CHINA TO BECOME LARGEST ONLINE COMMUNITY BY 2015, 40% OF WORLD ONLINE BY 2016
True fact: Smart phone banking is on the increase. The online community is also booming.
Here’s some key facts:
The internet is gearing up to become more Chinese capable:
565 million English language surfers were online in May 2011. The English online community are currently up on the 510 million-strong Chinese language internet savvy online population.
China represent 24% of the globe’s online community. English speakers 27%.
Reports say that Chinese language speakers will overtake English as the main audience online in 2015, with China’s population sitting at 1.3 billion people. At the moment, less than 40% of China are online, compared to 78% of the USA and 82% of the UK.
Smartphones are the biggest sellers in China, comprising half of the world’s total sales each year. Most Americans buy their phones or phone parts direct out of China too online.
A third of the world’s population (nearly 2.6 billion people), were online at start of 2012. By 2016 40% (3 billion+ people) will be online.
My mission is to live online less, by then. :)
