CHINA-USA VIEWS: LEON PANETTA IN NEW ZEALAND & ATTICUS & RAINER MUSS MEET MICHELLE OBAMA

Am-Kiwi humor observes of the day: So, Leon Panetta is visiting NZ. It is the first official visit of a US Secretary of Defense in thirty years. The NZ media are reporting that China’s threat in the South Pacific region could be a reason why NZ and the USA should buddy up more in military relations. That was on the news two hours ago. It was delivered all very seriously.

Then on the Ellen TV show, Michelle Obama is a featured guest of the show’s content. What goes to air is Mrs Obama talking to redheaded brothers, Atticus and Rainer Muss, (child actors) who are quizzed by FLOTUS. She asks the kids:

Q. What American President could speak Mandarin Chinese?

The redheaded kids know the answer.

Conclusion: So, Leon Panetta’s military spin or Michelle Obama’s Chinese friendly approach?

What one should NZ take heed to?

Or do we just go with both… also so American to take such a view! :)

Conclusion 2: New Zealand see both the USA and China as future trading partners. We value more to do with the USA ahead? Oh, we also are Russian friendly too, at this stage, just to throw that out there as well.
