THE LIGHT THAT SEES, DISSOLVES DOUBT, PROTECTS
If I say, surely the darkness shall cover me. You see as well without the light as with it, since you are not dependent upon light. Light is its own being, for the full exercise of perceptions. You are present with me as light, whatever may be the hour; and being present you discover all that I think, or feel, or do. It is impossible for anything to be hidden from light, Your hand can pierce my foes as soon through midnight shades as blazing noon. Wisdom we be, through dark days walked, always dwelling in the light, the swelling of heart and spirit as light too; a lamp unto the feet. No shackle of doubt can stand against light, in light resides our spirit's liberty. For even the night itself glows with a revealing force, —even the night shall be light about me. If the darkness be light, how great is that light in which we dwell. You as light, see me.
–Charles Spurgeon – Philosophy of Light, A Treasury. Psalm 139: 11 old school commentary. A Psalm of King David.
