time for Porirua City leadership in Wellywood – Hollywood’s sister-city for 3D film making expertise.
Porirua is currently in the middle of a surprise bi-election, as the US Secretary of State Hilary Rodham Clintonhas just recently touched down in Wellywood, a film making nation’s capitol city, at the time of writing from Hollywood. There’s a lot going on in New Zealand right now. It’s a hot diverse entertainment nation, destination.
At the top, of the North Island of New Zealand, Kalani lives in Auckland, The Supercity of this beautiful paradise-green nation.
If you live in Hollywood and follow Herman-Town’s Young Hollywood promotions expertise, you will know that Ms Kim Kardashian is styling and dressing America’s style conscious twenty-somethings, right now, here in the USA. Nationwide in the USA, Kim is currently doing this online 24 hours a day, with a skillful style package that consults and customizes fashion accessories to each individual customer. Smart.
.
Kim Kardashian is perhaps the only A-Listed reality TV Star in Hollywood, who is also a fashion merchandising mogul on the rise. If Kalani is like Kim Kardashian, I’m all for that. The world needs a Samoan-Kiwi style-queen I reckon. Especially one of Spirit — like Kalani Jones possesses, naturally. Check out Kim’s online biz ventures with Hollywood entertainment power-lawyer Robert Shapiro –at Shoe Dazzle. Amazin! They’re taking over stylish retail for the young in America–via their online storefront window instead. It’s a Kardashian underground movement of taste and style blitzing the USA.
.
Kalani Jones is rugby royalty of New Zealand, Samoa and the Commonwealth Affiliated Nations and Oceania Nations of the World. She is the niece of a rugby player who England’s Will Carling listed in the UK Telegraph as being the no.2 rugby footballer in the world of all time. Kalani’s father Derek, is also a good rugby footballer too.
.
As a future rising star of New Zealand & The South Pacific – Kalani Jones has got it all going on in her star mix and this kid loves God too. Not a bad combo for grounded balance to balance out the craziness of fame that lies ahead of her, I reckon. Go kid! If ever there was a girl in New Zealand worthy of a reality TV series of her own, to weave in a stellar cast of characters who surround her in everyday life, Kalani Jones is one such star of great potential to lead, entertain, inspire her generation. Oh… btw:

[Music: Sun Goes Down - Nesian MystiK & Luther Vandross tribute to Lena Horne going up too as a homage for Aunty Maina Jones' legacy as a humanitarian activist of Compassion & Love--Hollywood today.]

Let’s go Auckland. Porirua City & Let’s go SAMOA! Mauri ‘Ola.
This post going via Kalani’s Maori Aunties of Oak Ridge Camp, Whangarei City, Northland via The City of Angels & “Uncle Sam” born in Fiji, and I guess… your Uncle Derek Farmer (and Farmer Brotherhood) too – now of Australia. In the words of Avatarin 3D: We see you! :)
.
Reality TV Series Idea: Kalani goes to Wellywood (Porirua).
Heading in to the Grey Lnn festival 2010, this one’s for US.
All men are created equal – Abraham Lincoln
Because we are equal, isn’t it time for Maori, Polynesian, Asian-Kiwi’s turn to lead with an expression unique for US all–Horiwood*

Quote on making the prestigious football squad – “Making this squad is the first step, but I still have to prove myself.”
Brotha! You are Hollywood, California approved. Sports needs entertainers.
Let’s go NYC! NZ! Cali! Action sports commerce stars are US.
Zoo York poetic politics today & Music by Nesian Mystik,
Poetic vibe: We sing of overcoming injustice, we sing of sharing, we sing of community, we sing of faith, we sing of never forgetting our roots of our Polynesian ghetto fairy tales and all we learned in these times. Our parents lying awake afraid at early Dawn light in Otara and Porirua, for the knock of the police on front and back doors. Or Aunties assembled in community of make-shift marae at Bastion Point, standing like noble warriors in our once ‘criminalness’ on our own land … For the longest time we have been cast kind of like Robin Hood heroesreally, when you look at world politics and history.
Maybe our white brothers, saved us up to mull like fine Maori and Polynesia, vitner’s wine belonging to beautiful Aotearoa/ New Zealand. If so, their foresight was good. Their infrastructure needed. Now, we are required to be poured like the best wine, in this decade and the one’s beyond for all of our people. Not one excluded.
Colorful bouquet, nuanced cultures so rich, we are fine wine, a healing balm for the world. We have awoken to discover that the world has rapidly changed, suddenly – like Sonny Bill, switching codes and coming out on top last week, we find ourselves too at the world’s center, not by anything we did. But we are ready. Thanks Sonny Bill and coach Graham Henry for an important paradigm shift, an inspiring message of change, with one new team selection – and recognizing this global trend and what Maori and Polynesia have to offer the world forward.
*I think of “olive” as a color to ponder, like Ata Te Kanawa wrote about, being the future face of New Zealand. I think of olive’s (the food) eaten in the Middle East and Mediterranean alike. May this metaphor of peace, an “olive” be the pride and dignity of a teamwork spirit of equally shared mana, that defines the Kiwi spirit, vision, ability to serve, and our humor that can entertain, like few can. May what we have, be a healing balm in the Middle East too – like an olive branch we always extend. May the same attractant to heal and entertain also be commercially sought after from New York and California alike. Zoo York Nesian-Kiwis, let’s go. New wine time. From California, I feel your Kiwi spirit.

