WORDS: ENDEAVOR

Endeavor named after James Cook, an early Brit explorer had a few fans turn out to see the space craft on its final joy ride in Los Angeles. Pictures of the space shuttle’s detail: CNN. I like the mosaic tiling pic.

The word endeavor can mean:

1. A conscientious or concerted effort toward an end; an earnest attempt.

2. Purposeful or industrious activity; enterprise.

3. To work with a set or specified goal or purpose.

FDO definition.

4. archaic: to strive to achieve or reach

5. to attempt (as the fulfillment of an obligation) by exertion of effort. endeavors to finish the race.

6. Archaic . to attempt to achieve or gain.

7. to exert oneself to do or effect something. We must constantly endeavor if we are to succeed.

DR Online.

8. try hard to do.

Growing up in New Zealand the word endeavour meant to me as a kid this expression:

A concept or a vessel of adventurous effort-in-motion,

capable of new discovery,

strong and able to withstand arduous unknown forces,

possessing a level of previously unknown strength to stave off harsh conditions,

in a quest to find bold new ideas,

that contain the essence of providence for others still to come,

long after your own generation has graduated on.

(The sense of the above definition being sourced from

the early iconic Maori vikings of the sunrise

and then Dutch explorers and Captain James Cook many centuries later too

and also the French explorers - who braved new worlds as authors

with their mental instincts, physical strength and vessels acting as their pen

writing history across the ocean’s open page,

as people of tremendous courage and spirit).

We are because founding fathers and mothers of bold hope, embraced risk and left their familiar comfort zones and endeavored before us. They strove towards attaining a dream.

–Endeavor/ Endeavour is a good idea in a sustained effort of purposeful flight towards finding new revelations that are capable of improving the world and can inform the way we live with new insights of new vision. The fruit of endeavor is achievement, knowledge, wonderment, inspiration, bitter sweet gains and losses along the way and most of all – an appreciation of life’s adventurous spirit obtained through spirit, guts, craziness, luck, (support and teamwork), heaps of smarts, grace, passion, plenty of fight in a journey of wisdom that all can result and lead to an increased state of satisfying fulfilment, peace and greater freedom. To live in an exciting dream adventurously and to love boldy while obtaining one’s goals with no fear, is the greatest endeavor of all that is attainable to humankind.

The endeavor of people driven by love is a precious motivator that knows no limits. Love as a living symbol of endeavor in action, lives to find new knowledge and it dissolves all fear.  I love the word endeavor. It means to give and do your best.
