GROWING A BEARD & CULTIVATING THE JOHNNY DEPP LOOK – HAIR TRENDS DURING ECONOMIC REBUILDS

I lived in Hollywood for five years. I had never grown a beard before. Back in New Zealand, now at 40 I have a beard and a mane of dark hair too. It’s not bad. Though every day, I’m looking more like Johnny Depp.

My niece, 23, who does not know of my blog and who has just bought her first home, tells me: “Uncle you look arsty now.”

Too funny. I am proud of my beard. Not quite Sam Whitelock Kiwi beards status. I’m getting there.

I am gutted I have no greys. I worked hard so damn hard for them. At 40, they are missing. I should have gone harder in life. I thought I had. Apparently my head says no. As there are no greys yet.

Where are the greys?!
