YOUNG ADULTS CULTURE AUSTRALIA, CAN IT LAST? + BAJAN CREOLE IS HOT ON THE CHARTS – FAR EAST MOVEMENT MUSIC
Young Kiwis who’ve found a bit more independence by jetting to the red southland are loving the Aussie life.
Yet now that China is hauling back a tad on investing in the Aussie boom, with a view on investing in the Islands of the South Pacific instead, one TV show asks what’s next.

TEENAGER YE SHEWIN MAKES QUICK WAVES IN OLYMPICS POOL – GO CHINA!
Teenager, Ye Shewin, 16, of China has taken the world by storm. Ye outswam her nearest competitors to the point where the swimmer’s performance in the 400m individual medley had some commentators describing her blitz as “disturbing”.
The Chinese teen swam the 400m individual medley seconds faster than she ever had before and – on the last 50m – faster than the winner of the men’s event. There is no evidence against her and all medal winners are drug-tested.
On Monday, Ye Shiwen took at least five seconds off her personal best to break the world record by more than a second and win the gold medal in the individual medley. In the last 50m she swam faster than US star Ryan Lochte in the men’s event. Commentators were stunned.
News source: BBC Sports.
Yahoo Sports question whether China is sports doping athletes for Olympics glory. Commentary here. New Zealand’s Simon Dallow reporting live from London, informs NZ news watchers: “Ye’s coach has denied the rumors saying China’s hands are clean.”
Congratulations to an outstanding effort for a young star of the sporting world. Go kid!

RIHANNA TWEETS + 10 PEOPLE@ 9.38am
According to the UK Daily Telegraph, pop star Rihanna Tweeted on Tuesday in response to a racial slur from a fashion magazine editor in Brussells.
Eva Hoeke the editor of Dutch magazine, Jackie, reportedly called Riri a “N*gga bitch in an article she wrote… “She’s got street cred, a ghetto ass and a golden throat… No to the big sunglasses and the porn heels, and yes to the tiger print, pink shizzle and everything that glitters. Now let’s hope she won’t beat anybody up at day care.”
If Eva had been a hip hop magazine editor, that perhaps would have been all fine and dandy to drop it like it’s hot with the N*gga Bitch commnts about Rihanna. But Eva isn’t.
Riri’s twitter response was, “I find you disrespectful, and rather desperate!!,” before adding, “Well with all respect, on behalf of my race, here are my two words for you …—- you.”
I don’t know why I’m laughing as I read all of that – that’s terrible! I guess I’m smiling because you just know that Riri’s LA themed Christmas Eve party with her PR team is going to be a N*gga B*tch themed Hollywood Hills soiree.. complete with Jackson 5 70′s afro wigs and big Dutch clogs… milky colored or in bright loud orange… with entourages of poodles in toe too. Multiply that thought with the millions of creative twenty-somethings doing the same all across Los Angeles, before hitting up Hollywood Clubs at New Years.
All dark, Young Hollywood humored jesting aside, hasn’t Rihanna had a stellar last 4 years as an entertainer. Her song above, is the no.1 song in New Zealand at years end. That’s not bad at all for the Queen of Barbados.
Let’s spin the fame factory today from New Zealand. Ten People you voted as news right now @ 9.45am KiwiTime are:
2. Kolaveri Di in Auckland City
4. Johnny Depp
5. Hone Tuwhare
6. Rihanna
8. Marvin Gaye
10. Dan News Bloopers News Reel 2011

RIHANNA 41st MOST VOTED STAR 2011
“We found love in a hopeless place”–Rihanna 2011
She’s a girl from Barbados whose life could be reminiscent of any girl born on Islands of the South Pacific. As an ‘Island girl’ Rihanna had a dream to sing and be a global star. She’s also managed to take the 41st spot of most voted stars this year as voted by you.
Today, there is no other female artist in the USA, who has as many hits in the top ten American charts, over the last ten years as Riri. When you are not US born, or a US citizen either that’s a phenomenal feat to achieve in the USA. You have to doff your hat to Riri on her chart soaring achievements.
Perhaps because she was raised an Island girl, Rihanna does have a sound that people of Auckland City in the South Pacific, (the largest Polynesian populated city in the world) tend to love.
Almost three years ago, I started this blog a few days after Rihanna encountered a domestic battery ordeal. I wanted to speak out against that. Rihanna was a catalyst that began a journey on this blog. Her publicist, like Rihanna is also very clever.
She is perhaps the artist that most people in L.A say “best defines our sound at “Da Club.” Her sound definitely goes with sunny California weather. Riri’s last performance was on The X Factor reality TV Show, where she was also seen giving back and mentoring America’s up and coming artists.
In this performance you can see her get up and go style. She’s both sweet and salty, like peanut butter and jelly for the grown up kids! When I lived in L.A her song with Eminem Love the Way You Lie was the California anthem that defined the political and economic times a generation of young people were encountering. That feeling is still being felt in the Eurozone nations and also as reflected so visually in the Occupy Movement, with students (America’s future) being peppersprayed by the Police in the US this week.
Press play to view. No matter what, Riri always keeps the mood up and happy! What a girl.
If you’re in need of support and you’re in a domestic battery situation, check out this link if reading from the US or this link if reading from NZ.

IRISH FARMER ALAN GRAHAM AND RIHANNA’S NEW VIDEO SHOOT
Always a controversial artist, Rihanna when filming a new music video in Northern Ireland, met a farmer who had a few choice words to say to her.
According to Stuff.Co.NZ: “Farmer Alan Graham asked for shooting on his land to stop after he became uncomfortable with Rihanna’s revealing outfit.
She stripped to a bikini made from handkerchiefs while filming, which he felt was too sexy.
“I realised things had got to a stage which was not acceptable to me. Things became inappropriate and I asked the film crew to stop,” the farmer said.
“If someone wants to borrow my field and things become inappropriate, then I say, ‘Enough is enough.’
“I wish no ill will against Rihanna and her friends. Perhaps they could acquaint themselves with a greater God.”
Rihanna has sold 20 million albums, yet she is still relatively unknown in Ireland. Should Rihanna keep her clothes on in her music videos more?

ALL OF THE LIGHTS LYRICS, RIHANNA, KANYE et KID CUDI
“Turn up the lights in here baby. Extra bright. I want y’all to see this…. ” – lyrics. Music by Kanye West, Rihanna et Kid Cudi.
Sometimes in life, we need to hold people up to the light to see exactly what they’re made of, and what’s in there. I’d like to think empathy still is as a humane and normal trait of community minded folks.
Peace!

MUSIC – CALIFORNIA KING BED by RIHANNA
At this second in the USA, an Island dwelling peoples’ pop princess, Rihanna continues to entertain from America as a music artist.
Here’s the lady of the Bardados with her jingle California King Bed.
When I look at Rihanna’s career (and I know her publicist) from living in Hollywood, I think of Pacific Island girls Polynesian potential and talents in music and entertainment. Girls like Rihanna who stem from beautiful Island dwelling, palm-tree swept Island peoples too.
I also think of music’s potential in Auckland – The Super City and the largest Polynesian city in the world. Rihanna’s music and career inspires. Thanks Club Riri. :)
Press play to listen to her nod to California, her American home when she’s based in the USA.

NEW ZEALAND GIRLS HAVE THE BEST RIGHT TO EQUALITY IN COMMONWEALTH NATIONS
When we honor women’s equality, a nation honors women’s true democracy by making them our celebrities.
New Zealand is the best country in the Commonwealth to be born a girl, research released today has found.
The Royal Commonwealth Society (RCS) study showed there was a greater level of gender equality in New Zealand than any other country in the Commonwealth – which has 54 member countries with a total population of nearly two billion.
Rihanna‘s nation of Barbados clocked in at the no.2 spot in the survey.
New Zealand received an “A” in five out of eight indicators and was the “star performer” in terms of pay equality, with women earning 72 per cent of what men earn. Australia ranked 6th equal with Canada.
For the full survey, the NZ Herald has the details. Photograph by Jessica Sims.
Ironically there are more women in New Zealand than men. Slightly more.

RIHANNA RULES THE UK WITH 10 MILLION ALBUM SALES – HOLLYWOOD NEWS – 2.23.11
At only 23, beauty of Barbados, Rihanna, has sold 10 million albums in the UK, after only six years. Amazing! A UK record. Always savvy, Ri Ri shares her moment by giving Donald Trump & Jennifer Hudson an air kiss each.
Country music stars are a little bit entrepreneurial. Better than Facebook profiling, I must say!
Charlie Sheen can’t seem to do without his Brooke Mueller feuds, as well as whatever else Charlie does.
Gabrielle Aubrey is like Brooke Mueller. He too will work with Halle Berry‘s work schedule.
Justin Bieber continues to shine, growing his mogul-teen media empire via good music sales. Quite the story.
Should Oprah even bother with Rosie O’Donell on OWN network. Rosie sort of needs her own network already. Lol!
Momma Aretha does Donald Trump press for Fantasia. Cute.
Cher news – does she really care she never got an Oscars nod? She is the Oscars new Bollywood direction with music & song. Nods or not.
President Obama calls the Defense of Marriage act unconstitutional.
The death toll in Christchurch has climbed to 76 to date. Mega sad news. Go here to make a difference in a city’s devastated grief.
One of my favorite charities is The City Mission. Working in Los Angeles communities 24-7 is what they do. California is the Homeless capitol of the USA. City Mission are the bombiest in making a difference in and around Hollywood as The Entertainment Capitol of The World. If living in West Hollywood and Hollywood, go here to make a difference too if you would like to. Thanks people.
