“WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE” AUTHOR, MAURICE SENDAK DIES, AGED 83
Maurice Sendak, the children’s book author of the award-winning story Where The Wild Things Are and Brundibar has passed away.
Sendak’s childhood as an American Polish-Jewish immigrant where the holocaust impacted on him heavily with family losses, greatly influenced his work and style.

FRED GREENWOOD’S ROAD TO CHILD WELL BEING – LEST WE FORGET: THE AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF A HIDDEN CHILD HOLOCAUST SURVIVOR IS A STUDY
Fred Greenwood, the author who penned Lest We Forget: The Autobiography of a ‘Hidden Child’ Holocaust Survivor was born in The Netherlands. Greenwood and was only 10 years of age in1940 when the greedy Nazis occupied his homeland. Greenwood was hidden for two years by his non-Jewish neighbors amongst 14 homes during a time where his people were marginalized and persecuted by the Nazi elite. His book deals with the humiliating restrictions, the yellow star, the railroad cars packed with human cargo, the showers and ovens of the concentration camps. Greenwood, has lived in Phoenix, Arizona since 1966.
