USSR’S HOPES FOR A EURASIAN CURRENCY ARE ON TRACK FOR 2015
On the USSR moving towards a singular Eurasian Currency:
“This is beneficial both to economic entities and citizens [for the USSR, Georgia and Baltic nations]. What’s the point in having a national currency and losing money during transfers?” said Armenian President Tigran Sargsyan.
“In the summer of this year, Russian Prime Minister Medvedev called for the creation of a single currency for Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan. He repeated a similar idea at the recent CIS forum in Yalta – Alexander Razuvayev, Ph.D. and Director Analytical Department of Alpari said in an interview with Pravda.Ru. – In principle, it may seem that the idea looks a little strange against the background of the crisis in the euro zone and the probability that not only Greece, but perhaps Spain may leave the euro zone, but there is a grain of common sense here, because money decides a lot in today’s world. Only a single currency may actually unite the single economic space.”
The Ukraine has aligned towards European integration and not Russian integration, although it has yet to decide what Union to choose. Their decision hinges on eurozone outcomes still developing. The Russian market is seen as advantageous for Ukraine more so than the Ukrainian was for Russia.
Economists say that in today’s world, only 200-250-million-strong markets can be self-sufficient. Kazakhstan and Russia, plus Belarus is somewhat less. Thus, the system can work only if Ukraine is integrated. One shouldn’t forget that Russia can use energy supply to put pressure on Ukraine.
1 January 2015 is when the Eurasian currency is set to kick in. Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan are moving in the same track along the same lines too. A new Eurasian Central Bank is thought to be set up to go with the currency.
Russia has world’s third largest international reserves, more than 500 billion dollars, and Russia’s GDP this year is about 2 trillion. The emerging Eurasian currency nations combined still won’t rival that of the United States, China, or the European Union.

The race is on in New Zealand to back the next star man who can box up a storm.
In the tradition of Samoan-Kiwi boxing greats like David Tua, young Joseph Parker is shaping up to have the sting to be that star.
Parker has signed a six year exclusive deal with Duco events.
“I couldn’t be happier,” he said.
Team JP Box are: David Higgins, Dean Lonergan, fitness trainer Lee Paraore, with Sir Bob Jones and a Kiwi judge acting as mentors for Parker too.