With a blend of sophisticated Island influences, Nesian Mystik‘s music would sit equally well on Obama‘s iPod in the White House or Oval Office, as well as throughout any South Pacific Island or on any marae in New Zealand too.
These Kiwi lads have subtle hori-nesian flow. Enjoy.

America’s #1 triple threat entertainer,Beyonce is currently vacationing with Jay-Z and family in beautiful Hawaii. That inspired me to re-run Polynesian boy band, Nesian Mystik‘s unique sounding, coco-licious music hit, Kiss Me ‘Til The Sun Goes Down. Hope you like it… they make you feel like you’re on vacation in Hawaii or the laid back, tropical Islands of the South Pacific when you listen to them. Love them!
This image of Mr Crowes block buster achieving Hollywood star represents the moment in Hollywood history where the first person of Maori descent and lineage, Russell Crowe was awarded his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Exciting!

Hawaii and the South Pacific‘s favorite Polynesian boyband, Nesian Mystik have produced another unique hit, titled Sun Goes Down to reflect life– Island styles. These lads met in music class in high school, and they have been making music now on the charts for over a decade. High school has never ended for them. A good story.
Polynesian hip hop inflects the uke with Marley’-esque reggae off-beat Carribean hip hop rhythms, with a touch of Island swing. Totally love these boys! Malo! And, Aloha Hawaii from Hollywood in the mainland.

It’s a case of “follow the leader” as the reigning box office king of Tinsel Town who created Avatar speaks… these days. Being Maori and living in Hollywood, I’m loving it! :)
Say’s film auteur, James Cameron, of the amazing Maori language of New Zealand and Polynesia in this latest interview:
”Paul Frommer is a linguistics expert at USC, and we hired him to create a language,” James Cameron says. ”He riffed off the 30 or so character names, place names, and creature names that I had come up with. They had a little bit of a Polynesian/Maori influence because of some time I had spent in New Zealand and in other places throughout Polynesia. So he used some Polynesian roots — but there’s also some African, there’s Native American, there’s even some bits from the Latin languages — and then he mixed it all up with German sentence construction, where the verb comes last. From an acting standpoint, the hard part was speaking English with a Na’vi accent. Zoë Saldana had the most lines, so we let her create the accent, and then everybody had to match her.”
For all you Avatar fans who want to know how the real Maori lads of Polynseia and the Pacific Islands roll. When we party, we kind of party like this in our hood… always about others, the collective and community… never solo.
Here’s some vintage Nesian Mystik old school, boy band sounds for your entertainment from Hollywood today. Chaa! Let’s pop it. Maoris and Poly boys are in the hot mix of the Hollywood house today. You know it! These lads a big hit in Hawaii, USA. Like James Cameron, Island dwelling people love Maoris and Polynesians. Enjoy. ;)

Nesian Mystik are the world’s favorite Polynesian hip hop boy band of great artists.
Think Ukulele sounds of Hawaii and the South Pacific meeting the Native American Indian peoples sense of tribal community to get a sense of who Nesian Mystik are with their musical sound.
They are from New Zealand and they rock. Here’s their song Brothaz (with a Z okay!!!) Enjoy! :)
I love these guys. Great music always. Hawaii loves them too. They are big stars in the US in Hawaii.

My favorite Polynesian hip hop brother veterans, Nesian Mystik are in the Horiwood Haus tonight in Los Angeles.
These lads music is tropical sweet, like coconut cream steamed buns for the soul, found on Oa’ahu’s West Coast side.
Lead singer Awanui Reader is a hori Maori brotha like me, who drops it Hawaiian styles. Sounding good fellahs in LA. Thanks for the Island chill hobbit music. :)
