Sports News – Richie McCaw‘s new autobiography Richie McCaw: The Open Side co-written with Greg McGee is on track to take the title of best sports autobiography in book sales, New Zealand.
The 1974 autobiography of Pine Tree, Sir Colin Meads holds the record in NZ, at 57,000 sales. Jeff Wilson is in second place and Anton Oliver‘s autobiography in no.3. The book has already pre-sold 50,000 of the 60,000 first book print run.
McCaw talks about the book with Mark Sainsbury on video link pic above.
Gosh, the last sports autobiography I read was an ancient copy, (read recently though) of Pat Rafter the Ozzie tennis player. His life story interesting. Must make a note to read this one at some point too. On the best sports sellers list of all time in the world, the no.1 seller is the Lance Armstrong autobiography. In no.7 is Muhammad Ali‘s: Greatest Fight book.

[Thanks Mark. So humble].
