POSTWAR AMERICAN ART 1945 by R.E ANDERSON

In 1945, the men who were fortunate enough to return from serving in World War II, became heroes of recovery. Defenders of liberty.

These days, men (women and children) are caught up in a global economic war, so you don’t need to wear a military or marine uniform, to still be a soldier or a hero of this rebuilding effort in the world. You can be forgiven too, for feeling like you’re recovering from fighting for country in a war. The war is invisible, so perhaps it’s highly likely, that you have been.

This 1945 painting in oil by artist R.E Anderson speaks today. Courage and strength to serve one’s country. Let’s make America stronger.

As I write these words in a cafe in Hollywood, Journey‘s song Faithfully is being sung by Gregg Rolie, from Journey’s 1983 album Frontiers. Here’s the song for your entertainment. Lyrics follow after the jump. What a beautiful song. Have a great day. :)

Faithfully by Johnathan Cain

Highway run
Into the midnight sun
Wheels go round and round
Youre on my mind
Restless hearts
Sleep alone tonight
Sendin all my love
Along the wire

They say that the road
Aint no place to start a family
Right down the line
Its been you and me
And lovin a music man
Aint always what its supposed to be
Oh girl you stand by me
Im forever yours… faithfully.

Circus life
Under the big top world
We all need the clowns
To make us smile
Through space and time
Always another show
Wondering where I am
Lost without you

And being apart aint easy
On this love affair
Two strangers learn to fall in love again
I get the joy
Of rediscovering you
Oh girl, you stand by me
Im forever yours…faithfully

Oh, oh, oh, oh
Faithfully, Im still yours
Im forever yours
Ever yours…faithfully

["Don't Stop Believin", is Journey's top-selling catalog track in iTunes history, at more than three million downloads.]
