As previously envisaged, a product line going to China would be ideal. What would it need to make it stand out? Or be supported more to make a good dent in the world’s no.1 economy by the year 2016 in the nation that has 1/6th of the world’s population too?

1. We need to create a culture around the product line.
2. A loyalty club will be created and rewarded of the product line.

Creative Blue Print Planning – Our Families 1st Million Generating p.a Business Idea – Part II.
When I last wrote on this idea, it grew out of a brainstorming session with niece 2 at our family table over lunch at the folks’ place. On the first chat (that then became the first planning session notes) we made a fair start.
What else must we do to evolve our product line to it’s $20 million capacity earning potential in 10 years time?
1. We need to brainstorm all of our product ideas in more detail. Cross reference with market research too.
2. Collate the best concepts (ideas) into groupings, like a product line.
3. Decide on the leader (the key signifer, or the diamond centre piece of the line).
4. The remaining products, what will be their roll out after the first product (or product grouping) is launched. (more…)

SPIELBERG WILL BRING MOSES TO LIFE FOR WARNER BROTHERS

Nikki Finke reports that Hollywood is getting ready to retell the biblical story of Moses in a big way. In fact, Hollywood’s Steven Spielberg is said to be accepting the directorial role on this epic film project with relish.
Wrote Deadline Hollywood in a breaking news exclusive, yesterday: “Steven Spielberg is near to etching in stone with Warner Bros on that biopic portraying the Jewish leader, Moses, as the warrior to beat all warriors. With a working title of Gods And Kings, what’s envisioned is “a movie like a Braveheart-ish version of the Moses story,” an insider tells us. “Him coming down the river, being adopted, leaving his home, forming an army, and getting the Ten Commandments.” And despite the awesome screen possibilities of the parting of the Red Sea, the movie isn’t being contemplated in 3D. Back in 1956, Paramount released The Ten Commandments in VistaVision to give moviegoers a more spectacular experience of scenes like that. But this film is as far from a remake of the Cecile B. DeMille-directed epic as you can get even though they cover similar ground. Instead Warner Bros wants Spielberg to direct it with the gritty reality of Saving Private Ryan, which is considered a masterpiece redefining battle movies. ”There have been glossy versions of the Moses story but this would be a real warrior story,” an insider tells us.
The studio has wanted Spielberg on the project since last September when he first read the script. (See previous, Warner Bros Goes To The Mountaintop For Moses Epic.) Getting Spielberg seemed a long shot because his deals are always complex and his dance card is always full. Talks intensified, and now insiders tell us the dialogue should consummate by the end of the month. Warner Bros wants to start production sometime in March or April of 2013. Producer Matti Lesham came to the studio with a treatment that was bought for development. The film is being produced by Dan Lin and Lesham. The two writers are Stuart Hazeldine (the upcoming epic Paradise Lost for Legendary/Warner Bros and inspired by the John Milton poem) and Michael Green (co-writer of Warner Bros’ Green Lantern and the upcoming ABC midseason series The River for Spielberg”. It’s the first time they’ve scripted together.
Spielberg just finished directing Lincoln and is already working on Robopocalypse: both are DreamWorks pics co-financed by Twentieth Century Fox. Spielberg wants a big film next and this is it: Ten Commandments was one of the most profitable films of its era, grossing $65 million in 1956 — which in today’s dollars is equivalent to close to $1 Billion theatrical. Spielberg helmed another seminal Jewish movie, Schindler’s List which won seven Oscars at the 66th Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director. He was just overlooked for a Best Director nomination on Tuesday for War Horse even though it received a Best Picture nod.”
The Huffington Post also reporting on this Spielberg-Moses story paraphrasing Finkke (without giving her a credit) but added: “Kings” is just one of many projects focusing on B.C. figures: Darren Aronofsky is working on his Noah‘s Ark film, while Mel Gibson has been planning his own biblical-times epic about Judah Maccabee. That film would also set up at Warner Bros., should it ever get off the ground.
What this means for Indiana Jones 5 remains to be seen, but if Spielberg does sign on for Gods And Kings, it would likely push any further Indy adventure into 2014 at the earliest.”
My commentary: In terms of movie markets, at least a third of the world would be interested in seeing the Moses story. Moses delivering his people out of Egypt is the story of breaking the hold of slavery on his people. It is the story of seeing divine intervention delivering a people from a system of greed and inequality. It is the story of miracles. Of signs and wonders accompanying a people with a purpose being set free.
At the end of the day, God wrote the original script. Spielberg will do a great job directing this film from his own culture’s history. The big question is? Who will play Moses?

