Post Emmys talk has all come down to, Christina Hendricks golden globes. I knew it would. :)
Indeed, Christina is the no.1 searched for star on the website today. Let’s take a look at headlines concerning Ms. Hendricks. When I lived in the USA, 100% USA media outlets searches would come up first. Today in New Zealand (on Google) British media’s headlines are being fed my way. Um (note to Google), NZ is not a colony of the UK, constitutionally today, so perhaps Google needs to mix up the feedline recommends. We love UK people in NZ, although of the new arrivals, when they get to our shores, they eat more than their fare share of fish, beef and lamb! More so than the average New Zeealander today. We are big Senna Kowhai and Princess Eugenie fans here too, plus their family members. :)
The UK has been given Google preferencing today on Emmys coverage in NZ, more so than Aussie media, (NZ’s closest neighbor and largest economic ally). Anyway, back to Christina’s golden globe headlines post Emmys.

PRODUCTS ARE PLACED ON WRITERS DESKS TO SCRIPT INTO SHOWS – MAD MEN’S BROADCASTING CONTRACT CHANGES
What does a shampoo bottle have in common with Christina Hendrick‘s hair color? Her paycheck on TV.
All audiences of TV exist for advertisers. When people have TeVo and record shows to then fast forward ads, or have Facebook time in between commercial breaks when watching their shows being broadcast, with a button on mute, advertisers don’t get a good deal any more on the TV. Super Bowl is the big exception. Ads are all watched. Sports ads entertainment are beauties, always.
Even with hit shows, like Mad Men the writers aren’t exempt from being corporate sponsors of their shows, messengers. AMC announced via Deadline Hollywood that ‘the upcoming fifth season of Mad Men is now slated to debut in March 2012. That is 17 months from the series’ fourth season finale. While the protracted negotiations between Mad Men creator/ exec producer Matt Weiner and AMC/Lionsgate TV led to the acclaimed series’ pushed production start and, in turn, caused the show to miss its original July premiere date, the new March return date is not directly tied to the contract talks.’
In addition product placement with AMC’s writers is where the network is heading. Mad Men’s historical context, leaves a lot of modern products out of the world of the show. This may or may not be a problem. Since then AMC has diversified too, into other shows, with writers who will put products into their shows via the scripting of the show. AMC like worker with writers like this.
AMC’s argument with these changes for Mad Men is that it ‘has now 5 original series to accommodate and its next available slot for Mad Men was in March 2012. Mad Men was AMC’s first series, which put the cable network on the original programming map. Since then, AMC has successfully launched several other series, most recently The Walking Dead, which supplanted Mad Men as the network’s highest-rated show.’
The Walking Dead stars are now more current in this climate of pop culture, so AMC is going with that as well.
Thankfully Mad Men‘s stars are bonafide celebrity actors now, acting in films –so they’re all good. Shampoo inclusions or not in their 2012 version of their hit show.

CHRISTINA HENDRICKS IS NOT BANANAS ABOUT DIETING
Sexy Christina Hendricks refuses to lose her curves — because she “loves” the way she looks.
Christina Hendricks of Mad Men whose all chi chis and booty with zero waist says she won’t be going on no diet any time soon. In star speak that’s polite festive language for eat your hearts out this Christmas and New Years people, ’tis the season to be jolly–Christina shines for any of us who can’t even form the thought “no KFC.” Hendricks latest press is that dieting is for European stick insects falling over on runways for lack of good golden New Zealand butter in their systems.
If Christina had said she was going on a diet, it would be really bad timing right now, so I like the way she’s curving out with her press this week. The first syllable of the other word for nation–would have sprung to mind, had she not. Good to see she’s one of us fatties at heart.
“People in the industry have been telling me to lose weight for years but I like the way I look,” Christina said.
“I started out as a model and when I went to Italy to build my modeling book, I gained 15 pounds from all the pastas and cappuccinos.”
Hendricks humorously revealed what she’ll be getting for Christmas! Her family must be a little bananas, like most peoples on Christmas day. The Hendricks sound fun! Creative to say the least.

BETTER TREATMENT FOR WOMEN NEEDED TO DETECT BREAST CANCER SAYS NORWAY
Having once been through the whole breast cancer process with a friend and their family, this is the little I know on the topic:
1. Early detection is the only prevention.
2. Ways breast cancer can be detected are 6 monthly mammograms, and monitoring the white blood cell counts in a woman’s blood regularly.
Here’s what Norway has to say about breast cancer via UPI.Com: “NEW YORK, Sept. 23 (UPI) — A study of women in Norway suggests better treatment, not yearly mammograms, may account for a 10 percent cut in the breast cancer death rate, researchers said.
Researchers tracked 40,075 women in Norway who had received a diagnosis of breast cancer from 1986 to 2005. The women were examined before and after 1996, when the country provided mammograms for women ages 50-69 along with special breast cancer team to treat all women with breast cancer, The New York Times reported Thursday.”
If you’re a girl and love your girls, get them checked out. You know it. In order for men and children to be healthy in the world – women need to be healthy too, which means healthy boobs. That’s just a fact of life in any country. America too.

This post from Cover Awards website, one of my favs because the State of California’s initials are shared by it: “Check out these photos of Christina Hendricks as an Etsy model,” a website that features handpicked creations, “for her friend’s line of knit scarves. The scarves are sold under her former bridesmaid, Tamara Mello’s, Blackbird Design House brand page. Mello sells handmade scarves for about $130.”
That doesn’t sound like enough. But perhaps Christina’s friend is not doing the knitting, so that’s all fine and dandy. Tamara is such a controversial name. You’d buy a scarf just for that. So Hollywood!
