RAFAEL NADAL BEATS TOMAS BERDYCH TO BE WIMBLEDON’S CHAMP 2010
This from the New York Times: For the longest time, Spain’s Rafael Nadal clung to his Wimbledon cup keepsake. He carried it, cradled it, even signed autographs with it tucked away in his right arm as if he was an author, with a completed masterpiece novel.
With an aggressive assault on Tomas Berdych, Nadal succeeded in a 6-3, 7-5, 6-4 match. His win vaulted Nadal into rare company. Rafael’s 8th major championship title tied him with athletes the likes of Andre Agassi, Jimmy Connors and Ivan Lendl. In jubilation Nadal, somersaulted across Wimbledon’s green in celebration.
Congrats buddy.