As long as Moses held up the staff in his hand, his team had the advantage. But whenever he dropped his hand, his opponents gained the advantage.
When Moses’ hands grew tired, they took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held his hands up–one on one side, one on the other–so that his hands remained steady till sunset.

A TEWHATEWHA OF ROTORUA IS PRESENTED TO DAVE CLIFF, THE TOP COP IN CHRISTCHURCH EARTHQUAKE RESCUE EFFORTS

In ancient times, before European contact in Aotearoa, New Zealand, Maori Chiefs used a Tewhatewha to signal a war party into different positions as they strategically tried to outwit their opponents. Within the rohe (the ancestrally allocated tribal region) of the Ngai Tahu iwi (tribe) of Otautahi, Christchurch, a tewhatewha came into our view – denoting strategic leadership in community.
Via Australia Nine News, comes this report of bravery in good strategic rescue mobilization and leadership skills being rewarded for good leadership amidst the recent Christchurch Earthquake ordeal.
“The Christchurch police chief leading the response to the city’s devastating earthquake has been presented with an important Maori tewhatewaha (a carved stick). Superintendent Dave Cliff was presented with a tewhatewha — a traditional Maori weapon which signifies authority, strategy and mobilisation.”
In addition the Otago Daily Times reports, Bay of Plenty District Commander Superintendent Dunbier had asked master carvers in Rotorua to select a “gift of significance” for Mr Cliff, who said it had made him proud.
Perhaps the whole town of Christchurch deserves a tewhatewha for being so amazing like Dave is. Strong people. Strong communities are very cool.

This next picture of Tewhatewha detail as crafted by Todd Cooper of The Ngati Kahungungu iwi (tribe) of Hawkes Bay New Zealand, made of maire wood, pheasant and hawke feathers, courtesy of Spirit Wrestler. The flat detail resembles a whale’s tale, symbolizing great strength.
Tewhatewha III is made of kanuka wood, with paua shell eyes, feather tassel, hand-made Muka (flax) fibre cordage. It was created by Wiremu (William) Wilson-Diamond.
Tewhatewha IV is via the Takitimu/ Mataatua waka tribes of Ngati Kahungungu, Ngai Tuhoe and Ngati Awa.

STRIKING THE ROCK OF APATHY – CLEAN DRINKING WATER FOR ALL KIDS OF THE WORLD
Sometimes I feel like a waterfall in West Hollywood, that just won’t stop. Where the water comes from within the spirit that feels dry, jaded, tired on grey winters days, ironically on days when it pours with rain – I don’t know.
One thing I do know, is that 2 million innocent children, die each year in our world, on our watch, regardless of what flags we wave above our heads, or what parades we have under them for whatever reasons to gratify our own sense of worth and identity. While our flags flap around in the wind, the lives of these children do too and many die because they don’t have access to clean drinking water. They get sick, their lives and their potential in this world are cut short.
Sometimes I wish, that people who are told and even say themselves that they are Kings & Queens would rise up like the legend of Moses in a dry desert, and take the wooden staff of their generation’s destiny and dare to strike the rock of greed, of apathy, or blindness, of entitlement, of nationalism, of hatred, of extreme and costly ‘paper gangsta’ capitalism, of those attitudes of detachment masked in those nonhuman words ‘that’s them and not us,’ of leader’s pride, human blind spots and prejudices; and our own too judging these leaders who are at best, mirrors of ourselves that we elected in many cases (or, the flip side too of letting go of the paralyzing and crippling fear of extreme loss and grief that inevitably follows in that degree of sudden loss too, it’s all the same constructed coin)–and these royals of the earth would say “enough, let these children go free” and cause water to flow to children they don’t know, whose parents they’ve never seen, whose dreams are more real than us at times or our bank balance or the figure we are told of our paper worth or lack of, or the excitement in our allocated and imagined carbon credit worth too. We are so green thinking these days!

Then I realise, sh*t, these Kings and Queens are on this blog everyday. They’re you and on a good day – I could be in your good company too. On a good day. Giving the gift of water to someone else is perhaps the most powerful thing we can do in the 2010′s. One of the true signs we have actually evolved with all of enjoyment and claims of new technology et al that have radically changed our lives. Giving water and saying to someone else, “I love you and you are much loved” are two simple yet vital things we can do each day.
