THE 32HR AUSSIE WORKING WEEK – SHOWS WATER + HOPS TIME HAVE TAKEN OVER

Australia Hops TimeAustralians only work 32 hours a week. What they’re saying is: pub time matters. What else can that mean?!

Anyway… cheers to that then. Lazy ochres. :)

the truth is: companies are cutting costs (part time staff means no long term additional employment incentives are being paid). Two Aussie Banks also predict Australian unemployment to be on the rise.

the trend shows: “Australians are living the good life rather than working hard is instead a  reflection of a longer trend away from full-time towards part-time work, more  flexible working hours, and the increasing casualisation of the work force.”

smh.

EUROPEANS ARE THE MOST WANNABE AUSSIES EVER 2013

Studies in AustraliaThe Australian citizenship tests sorts out the wannabe Aussies in the new pack of immigrants to the red southland.

Adelaide’s The Advertiser looked at who the most wannabe Australians are as per their grading results in the citizenship test. Sweden, The Netherlands, Finland, France and Switzerland all wanted to be Australians the most, achieving on average 97% in their tests.

Kiwis who last year were voted by all Australians as being their most preferred immigrants in the world as “Kiwis just get it,” and the most compatable to the Aussies according to the Aussies in a survey of 2012, apparently aren’t all that kosher in swotting for Aussie-set tests. NZers on average only scored 72.6% in the test. DIGITAL BILLBOARDS – ELECTRONIC ADVERTISING SYDNEY’S LANDSCAPE 2013

Digital Billboards Australia

They have the population mass (audiences) to do it. That is add value to the digital advertising cityscapes terrain. Australia is going to be more like LA. A visual cosmopolitan digital billboard cities tribe. Good for the media industry and real estate of brands. Graphene + solar wiring technology could be a good alternative too to the fossil fuels equation of what to do with electricity’s daylight? In times of global warming, you need to develop technology with the show biz side of life and market share.

DAIRY FARMERS AUSTRALIA… ARE THEY GETTING SHUT OUT OF THE GAME?

No.1 Aussie post is: Aussie supermarkets + milk control. Are farmers winning? Buy ups, distribution market monopolies (ie: chains) and reducing consumer choice.   (more…)

MILK IS No.1 PRODUCT IN SUPERMARKET PRICING WARS

Milk Carton Over White

Milk, the no.1 draw to Aussie supermarkets: Coles monopoly on running milk as a loss leader, reduces choice and gives the supermarket chain pricing influence in Australia.

“Coles and Woolworths sell the private label milk at a loss, to bring customers  into their stores for other purchases.  Dairy farmers say it has the potential  to ruin their industry, forcing them to funnel their products into brands with  lower margin.”

”This is a classic Trojan horse tactic,” the chief executive of the Food  and Grocery Council, Gary Dawson, said. ”As the range of choices drops, so  does competition, raising the risk in the longer run supermarkets will have more  market power to increase prices at will.” (more…)

SYDNEY MUSIC FESTIVALS & REMINDING THE KIDS TO REHYDRATE IN RECORD HEAT – 18th JANUARY 2012

In record heat Aussie music events lovers still congregate 18th Jany 2013

"You can lead a youth to water..."

There was sunscreen available at first-aid tents, plenty of misting areas,  volunteers in certain areas filling up your water bottle for you while others  roamed the site with spray bottles – all of which was free. (Bonus!). And on a day like this – barely a cloud in the sky (at lunchtime at least), the sun  imperiously blazing – you can’t help but think there’s only so much the organisers of the Big Day Out can do.

– SMH events coverage. Photo: Edwina Pickles. It was a record 48.5 degree heat in Sydney today. Gotta love your music to get out in that heat.

HOT IN THE CITY – SYDNEY HITS HEAT, RECORD 48.5 DEGREES

January 18th 2013 Sydneys Hottest Day on Record 49 degrees

It’s fair to say, it’s hot in Sydney city. 48.5-degrees is hit. It is the hottest day on record since temperatures were able to be recorded.

Photo: NBC news. Agricultural realities are harsh for Sydney farmerrs today as Sydney tries to stay cool.

The price of air conditioning in global warming times is also on a lot of Sydney residents minds.

CH.AIRY AUST.ABRIANS – “CHINA’S” DAIRY NEEDS + SOUTH CANTERBURY “FARM CO-OPS” PROCESSING PLANTS + AUSSIE BANK CLIENTS + SINGAPORES MARKET

China US Dairy Water Buys New Zealand

a few buzz words for dairy types:

safe milk-sourced foods. Chinese companies [should] live up to the powerful New Zealand brand image. Chinese using the attributes of the New Zealand brand in China. false fronts impersonating “New Zealand” brand attributes. falsifying prophet levels with counterfeit ingredients. South Canterbury’s joint ventures with China. Land buys. Water share. Protein share acquisition. GFC designed solvencies and NZ hit companies. Don Brash. O.I.O. Appoint NZ directors. Taupo China joint land-ventures. Zong Qinghou. Kelly Zong. Australian focused Chinese company supply chain venture. New Zealand is the second largest offshore provider of dairy protein for China’s kids for the Chinese market with an 18% market share. Singapore has 37% market share. Australia has 15% market share.

China and Dairy

What we’re talking about is “the price of distribution” of NZ whenua, water, sun, minerals flows via agriculture. The reason given is China’s growing markets. Yet there’s nothing stopping a Chinese company distributing NZ’s water benefits (via protein sales) anywhere they want to in the world, thus undercutting in time, NZ’s supply chain.

Canterbury Plains South Island

So, how high is that cost really? [Photo - South Canterbury South Island].

Fran Sullivan talks last year’s hot topic, this year’s fleece… when discussing “the face of protein” superimposed on NZ’s water supply chain propensity in the world – and who gets the bulk of those flows… and who doesn’t. Read her article here. Very informative. Thanks Fran.

[recap: Aussie banks. China investors. Singapore's market... and South Canterbury taking a chunk].

General summary: The top 1% in the world… are surrounding NZ’s water, land, farming flows in these deals and discussion. Is 99% of NZ happy? Included? Involved? Getting the best value? (more…)

MID-FIRES JULIA GILLARD TACKLES CHILD ABUSE NEXT – A ROYAL COMMISSION MATTER

NSW are on high alert during vacation season 2013. In the interim, Australia’s PM goes into overdrive kickstarting her year off with child abuse in her sights. ”Hideous. Shocking. Vile,” are her opening lines of Gillard’s latest rant.

”I believe our nation needs to have this royal commission.”

Love it. Girlfriend… bring it on. The worst kind of child abuse occurring at the moment is economic child abuse. Where inequality rises, it is a statistical fact abuse towards children rises with it. In times of greed and inequality, children and their families are often left exposed and vulnerable by The State. The abuse of children abused in such conditions, was pre-set for children economically by leaders… so I think a politician in the South Pacific and Asia-Pacific whose people are earning well, (entire)… is more than qualified to go for the jugular on the child abuse issue with integrity.  (more…)
