No.7 PETER TAYLOR & STORM URU’S IWI-KIWI, BRONZE BROTHERS FLOW – ROWING NEWS
My TVNZ wood pigeons, mega-talented sports writing team, are hard at it, writing up a storm of New Zealand’s awesome efforts on a lake far away. Here we go:
“Peter Taylor and Storm Uru have scored New Zealand’s seventh medal of the Olympics, with bronze in the men’s lightweight double sculls.
Denmark won the dramatic final, coming through the British defending champions in the final 100 metres in the tightest clash of the Olympic regatta.
Britain had powered off the start and led for 1,900 metres by half a length but they could not hold off the Danish boat of Mads Rasmussen and Rasmus Quist who sprinted for the line.
Denmark finished with a time of 6:37.17, claiming Denmark’s first gold medal of the games. Britain finished in 6:37.78 and New Zealand came in three seconds later with a time of 6:40.86.”
That’s tumeke! [With thanks to TVNZ for best updates]. On this day, Tribe TV3 featured the following stories:
