FISHING FOR NEW TRADING PARTNERS – THE USA’S ECONOMY IN SUMMER SLUMP
[Photo: Look, the sun's orange energy shines from a shell. In other news: The Mitt Romney lookalike, flying doctors club - begin to appear on New Zealand TV tonight. The doctors have begun to wow New Zealand with their skills in "medicine." Mild mannered American gentility is the look from these USA ambassadors of new immigrants migrating to NZ. Smart. So far the Kiwi locals like their approach to taking medicine more out into the field rather than ambulance-hospital approach. eg: it's all about the patients using helicopters to get there. They seem to like, Coromandel's potential so far].
“This kick in the guts has got to end.”–Mitt Romney
In USA news on the job market front – and the economy: “The American job machine has jammed.
No president since World War II has faced re-election with unemployment over 8 percent. It was 7.8 percent when Gerald Ford lost to Jimmy Carter in 1976. Ronald Reagan faced 7.2 percent unemployment in 1984 and trounced Walter Mondale.
Patrick Sims, director of research at the consulting firm Hamilton Place Strategies, said that “time has run out” for unemployment to fall below 8 percent by Election Day.
That would require an average of 219,000 jobs a month from July through October — more like the economy’s performance from January through March, when it averaged 226,000 per month.
Few economic analysts expect anything close to that.
“The labor market is treading water,” said Heidi Shierholz, an economist at the Economic Policy Institute. She called it an “ongoing, severe crisis for the American work force.”
The Labor Department report put investors in a sour mood. (When are they not?! so why is it anyone’s problem their elitest entitled mood is sour?).
The Dow Jones industrial average dropped 124 points. Industrial and materials companies, which depend on economic growth, were among the stocks that fell the most. The price of oil fell $2.77 per barrel to $84.45.
Money flowed instead into U.S. Treasurys, which investors perceive as safer than stocks when the economy is weakening. The yield on the benchmark 10-year U.S. Treasury note fell to 1.54 percent, from 1.59 percent on Thursday.
Investors were already worried about a debt crisis that has gripped Europe for almost three years and recent signals that the powerhouse economy of China is slowing.
Earlier this week, the European Central Bank and the central bank of China cut interest rates in hopes of encouraging people and businesses to borrow and spend money.
For American investors, however, the jobs report fell into an uncomfortable middle ground.”
Mitt Romney‘s quote: “This kick in the guts has got to end.” Amen! We hear ya.

It ends when the wealthy share more by opportunities distribution. It ends when green tech jobs become USA’s no.1 priority. Otherwise, the American accent as heat rises in the world due to global warming, war, industrial pollutions effects alter weather patterns – will lose its cultural currency – of a culture of integrity – more so than what it already has – post Mr Bush‘s path he set for the USA.
It ends when greed is not our model of existence. It ends when we are governed by what is humane and just.
It ends when we don’t forget the forgotten in the world.
Then judgement lifts off our nations, when justice returns.
Then we are living: “There by the grace of God, go us all,” – “kicks in the guts” aspects about ourselves and all too. We all have them, yet here we are, in this one planet we share.
Gotta go!” :)
The good news, 80,000 jobs created. Woot!

I also think of what Charles Windsor said recently, that in light of water, food, air quality being the most sought after necessities heading to 2050 – one of the ways he suggested could help preserve the planet, was for everyone to “do less.” So Mr Obama and Mr Romney and friends, at least have aligned with that objective. There’s always a silver lining….
There is no excuse for American unemployment. Energy companies should announce they are employing people to put solar panels on every roof in the USA in the hot cities. Those who can wield a hammer and tools could take those jobs. Those who can’t, can take the jobs those people left to build the solar panel upgrades and rewiring for homes with. So I do not accept or excuse the USA for having such a low job rate. Mr Obama said “We will harness the elements,” in his opening speech. This is a part of getting him and the USA back on track, with this memo. The energy situation in the USA makes my heart heavy for America. We are in a position of having to select (like judges) who NZ wants from the USA now. It’s only going to increase – so what do we all do? The solar situation sounds like a good solution – if jobs really were the focus!
News source, The AP via The Jarkarta Post. In New Zealand, we appreciate people who are considered and who display manners. May that cultural trend continue from the USA. Peace!
