THE TEEN WHO ROCKS THE NORTH AMERICAN BOX OFFICE 2013
Once upon a time, a Mormon housewife, conservative mother sat down at her family table and wrote some books. Her vision would re-introduce a cast of Native American Indian actors into a film franchise series. Americans would be conscious of these stars again.
The franchise would need its own studio to spring up in Los Angeles to house the new stars’ talent and make the author’s books into the films.
Two stars in particular would stand tall, years later. This year Taylor Lautner has been named the sixth highest bankable star of the North American box office by Forbes magazine. When I see Taylor, I don’t know whose more amazing. His family, Taylor, or Stephenie Meyer for writing him into a visible presence in cinema. A cool story.

Henry Cavill‘s take on wearing Superman’s cape in the new movie features the themes of a young boy grappling with how (and when) to use his superpowers.

I think it’s very Prince William ‘growing up.’ A bit Prince Harry too. Needless to say New Zealand’s Rus has been one heckuva busy in movies recently. I think you use superpowers when an imbalance has happened that isn’t just. You intervene in a meek way, as it is the right thing to do, in such a case. For those who have been bullied, superheroes exist as symbols to provide an image of justice.
The movie opens in theaters on June 14, 2013. Meanwhile in New Zealand, we’re trying to plan superannuation better. Lol! :)

He was selected for author Stephenie Meyer‘s book series, to bring it to life onscreen. The teen’s story is now legendary. Taylor Lautner, the athlete, action star, Native Amerian box office movies champion of the USA is the 47th most popular star of 2012.
It is very cool, Meyer wrote Native American Indian characters into her books. Why Taylor exists today as a star. Teens need an overarching structure that can launch them for years and sustain their employment and careers. Meyer did that for this young man.

EVOLVING SPORTS STARS TEMPLATES IN SOUTH PACIFIC CASTING, ACTION MOVIES FILM FRANCHISES – SONNY BILL WILLIAMS & BUDS
Sonny Bill Williams sports star template consists of these words: NZ + Samoa + Australia + rugby league + rugby + boxing shows + weights training + agent + polynesia boy looks.
What does it all add up to? He is a bridge – as a star – linking a few nations of the South Pacific in his news headlines. In that regard he is audience bait for media – a media commodity of his own brand. The latest has Aussie playing down what the star is paid behind closed doors. The new headline sees SBW in a pay scrap. Read on.
What needs to happen for SBW: He should star in one action movie a year. Add a movie or ten to the star template. If a NZ film studio with a view to have Polynesian and Kiwi action stars shine was established that could happen to stars like SBW to evolve cross-over entertainment markets. It would also up sports value too. So much to do… so little time.

NOAH SHANNON GREEN ARRIVES – A HAPPY, HEALTHY, PERFECT BABY BOY
One of Hollywood’s leading sex symbols, Megan Fox is a mom again. US Weekly issued Megan and Brian Austin Green‘s proud parents statement.
I’ve always liked Megan as a star who rose to fame when I lived in the Cali hood. The tabloid battle at the time was mega-fierce. Many didn’t think Foxy would survive the brutal machine. I guess in between all of that clubbing, we all saw Megan evolve from shy girl into a star of the silverscreen.
She was tough. Fox had to be. Her press statements while having to rival Olivia Wilde for the sex symbol role at the time were funny.
While Wilde was wanting to “save the mountain ox,” Megan issued her statement saying she wanted to “strangle a mountain ox” instead.
Probably why Hollywood gave Megan the ‘goddess’ title in the end.
I also like Megan as she went to a Christian school as a kid. That made Megan a total anomaly in itself if you were raised in loud California (flourescent hair colored kids are everywhere around you in Cali. It’s loud). Being from New Zealand, I didn’t feel so weird, by her story as a star being in the media mix at that time (we are a lot quieter). She was like a Cyrus mimicking Angelina Jolie‘s action movie star template at that point in her career.
So for Foxy to be a sex symbol at all, was a feat beyond belief for an “Amish” kid (almost) like Megan to have made that quantum leap. If you understand that reality, Fox is an incredibly strong person mentally.
She stabilized once Beverly Hills 90210 alumn, an unlikely Hollywood veteran, in Brian Austin Green and Foxy met. Having been put through the harsh hoops with Tori Spelling and the crew in his teens, he knew it all what Fox had to do. He became a young star’s wings and guided her through to the next level or stardom. In return, Foxy became an instant parent, helping Austin Green raise his son, Kassius. That image was one people did not expect Fox to take on. She was different. Sexy, silly at times yet not selfish. I liked her then as a star.
Now, for the first time in Fox’s career you get a sense of her humble roots in her statement about the couple’s newborn. (more…)
RUSSELL CROWE IS FILMING ON THE SET OF NOAH POST GRAMERCY THEATER PARTY

Hollywood News: After a successful night as guest of honor at Gramercy Theater, Russ is back on set in New York resuming filming of Noah. The film will be very popular when it drops in theaters 2014.
At Gramercy Theater: Huffington Post writes – “It’s 2 a.m. in New York before the last Russell Crowe fans finally vacate the Gramercy Theatre. Representing a wide variety of states and nations — Texas, Canada, Israel, Indonesia — many had been there since 6 p.m., eager to share an evening of songs and stories with the Oscar-winning Aussie and his assembled colleagues. What they got was a night of pure joy.
The Indoor Garden Party saw Russell once more reunited with his Merry Men from 2010′s Robin Hood: Scott Grimes (ER, American Dad!), Kevin Durand (Lost, Real Steel), and Alan Doyle (lead singer of iconic Newfoundland band Great Big Sea). UK Telegraph has all of the news on set. Like many kids who grew up hearing the Noah story as a children’s book, you would dream surreally about the Noah story. It was a story of bonds of a tight knit family. The Noah story has an oddd way of re-entering one’s consciousness when not expecting it to.
Rachel Weisz (Daniel Craig‘s UK squeeze ;) has just tweeted: ‘I dreamt about this since I was 13. And now it’s a reality. Genesis 6:14 #noah’.

Chris is starring in Thor 2 and will lead DreamWorks/Fox’s Steven Spielberg-directed Robopocalypse and receive $10 million from CBS Films to play a terrorist hunter in American Assassin. ON LOCATION IN ICELAND: Chris has landed in Iceland to film the Thor sequel movie. Scenes for the sequel, Thor: The Dark World will use Iceland’s stunning backdrops to add the film’s ancient Nordic world feel.
According to visir.is, shooting will take place in Dómadalur valley by geothermal area Landmannalaugar in the south-central highlands.
Ruv.is adds that Skógafoss waterfall, Fjaðrárgljúfur canyon and Skeiðarársandur plains will also serve as locations for the movie.
Iceland Review notes how up to 300 people will come from the U.S. to work on the shooting in addition to the almost 200 Icelanders who will also be involved in the project. The film crew is serviced by Icelandic film production company True North. It is the most significant film project to ever happen in Iceland so far.
