ALL OF THE LIGHTS – HOBSONVILLE ELECTRICITY SKIES HIT – DECEMBER 2012
A tornado hits Hobsonville… I am not surprised. Does Hobsonville have an actual real MP at all to assist the actual real citizens living there? Who is that person again exactly? I guess we’ll see them on the news in the electorate then, first time they would have been present in a while.
Four words: all of the lights.
Sadly three people died in the damaging gusts in excess of 110km incident. Batton down the hatches is what Whenuapai and Hobsonville residents are doing. Hold on.

EMIMEN TURNS 40
Hip hop’s white Elvis, Eminem, turned 40 this day.
After 13 grammys, a stack of records, being crowned by Vibe Magazine as “The Best Rapper Alive,” the man born Marshall Bruce Mathers III, has a new record dropping on iTunes - 2013.
Some of Eminem’s lyrics are:
I am whatever you say I am, I wasn’t then why would I say I am.
I say what I want to say and do what I want to do. There’s no in between. People will either love you for it or hate you for it.
There’s vomit on his sweater already, mom’s spaghetti.
I’m standing on top of my Monopoly board. That means I’m on top of my game, and it won’t stop, til my hip hop don’t hop anymore.

**** ON THE RADIO – OLD SCHOOL NELLY KIM FURTADO
Right now I am listening to some old school Nelly Kim Furtado music, as in **** on the Radio.
A groovy kool hip hop moment feeling.
Back in time (I am old enough to remember Furtado’s debut), the Canadian Latino artist was off beat edgy cool. It was all about her broken phrasing. Slashed in all the wrong, yet right places. (more…)

IN SOUTH AFRICA, SOLANGE KNOWLES FILMS VIDEO OF NEW TRACK, LOSING YOU
Photo – In Capetown, on cultural ambassador duties for the USA, Solange pays tribute to the culture of ZA’S fashion, reports Time Live ZA. The Knowles family are so hard to keep up with, trends wise – they move so fast.
New music by artist Solange Knowles. It’s been a while since the artist released a single. Arriving at a time when the gap between R&B and electronica is rapidly closing Knowles styles has a simplicity that echoes ’60s music. The song is titled Losing You.
The track captures a paradoxical blend of resignation and hope — that moment when the sun emerges after a downpour. Watch the video, shot in South Africa, below. I’ve always appreciated Solange’s humor on twitter.
Her brain, naturally clever creative. She was my (unofficial) ebonics tutor online in the USA when twitter first started up. 100% style and a knowing ornate awareness within her bones and dna. As an artist who contributes to U.S culture continually, Solange is totz underrated.
Ryan Seacrest’s website notes: Solange tweeted, “So humbled, & grateful for the overwhelming response to Losing you.“ The single, co-written and produced by Blood Orange’s Dev Hynes, is upbeat with a classic tribal feel. The music video is a nod to 70′s quirk fashion US statements and is produced by videos director, Alan Del Rio Ortiz.
Normally well-planned, Solange says the idea was to just go with it, the new neighborhood she was experiencing:
“It was sort of a ‘grab a camera and let’s go’ moment. I think I’ve always liked her because she uses the words “humble” and “grateful” a lot. That’s usually a clear sign of a winner.
