rough notes:

In Nouveau, as David walked the beach near his ocean villa, the salt air cleansed his senses.

Although Hiroshi was gone, his words lived as light in the walls of the home made of illuminated water.

Once inside, David put a chip into the reader. (more…)

Ashton Kutcher Josh Gad

AshtonAlthough graphene the new super material in the works is pitted to be the new silicon, ashton kutcher, 34, is known in hollywood for his entrepreneurial silicon ventures in i.t and the guy who was the first social media megastar of the USA when twitter launched.

For Ashton, when so much of his wealth and interests are spread across i.t ventures and i.t development, parlaying his star profile that would best suit his business portfolio, saw ashton step into the role of steve jobs for the biopic film of the usa’s once no.1 nasdaq listed company.

ashton starring in jOBS appeared at sundance film festival, where all the new cool kids in movie entertainment on the indie scene congregate each year. in promoting the film here’s what kutcher had to say about playing steve j.

“he’s a guy who failed and got back on the horse… i think we can all sort of relate to that at some point in life… what was nice was when I was preparing for the character, i could still work on product development for technology companies, and I would sort of stay in character, (more…)

CIRCADIAN RHYTHM SYSTEM SKYLINE GARDEN SALAD

Big City Life
On the twelfth wing platform of the secured rooftop garden circle, David strolled through
the aisle between the rows of lush bountiful green taking what he needed. He altered the
the nutrient blends that feed into the garden's atmos-derived mist jets once a week, according
to his body's shifting eruthrocyte and leukocytes needs. Mesculin, garlic chives and baby kamo kamo
took his fancy today. The sky's light in the setting sun calmed the circadian rhythm system of the
circus called his nerves from the day.  (more…)

INTEREST IN SCIENCE ON THE UP & THE RISE OF SCIENCE GEEK BIOHACKING

Science and The FutureThe FBI has agents who have microbiology backgrounds. Their expertise is weapons of mass destruction. More recently though, the same scientists examine the hobby that has sprung up of at home scientists (amateur) who experiment with with genes, proteins and bacteria. Amateur geneticists, biopunks or outlaw biologists. They love to call themselves biohackers. Instead of hacking computer codes, they tinker with DNA, the code of life.

In a way they do what the banking community did during the global financial crises. Economies over-printed money (or clocked up debt), then some of these nations set about hacking other nations economies. Really! That did happen. So, it’s not difficult to see why science is on the rise.

Unfotunately though some of the experiments can be dangerous, as they are not conducted in labs with adequate safety, or they lack ethics, hence a need for the FBI to hire top scientists to look into it. So to keep track of science progress, the FBI has set up the Biological Countermeasures Unit just to stay on top of the DIYbio movement. (more…)

WOODROW W. CLARK’S 3IR SUSTAINABILITY THINKING

Woodrow Clark Global Sustainability

I missed the Woodrow W. Clark symposium at Beverly Hills before leaving the US for New Zealand. Gov. Gray Davis and Woodrow’s thoughts impressed me enough to take a photo just prior to jumping on a jet. I took the snap as I wanted to research Woodrow & Gov. Gray’s thoughts when I could. Now could quite possibly be that time. Renewable energy and sustainability in the 3IR realm of infrastructure advances is the vibe of what they do.

His thoughts are more relevant today perhaps than ever.

BRIAN WINSTON – TECHONOLOGY, INNOVATION & PREVAILING INSTITUTIONS SUPPRESSION

The law of the suppression of radical potential” is an idea first described by Brian Winston in his book, Technologies of Seeing: Photography, Cinematography and Television. According to the law, when a communications technology is realised, its growth is suppressed through the constraining influence of already prevailing institutions and other mechanisms.

Winston shows how the law can be used as a model for describing the life cycle of many communications technologies. His approach is in particular directed against technological determinism and instead proposes that the emergence of new media and new technologies is mediated and controlled by society. (more…)

GRAPHENE PATENTING 2013 – INNOVATION’S NEW FRONTIER

Graphene

China is leading the way with graphene patents. China has over 2,000 patents on graphene’s potential use as a super-material whose possibilities in the world of design appear to be seemingly, endless.

Energy saving, cost-effective everything… is what graphene is capable of achieving. In the world of patenting. I posted my first post about the super-material on this website, almost three years ago now. I thought it was amazing the moment I heard of it. (more…)

BIOSCIENCE DRUGS INDUSTRY IN NEW ZEALAND IS SET TO BOOM 2013 ONWARDS

Bio Science Health Products Include Super FoodsScience End of Year Commentary 2012: Science [in New Zealand], especially bioscience, is at a crucial point in its evolution, writes Paul Tan.

Kiwi bioscience companies secured millions in international investment and grabbed the global spotlight this year. Is granting taxpayer dollars to science and technology companies that end up doing most of their business overseas, or being acquired by an overseas company, wise?

The most globally awarded bioscience company in NZ is LanzaTech. Sean Simpson is one of a few scientists at work in the company. The clean energy and renewable chemicals technology company, [majoring in ethanol production at steel mills that churn through iron sands in their daily output] is considered in the top echelon. The company employs 85 pax.

Other companies Paul lists as being scalable are:

•Living Cell Technologies (Auckland) joint-venture with Japan’s Otsuka Pharmaceutical Factory to co-develop for the neurology industry. A deal is inked at $34 million, tentatively. (more…)
